tip,,,go to your local bookstore. All the books that are unsold and returned, ask if you can use them as fuel for fire. They will only get pulped and used as toilet paper.

After all paper is made from trees.
We use Charmin. It is made out of books that were best sellers.

I would gladly chop it for you if I lived closer. Hope it doesn't get too cold there, Ruby.
Thanks Zero. We still have about a month of warmth to go but then it will start cooling down, so I need to start now as it takes me a while to get it done. I don't actually mind doing it (now anyway). It is good exercise and is good for fitness. My brother in law used to call me chicken wings because he thought my arms were skinny lol. They are compared to him as he does building.

but are brave enough to admit for all to see.

My name is tourist and I have a serious nicotine addiction. I once told God that I wanted quit smoking. He did not answer my prayer as He knew that I was lying to him. Perhaps when I am serious he will deliver me from this self-imposed affliction, and other things as well that do not belong in my life.
Wow - God brought me to this chat site for a reason!!

I’ve been attempting to quit for the last 4 months and it has been TORTURE!!! I’ve been using nicotine mints but smoking on and off. At the point of tearing my hair out because now I’m addicted to TWO types of nicotine and feel worse off than the day I started to ‘quit’
I resolved this morning that I am going to do it cold turkey and set my face like a flint!!!! See how I go. It’s 12:48am here and was hoping tomorrow would be DAY 1!!!!
I’m sick of trampling on the blood of Christ, I’m sick off smoking whilst crying pleading for mercy, I’m sick of being in BONDAGE! We are to be mastered by nothing

Let’s do it!!!!!

I pray for all of God's grace in this most worthy endeavor of yours to quit smoking. I am in bondage too. There are countless others like ourselves. In years past I have prayed for God to deliver me from this evil addiction but He did not answer my prayer. The reason that He did not was because He knew that I was lying about my desire to quit. I am not lying anymore.

I have many other recent posts about my struggle to overcome this addiction in my Pain Management Clinic thread that you may find helpful in your own struggle. And believe me, you and I both know that it is indeed a struggle.

I am starting my second month of being smoke free. I find that the nicotine lozenges are helpful but I still often think about actually smoking.

The thing is, my wife has prayed for me to quit for years and I decided, with the grace of God, to be an answer to her prayers. I don't want to sneak off for an occasional smoke as then I would have to lie to her whether or not I am still smoke free. I have lied to her in the past but by the grace of God, I will not lie to her again.

It is just like drinking alcohol. Years ago, I decided to not drink anymore period because I wanted to set a good example for my older brother who is an alcoholic. He still is drinking but I have abstained since 1992. I still love alcohol but I choose not to drink. I still love to smoke but I choose not to smoke. Today. I take it one day at a time.

This is one of the hardest things am attempting to do as I have been smoking for over 50 years. Hopefully, God will mitigate the damage I have caused to my body. Regardless, I have made God a partner in the recovery process.

My name is Jerry and I am an addict. Nicotine is my drug of choice but with God by my side I choose not to smoke.

No lie.

Today.

I will pray that God's will and desire to be accomplished regarding this. You are going to be quite a catch that's for sure.

I remember dating someone who smoked marijuana, but I had no idea he smoked because when we dated he didnt smoke around me. It wasnt till he started asking me for money (to buy drugs) that I found out.

ai
I stopped dating him and he went to rehab to get off the drugs.

Yayy Tourist! I quit smoking 5 yrs ago, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me how toxic it is. So I asked for help. One day I picked up a butt in desperation, tried to smoke it but it was soggy. I could not stand the idea of tobacco after that. Keep it up and God will help you through. Tell JL to keep praying!

I confess I didn't join my christian zoom group today. They are a clickey bunch. If your in the circle you are encouraged and welcomed. If your not in the circle you are pretty much ignored. Oh well, I am looking forward to see where the Lord will lead me next.

I hate cliques that that ignore new people... but if they didn't, they wouldn't be cliques. Anyway you are better than them, Ruby. One thing I've learned about cliques is that they are usually immature.

Thank you Zero. I have been with them for about six months but just never fitted in. I am a bit discouraged by their behaviour but there is no use belonging to a group where you feel like you are on a different wave length. Probably I was never meant to be there in the first place.

This happens to me all the time...I've been trying to blend with other people online just for a light conversation but I notice this always...the women members will suddenly disappear and leave me alone lol or sometimes they ignore me 😁

I confess im not that bothered when people yell at me cos I can just leave if they fell like they want to take their frustrations out on me.
Or maybe Im going deaf because of their yelling. . But thing is yelling doesnt make people do what you want anyway, so why people think that will even work I have no idea!

Maye there are some people who do stuff because people yell at them, but Im kinda wondering who those people even are.

I really don't want anyone to yell at you. Some people are just plain rude and obnoxious. Toxic.
