I think that what he's really meaning is that since USA has bases in Germany, the politicians there said: "I don't think we need an army here anymore guys. Now let's go do a gas deal with Russia".:giggle:

It's been 80 years since ww2 and I agree that they do need an army in Germany now which is why their discussing it. I think the part where we think they think they don't need an army began after 1945 when via the Allied forces Germany was told they could not build up an army and were to demilitarize their standing military. At that time both Russia and the USA set up bases in Germany to see to it that Germany had less than 100,000 solders and so now 80 years later the USA is ready to let them rearm Germany and defend themselves. Russia on the other hand does not agree with this at all and will see it as an new arms race between Germany and Russia.

I would say our policals were naiv. They believe everything. Who study Putin should know that he has no problem to walk over dead bodies. Who Studie the Islam knows that this is no peaceful Religion and that you cant trust them.

Yes, and thats why it is so strange that Trump goes in direction of Putin. To support Putins view instead the old friends. Our left Party and also the AFD are supporting Putin.
In the past 40 years i never saw in germany an Demonstration against that what russia is doing. But many many against the USA.

With everything happening so fast since Donald was elected, it's easy to lose sight of the fact he's still a convicted felon. Should we really be that surprised at all his lawless behavior?

There is some hope in this post.
You're saying that your politicians were naive and then instead of making deals with US and adjusting your tariffs with USA, your politicians do deals with Putin.
This is what happens when Liberalism goes unchecked my friend. And now is the time for the balance to be restored.
Your politicians and the woke mindset will be on the way out, while new alliances are formed.
