I live in the South and eat and cook southern. You can bet we call food what it is......southern fried,southern pride!...🙏🙏🙏

Alligator sort of tastes like chicken... A tad gamier though.

When I was a child I could not understand what a saltine tasted like. So I made up a word in my mind to which I applied to anything I preferred overmuch.

hmm...the only food that falls into the category of the thread is that my grandmother (whom we call Nani) made us stouffers macaroni and homemade danish wedding cookies. These were called Nani macaroni and Nani cookies.

We call the cookies that whenever we make them lol. I get a giggle when I hear my sister say it.

My parents were more straightforward when I’d say I didn’t like something, “you like ______” and I would say I didn’t. We still do that dance of “oh you like German chocolate cake!” No I actually don’t 🤣 I may have eaten the cake cake part but I hate coconut and I don’t eat the frosting. If I ate it when someone made it, I was only being polite.
