So now I've gone to Walmart and gotten a new fishing license and trout stamp....and I decided to get a new $30 reel...
I'm not sure if I'll like it. I've used my Shakespeare Mitchell's for my whole life. Never been a push button or trigger type of guy. Never got the hang of baitcasters. Open face or nothing.

But nowadays braided line is the thing...with a fluorocarbon leader. So I had to get some more line too. And since the kids beat up all my lures I got a new one of them too. None of my old stuff is really made for braided line. *Sigh*
Spider line is great! Really thin and strong!

"Hear me now" I heard Him say
That fateful awesome doubt filled day
His face ablaze and voice thundered
In dreadful fear my soul shuddered

Yes, those were not the words He spoke to me, and yet His voice
did thunder, and there was certainly no not hearing what He said.
As frightening and confusing as it was in the moment, I most
certainly now do take comfort in knowing I knew Who was
speaking, even as much as I wanted to deny it.

***

Then in darkness I felt peace
A silent spirit reached to me

I felt no peace! LOL I was in more turmoil than I think I've ever known, before or since.

But I said, no, I can't believe
Perhaps my mind plays tricks, deceives
I would be crazy to believe
That God has spoken to me

Yeah, so true LOL

But the Spirit did not leave
As dreams of dragons filled my sleep
Visions of horsemen and angels
No longer seemed so fateful

I wasn't sleeping. I couldn't sleep. What happened that night, was the
single most terrifying thing I have ever experienced in my life. I rarely
speak of it because I don't think most people would understand. Heck,
I'm not even sure I understand. It is possible it was my spiritual
circumcision. It certainly was not performed by human hands.
But I felt it. Nobody, and I mean nobody, could explain to me what
had happened. I consulted a lot of people, the so-called spiritual
teachers, healers, and practitioners I was consorting with. None
of them knew. Their offerings, telling me God did not exist and
stories of Jesus were just stories, I could no longer accept as true.

The flesh is certainly weak
But there's a promise for the meek
Written in that good Book
So I took another look...

What'cha think

Well done :)
The cool thing about songwriting... they can always be re-written.
Think about it, go ahead and change it

Nice!
It's probably just my messed up eyes, but the text could use more contrast, boldness
I did put a gradient overlay on the text, something I do not often do...

Maybe the green should be at the top and blue at the bottom?

Or I could increase the outline effect surrounding each letter...

The dark outline, not the white one (outer glow) ;)

Yeah...I've got it. Got it on several reels.

Cumberland pies are good...
But they aren't going to work for resale. Too tender and flaky of a crust. Granted it's buttery and flaky and everything that you want....but they do fall apart too easily. Not going to be pleasant driving and eating.

Funny story... When I was still working, I used to love the $1 hotdogs at Quicktrip (gas/convenience), but the chilly and cheese was extra. So, I would put the chilly / cheese in the bun first with the hotdog on top. A cashier saw me doing that and thought I was trying to steal chilly / cheese lol... I had to explain how to eat a chilly-cheese hotdog while driving! :p

That's pretty much everyone's story, no?!?! Maybe not, I don't know.

Was there someone specifically that talked about Jesus with you, or it was sort of on going thing, that finally blossomed?
Already by the age of ten
I knew of something deep within
That came alive to soar beyond
The grist of daily life

At sixteen then I quit the church
And left my family in the lurch
To travel far away and so
Began I then to search

For many years anon traversed
Such nightscapes vast and so
Diverse that led me further as I nursed
My hunger for the truth

Yet also contemporaneously
My love betrayed dev'stating me
Never slaking quite my thirst
Sedating idealized naïve youth

Exploring still the esoteric
Forsaking much along domestics
Delving into atmospherics
Plunging prodded led dynamic
Celestial journals quite substantial
Providing insights Supernatural
Essential proofs revealed shamanic

Embracing all and so submerged
That when God spoke hearing His Words
Though shook unto my very core
Instead of kneeling to adore I balked

For seeking long the crux of life

And known His love in unfathomable strife
To find once more this God of verse
Immersed me in deadlock what's worse
I didn't want Him either!

I'd hoped to find a different one
And petrified was still averse
Yet my peers now seemed perverse
And drifted from me further

At that time my digital cam
Drew the attention of a man
An artist too and we conversed
On all and sundry interspersed
With talk of God and he so humbly
Told me Who Jesus really was:
The source of life and God's great love

Finally I summoned surrender
To peace and hope and so much splendor
Found within that gifted book
Baptized in November, 2004
