I understand, but the Bible is silent about overhead projectors; but one Church of Christ where I live uses them. The point is they don't follow their own policies. They apply their "speak when the Bible speaks" policy when it fits their agenda.
That's pretty much the kind of comment I'd expect from a know-it-all like yourself. No good explanation? The comment is stupid.

you think New Testament Christianity should look like. But is it, really? Let's see, New Testament Christians were persecuted and killed for their beliefs. You want New Testament Christianity? Let's bring that back. New Testament Christians exercised supernatural spiritual gifts; I've yet to see that in any Church of Christ.
Each Church of Christ is self-governing so it's hard to make blanket statements. I can only say one Church of Christ I was involved with pushed hard for me to get baptized by a Church of Christ official, even though I'd already been baptized by immersion. The Church of Christ sees itself as
the true Church of Jesus Christ on earth. In that respect it's no different than any number of other sects which call themselves Christian, though it yells loudly: We're
not a denomination!
