Every time I hear Carney or Joly or Ford threatening all the terrible things that they will do to the USA, I always ask myself:

You and who's army?
But that is what Trump wants them to do, but I think Poilevre has seen the light.

So far I have not seen anyone try invade Canada with boots on the ground, although of course the Russian invasion is ever present for sure .

I do know that Canadians have given their lives to the expansionist state to the south, sadly for fake foreign threats like the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Having stated that at least Jean Chretien was brave enough to say the quiet part out loud, that probably those weapons did not exist.

No not really. I disagree with him on several points. The guy is quite brilliant though.
Here is the REAL end-game. A HUGELY positive outcome.

Bloomberg Weekend
Musk Hopes US, Europe Will Move to Zero-Tariff Free-Trade Zone
BY DONATO PAOLO MANCINI
04/05/2025 18:51:16 [BLN]

(Bloomberg) — Elon Musk hopes for a “zero-tariff” system between the US and Europe that would effectively create “a free trade zone,” he told attendees of a League event in Italy, days after levies set by US President Donald Trump sent global markets into a tailspin.

“Both Europe and the United States should move, ideally, in my view, to a zero-tariff situation,” Musk told Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini on Saturday. “That’s what I hope occurs.”
Someone should tell the Chinese.

America by far has the largest absolute GDP and GDP per capita, so tell me where is the crisis?
Where to begin!

DOGE axing Social Security is the biggest threat to America, actually Elon Musk and DOGE are the biggest threat to America! But really Trump's tariffs are the biggest threat to America! And that is on top of Climate Change which is the biggest threat to America! After Covid19 which of course was the biggest threat to America! And I haven't even mentioned Liberals with their hair on fire because of Trump, that is really in crisis mode. I mean their heads are exploding everywhere, it has become very unsafe to even walk the streets.

Why don't we just all take a deep breath, give Trump a couple of years to try and fix this, and then I'm sure if you will then look at your retirement savings...and it's all gone.

I know eh, America always under threat, my heart is literally breaking how beleaguered it has been as a country, enemies domestic and abroad.

1998 Sudan Air strikes destroy country's major pharmaceutical plant.
1998Afghanistan Attack on targets in the country.
1998Iraq Four days of intensive air and missile strikes.
1999 Yugoslavia Major involvement in NATO air strikes.
2001 Macedonia NATO troops shift and partially disarm Albanian rebels.
2001Afghanistan Air attacks and ground operations oust Taliban government and install a new regime.
2003Iraq Invasion with large ground, air and naval forces ousts government of Saddam Hussein and establishes new government.
2003-presentIraq Occupation force of 150,000 troops in protracted counter-insurgency war
2004Haiti Marines land. CIA-backed forces overthrow President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

So what are you saying?
That Canada is not on that list?

Well, every person and country has a time and a place in history.
For now, you guys are like number 30 or whatever you are on the global list as a military power.

So for now, enjoy your maple syrup and be grateful that you're number one at that.

What are you saying? That the US doesn't have any friends? That we just go around bullying all the countries? That we are no better than any other previous evil empire? Don't be bashful, get to the point, you think the Apocalypse is here and the US is the Great Babylon and they are about to be destroyed in one hour. OK, you have the right to your opinion.

Sorry he does not inspire any confidence.
Rather than calm the nation down, much like his predecessors he just inflames the animosity.

It is really sad to watch, it really is.

Sadly for no reason, the greatest, wealthiest nation the world has ever seen.

I guess it comes with the territory.. .. perpetual insecurity or something.

It really is not the Great Babylon, but has made many of the classic mistakes that empires make.

You know for as much as you hate Musk, you appear to have a lot in common with him.
You both try hard to fit-in and want acknowledgment.

I think it is very funny. God said He would have them in derision and I think Trump is God's ultimate disrespect to human government that rejects Jesus Christ as Lord.

Interesting take.
There is merit for sure. But the church shares some of the responsibility for where we are today.
