Dear LoneGirl02,
Just yesterday, I was looking at my life and thinking
(1) I have no experiences with this and that
(2) There are certain things I do not know, etc.
(3) then I thought, "How can I be this fortunate?"
I puzzled about this a short time then I thought, "It's because
(1) I was reared in a church organization (although it was a very bad one)
(2) When I finally fled it I continued worship in a different place.
I married young (19) to a young man in church,
(1) I stayed with him alone until he was killed 8.5 years later
(2) Stayed a single mother ten years,
(3) Chose to have no man-friends until an old boyfriend's wife died
(4) We two stayed celibate until we married
(5) We are happily married 33 years now
(6) We have been faithful to one another the whole time
(7) We attend worship together now, although we have had times when we worshipped separately
And finally, I read my Bible
I'm very careful about what else I read
I'm very careful about what I watch (TV, movies)
I've always recognized my responsibilities toward my children -- responsible to live for G_D.
Have I been perfect? (A resounding) NO!!
But am I happy for all the things I don't know? YES!
Am I glad about Some of the things I don't know? YES!
Am I glad for MANY of the experiences I have not had? YES!
Has life been good? YES!
I am writing, Hon, be careful to make great decisions. You have to live with them for the rest of your life.
