You mean we aren’t supposed to build silos to fill with grain and stockpile water to sell at super inflated prices?

Let’s say the bottom falls out of the market, money is worthless, and anarchy becomes commonplace. There will be division. It will be the strong and the weak. Even if you prepare it may be taken from you. How long do you think society will survive in major metropolitan areas? No sewage treatment, no water treatment, no electricity. There will be people helping people for a couple of weeks. Then when hope starts to wean, the morally void will band together and make gangs. They will prey on the weak feeding their debased natures, killing, stealing and raping. If you find it hard to fathom, look at what happened in New Orleans. Instead of helping the orphans trapped by flood waters, gangs went around raping them and controlling food supplies, dropping off. I believe the Lord has prepared an army to enact His justice if these times occur. The hands of God will be the fists of God and with clear conscience will kill evil doers mercilessly. God has called some to prepare for provision and others to prepare for protection.

We've seen lack before. My parents went through it in the 70s. People find a way. They almost lost their home and God provided them a miracle where they were able to keep it. I believe it's good to be as ready as you can be, but without God, we're doomed.

It makes me wonder also if the goods in the ship containers are food or dry goods and how they determine if the food ships get inspected and unloaded first or not(perishables you would think right?)

They aren't really being forthcoming about what's on the ships. They say to buy Christmas presents early. They aren't saying anything about food. And that to me is a hint, they don't want panic. Prices are rising fast. That is why I went out and bought now before the prices jump. Wal-mart says it's going to rent boats to bring in their product, but who do you think will eat that cost? So, I'm not going full blown prepper, lol, just trying to stay ahead of what I see coming. I really hope others are doing the same.

Nope...it will sit there and rot...

When the Evergreen was stuck in the Suez Canal there were livestock aboard it...they all died from lack of water and food. (They make shipping containers for livestock that feeds and waters them)

Other shipping containers are powered by either batteries or something and are refrigerated, frozen, or just GPS tracked. The exterior always looks similar but many are radically different.

If a frozen shipping container runs out of fuel to power it...the contents thaw out.

Thats because Costco (their largest competition) owns their own logistics elements. From ships to trucks....they control and own it all. Walmart just updated their warehouse facilities but doesn't own their ocean shipping fleet. So they are going to lease one.

Fuel costs are going to eat them alive anyway so it actually could work out for them....they lease out available surplus space to offset fuel and crew costs and they can save some money. (What Costco does)

If that's the case that's a whole lotta money goin down the drain. That will raise prices even more. This was suppose to be Pete Buttigieg's pet project. Looks like he's doin' a bang up job.

If logistics was actually working the way it should...
From an orange grove field in South Africa to arrive on my kitchen table it requires 10 days maximum.
Sometimes less.
That's going through the Grocery store chain's centralized warehouses and everything.

Logistics have changed a lot over the past 40-50 years. Jimmy Carter's fault for when he made OPEC and Federalized the interstate speed limit to 55mph.

Today's truck long distance fleet drivers have onboard dispatching connected to navigation as well as cyberspace logbooks. They also have automatic transmissions and power steering and extensive dash-camera systems. (Too many intentional accidents)

Ocean going Containerships aren't much different...captains don't really even steer the boat like they once did.

Most of those living in rural areas are going to suffer as well...
They usually travel to city centers for groceries...
And since logistics for Amazon and other shipping companies has grown extensively over the pandemic...on time deliveries have a thing of the past. 2day shipping? Don't count on it!

The steel industry is working on overtime to fix the shipping container shortage....but it requires steel...which relies upon mining....which relies upon mining equipment and well.... you get the idea. Where a single hydraulic hose or filter can cause the whole world to collapse.

"Simple things of this Earth causing the wise to fall". Or something like that.

Preparation is prudent. Regardless of rumours.
A weeks worth of food and water.
Plan for security, medical and communication challenges and essential.

Pete's been on paternity leave since August. No one is in charge in the Dept. of Transportation.

No reason to panic, just a $500 billion ponzi scheme in total collapse.

We solved the gifting problem a couple of years ago. We send VISA gift cards. It's cheaper and much more appreciated.

Now there is a way...
Beef cattle are backing up at the slaughterhouses and processing facilities...

You can purchase one off the feedlot if you can actually break down the whole steer. Might try splitting it with someone or try purchasing what is termed "swinging beef" .

Cheaper by the pound and not very processed but is hung for a couple of weeks. (Needed step)

You guys are nuts! Get a fishing pole and catch fish, no easier way to get high quality protein. Also, we are told that a third of the fish will die, pick them up off the beach and get a net to scoop them up as they float on the water, just like road kill and as long as you are prompt they will still hold together as you pick them up.

Or you could do what the Indians did and use the dead fish for fertilizer and instead eat your peanut butter.

Or even better you could do what the Bible says and put your trust in the Lord there is no salvation other than Jesus.
