I've become something of a smoothie addict myself and banana/stawberry are 2 flavors that are just yummy together I think

I have a recipe book for smoothies and also the shred book by Dr Ian Smith. Add a little weights for your arms on the treadmill (unless you have to hang on) and that will work even better. Cardio with weight (don't overdo though or injuries occur) works best for weight loss and seeing improvement (ie getting ripped)

I've been a bit of an exercise obsessive most of my life. It's addictive

Smoothies can add up in calories pretty quick so if you want to loose weight also, try to keep them under 200 calories

I like the weight idea.. right now I am pushing myself, speed, I am seeing improvement.. I am gonna try to get where I used to have to do the US Navy PT when I was in active serve of 1.5 miles in 18 minutes I am up to 1 1/4 miles in 20 minutes now..

What can one do to tone up the arms? What do you consider "little weights"?
aha...another exercise devotee! :) good stuff

the weights depend on the person and what they are trying to achieve

how bout I pm you with some good youtube vids for that? it's been years since i went to a gym, preferring to just workout at home instead, but the vids are like being in class with music so it's fun to follow plus you can just make your own schedule

throw in half a cup of apple juice (not from concentrate) for sweetness if not sweet enough. sadly, I have been known to knock off a packet of sweetner when needed...well I put lemon or lime in mine too cause it's good for you

What about stevia for a sweetener? It is all natural. I have used that in the past.

since I quit smoking, (yes I know, I was an evil man!!) and cut sugar way back on my coffee.. I do not need so much,, My smoothies are perfect the way they are, I was adding some protein powder, but ran out and have not gotten anymore yet..

I have been using protein drinks for years...get the New Zealand whey protein ...it's made from grass-fed cows. It's better for you.

gadzooks! I would not dream of altering your smoothies. I recant.

smoking is not evil. it's the cancer that could follow. :( I don't put any sugar in my coffee and not because I am sweet enough haha you would have a hard time getting someone to agree on that one. however, I do indulge in cream and I used to used 35% but I was skinny and just working on hardening of the arteries. mind you, it seems they have rethought the whole fat thing. good cause I like butter too


I just read Grace's post and he's right...I was reading about whey the other day....supposed to, and I quote "contains an amino acid that prompts muscle cells to burn sugar more efficiently' so you can have your sugar and burn it too ?!?

I am only a few months into smoothies, so are not really my field of expertise. I just really like them and the variety

I use so little artificial stuff and try to have just one diet ginger ale a day...love the bubbles so drink club soda

I've never tried stevia which is not to say I wouldn't

don't feel bad, I love food too.. Smoothies are like a milkshake except better for you. And I LOVE me some strawberry milkshake.. lol (Oh Boy, A banana split just went through my mind, may have to splurge tonight!! )

I gained weight when I quit.. I have a GUT FROM HE**..lol Thats why I started the treadmill, But was not working, so I went to change diet, and started taking scuba diving lessons,, I needed cardiac help for that, He recommended treadmill, So I started it again 3 weeks ago.. I feel so much better already.

I used to put 3 teaspoons in coffee, (I hated it as a kid and dad said if I am going to boot camp, I will need it so it was the only way I could drink it, was lots of sugar and milk) down to a half a teaspoon, Maybe soon cut it all out..

who said I feel bad? it's more about how you look that worries me haha chips anyone? no worries, children at the mall do not point at me and say mama...is that the fat lady who sings last? there is that 10 lbs though....

now you sound like my husband...the ice cream addict...when he gets himself a bowl, he could put a flag on it and say he made it to the top. I prefer frozen yogurt in diet conscious quantities maybe with a couple of cookies

Juicing is by far the healthiest thing we can do....and eat natural foods. But nothing will effect a change in a person faster them juicing raw vegetables and drinking it 2x times a day. It's amazing.

LOL..no juicing chips but I will tell you on the one day a week that you load up on a whole bunch of calories when you juice 6 days a week.....chips are really delicious!...and my favorite is ice cream!...and anything loaded with cheese!
