So not true. No wonder you have a problem with law enforcement. God put them on the streets to protect you. Do right and you have nothing to fear. If you are persecuted for the cause of Christ be happy and bear it as unto the Lord.

All of police training needs to be changed, and all of police culture needs to be changed.
I'm guessing you didn't bother to watch the video that I posted. It's at police stations all over the country.
There’s always room for improvement, but saying that everything is wrong might could be seen as complaining just for the sake of it.

Or it could mean the system isn't working so it needs a complete over haul.
It's not hard to look at just the numbers and statistics and say the criminal justice system has failed, and needs a complete re work.

It's not hard to look at just the numbers and statistics and say the criminal justice system has failed, and needs a complete re work.
There’s probably a whole mess of failures in the criminal justice system, but if you’re gonna complain, what is your suggestion of improvement?

Bad policing is not the problem in and of itself it is a symptom of a much larger problem. You can't fix this problem at the police officer level until you have address to the greater problems. That greater problem lies in the penal code itself, which comes down from politicians.

I think that one major thing that needs to be addressed is putting a person's personal safety back into their own hands is going to be a big step toward correction. As long as there's some kind of political interest in protecting a person from themselves there will be abuse of liberty.
I think that natural personal accountability for your actions is good for a person.
I also think that allowing citizens to look out for each other is a good idea.

We need new politicians.

It’s not much fun seeing how society is treating the down and out people.

Minding drunkards, baby sitting drug addicts, jailing dirt poor people for pick pocketing etc etc.

Get us some new politicians, something else than the rugged old Elephants and Donkeys.

I don't think he's saying that everyone is innocent. The VAST majority of the prison population is for non-violent crimes (80% are possession).

2.3 million people. For the sake of ease of calculations let's say 2 million people.

Federally it's like $80 per day but again for the sake of argument I'll make it $50 to account for any potential low state costs to taxpayers.


50 x 2 million = 100 million/day = 3.65 billion dollars a year to taxpayers for non-violent offenses.

That does not include the privatized probation fees or state run probation fees. All in all easily a 10 billion dollar a year industry...and we pay police to do that on top of that loose estimate.




If you think it's just that only "the guilty go to jail" then you haven't ever been there. Also if you are not factoring in that the enemy is the god of this world and human "justice" then I would encourage you to rethink that.


I'm about 50/50 in between you guys and I would believe as you do were it not for some incredibly random encounters as well as an inside look on our "justice" system.



For profit prisons aren't uncommon. Look at incarceration rate increases and crime rate increases in the last 50 years. You also need to factor in recidivism.






I am not against policing by the way, just that it is not quite so simple as you are representing. Do you have any idea the amount of laws that are out there? How unlikely it is that you are not violating even one of them? We are all guilty. For me this just shows a fallen world and how we need his justice and his righteousness...despite how "law abiding" we think we are. You are correct in that we have nothing to TRULY fear about the justice system, if the Lord is for us. Just because someone gets caught up in the legal system in no way makes that statement false.

If you think that God is punishing someone if they go to jail, you need to factor in the god of this world concept a little further and that it is difficult to pass judgement on anyone in this regard.

I certainly believe the Lord can use the justice system in a believers life, much like he can use anything. It's probably one of the lamest things out there though when you have to go through it.

I don't think that will happen this side of the glass. If anything it will become worse but on the surface it will be scrubbed with some polish as more and more people see the surface for what it is.

Of course it would be absurd to say everyone in prison is Innocent but when we have people doing life sentences for nonviolent crimes then our justice system clearly needs an overhaul

it's been a while since I've heard a politician talk about prison reform as a main stage topic. Apparently after a tiny bit of "internet research" it is one of the rare issues with bipartisan support. If it weren't for all this trump nonsense we might actually see some movement.

Not to go off-topic but why this impeachment stuff needs to be public or the Russia probe is beyond me. If it's valid, it's valid, do what you can privately. It is quite sad that's all most people focus on. Other issue need the spotlight and our individual voices collectively raised together against prison systems would go a VERY long way.


More is spent on the prison system than the department of education. Tis troubling. Also troubling, is that we are number 1 in the world for prison population.

I don't particularly care how you feel about non-lethal drugs (lethal ones I have a different opinion about) there is no real reason why I should be paying for them to be in prison. Our drug policies still mirror totalitarian regimes in some ways.

Far too much to be said.
