Hard to imagine doesn't mean impossible. My dad was around 78/79 when he asked me to make a comp CD of 80s hair metal bands for him to listen to on a long drive. One night he sat on his laptop listening to various styles of music. He particularly enjoyed Gwen Stefani. I played The W's for him which he asked for a copy of.
While such things may not be things he listens to on a regular basis, he is able to appreciate a wide variety of music. In fact the only types of music he has no appreciation for are rap, electronic and modern country. He even appreciates the musicianship in heavier music such as death metal, even if he doesn't care for the sound of it.
Mind you, not only is he now in his 80s, he's a farm boy from KY originally. So i have no problem believing a 50 year old can enjoy the things JP says. It's more of an issue believing that anyone enjoys them, hahahaha. Except Eowyn, she's pretty awesome.

WOOO!!!!!!!! I love Mark Solomon. He's seemed kind of wishy washy on his faith in the past, but he's an amazing lyricist, and his lyrics have had such a deep effect in my life, specifically while he was in Stavesacre. This seriously gets me really stoked. It deserves a FB post.

I always thought him and the Martin brothers were great when they teamed up together, so seeing him work with either one is a really good sign in my opinion. Although I wish they'd do more with Neon Horse

This kind of has a bit of a Black Sabbath meets Starflyer 59 sound, I'm digging it

Since this band is now newly signed to Luxor Records, why not post an amazing live set?

I got internet recently and I'm enjoying spotify. I found White Lighter on it, wicked, now I can listen to them until I get paid next week and can download their album. Apparently it's only 7 bucks for the DL, but the vinyl comes with a download I guess.....sooooo I'm debating.

Also, I've never been in Impending Doom fan but I found myself listening and enjoying them today

I've never understood their popularity. Then again it's been a long time since I understood the popularity of metalcore in general.

I found this today, newer band on Rottweiler I guess...pretty good I think...But please tell me I'm not the only one laughing hysterically at the video and the bands synchronized moves.

just laughing hysterically, never mind their moves lol I've almost given up on metal. Most of it is that metalcore crap and if I find something 'good' it's usually something horribly recorded or the lyrics are way off always talking about darkness or something to that effect. Decent stuff is hard to find. *sigh

Here's a song off of Ted Kirkpatricks new solo album. He has a slew of guest vocals, but this one showcases a 16 year old girl that crushes it. The part where they go from mellow to metal, oh my gosh, she nailed it way better than i would have expected.

Other artists on the album include vocalists Michael Sweet (Stryper, Boston, Sweet & Lynch), Dug Pinnick (King’s X, KXM), Mattie Montgomery (For Today), Kevin Young (Disciple), Blake Suddath (Your Memorial), Nick Villars (Sleep Star Ignition), and Luke Easter (Tourniquet). Guest guitarists include Marty Friedman, Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth, OHM), Bruce Franklin (Trouble), Rex Carroll (Whitecross), Tony Palacios (Guardian) and Aaron Guerra (Tourniquet).

Well, I gotta say it's been a while since these guys have done this to me. I haven't liked their direction since Terminate Damnation (might be a result of continually having new band members) but this album has really grown on me.
First started out as oh yeah, good to have in the background while i'm doing work on the computer to now listening to it on purpose, looking forward to see if they come out with anything this year, it's been a couple years.

Their official website still says 'taking pre-orders for I AM. Their FB page has barely been updated in months. Though in Feb they said 'BTA is working on something (it'll take some time)'.
I know at least one, and possible more, members are working on other projects.
Seth Hecox is the only member remaining from Terminate Damnation. He is working on a project called Anchors and had a Kickstarter up in early Feb.

I was really digging them up until Celestial Completion. With two very definitely death/progressive styled albums and then a really good experimental one, I felt like Celestial Completion was just a huge let down. The one you posted was alright, just a little short for my taste

Interesting tidbit, Jason Wisdom now works at a ministry devoted to finding places for bands to stay on the road to make sure they get decent places to sleep and decent meals through people volunteering to let the bands stay with them. They also provide spiritual encouragement etc.. for these bands to help keep them on track since so few of them have any real, consistent spiritual support. Sounds like a great ministry.
