Do men want women to take the initive when approaching relationships?

I don't mind it at all. My biggest pet peeve is the whole dating game and the way that men are supposed to chase the woman. I absolutely HATE it. I do think it's possible for a woman to let her feelings be known at the beginning in a way that is tactful and modest, but i don't think a woman should do the pursuing.

If two people are interested in each other then be upfront and honest about it. If a woman wants to be modest she can accomplish that in other ways besides being deceptive and making people chase her; for example become friends first and take the relationship at a slow pace.

Not only that but, up to now, it appears that we did not have a Hispanic perspective on this matter. As I wrote above, the new trend that we did not see until recent years could well have been influenced by the fact that so many Hispanic cultural values such as food, music, holidays, and social values are now a significant part of society. No other person posted such an idea here. Now that I did so it proves that diverse opinions should be considered at all times because they could well be true. In fact, very true.

In no way do I intend to be rude, however I will be frank. I believe attributing this trend to Hispanic culture is absolutely absurd.

i grew up in a christian, conservative Hispanic home, and i was taught to not pursue a man lol

The last lady I dated was White, greatly interested in Hispanic cultures, and spoke to me in Spanish. She was totally enthralled by Caribbean Hispanic cultures which she made a significant part of her life. It was she who initiated our relationship.

That may explain it. After all, Hispanics are not a monolithic culture but comprised of many highly diverse cultures. Here in Minnesota, Mexican-Americans do not accept the term "Hispanic" as it is only a reference to Spain [Hispania was the name used by Romans for Spain. Lusitania for Portugal.] they only accept the term Chicano-Latino.

We Latinos from the Caribbean are very different ethnically and racially from Mexicans and we have no fear of women taking the initiative in starting relationships.
