At what moment in time do we come in contact with the blood of Christ?
At what moment in time are we washed in His blood?
If you can not answer these questions with scripture, suspect your thinking is flawed.

That is pure undiluted 100% baloney with sawdust filler added for good measure.

I guess I have to post the following verses again

“For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.” (Leviticus 17:11)

“Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. “ (Romans 5:9)

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7)
“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:13)

“Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. “ (Romans 5:9)

“Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1 Peter 1:18-19)

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (I John 1:7)

“…and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood and has made us kings[ and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:5)

Now tell me where water baptism is even mentioned let alone being attributed with any kind of forgiveness of sins.

I know your doctrine is unsound and does not save. There is no question whatsoever about that.

attributing the work of God to any other person is blasphemy

the jews attributed the work of God to men in physical circumcision. when it is God who gives us the circumcision made without hands (col 2)

its no different than today saying it is the physical water baptism of man who replaces the spiritual baptism of God in the washing of our sins by the blood of Christ..
The difference is, there is no promise in scripture that says that circumcision will save a man.

While there is such a promise in scripture concerning baptism in Jesus' Name (Acts 2:38-39).

That is why it is important to "get this one done".

So, since salvation is promised to those who receive baptism in Jesus' Name, it is certainly not going to produce the opposite result.

If you think you will be saved because a sinner immerses you in water. You are mistaken.

What is laughable is you replacing the baptism of the spirit with the baptism of man..

Your no different than a jew who teaches physical circumcision. both are false gospels and blasphemous.
Acts 2:38-39 gives an absolute promise of salvation to those who are baptized in Jesus' Name.

You appear to be teaching that God does not keep His promises.

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

yep.. I do not see the word baptism at all.

nice try try again

why do you think he said as moses lifted the serpent? why did he mention this? where people who were dead had to LOOK UP at the serpent to live. and why would people look up? because they trusted God, No water.. no baptism.. just faith'

why did Jesus then say he must be lifted up. that whoever has faith and looks up to him, will not die either.. in fact they will live forever (born again)

he who believes is not condemned, he who does not believe is condemned already

not one word of water or baptism/

Your seeing immersion where there is non..
I think that I don't even need to comment since you are being dishonest in omitting one of the verses that I was speaking of.

BTW, the Holy Sprit can fall down on ANYONE regardless of their state of salvation. It is not a proof of salvation.
So the Holy Spirit infills non-believers? We are not living in OT times. The Holy Spirit infills BELIEVERS only. He does not infill those who reject Christ or perhaps have not yet heard the gospel.

Your little word games do nothing for your 'testimony'

I trust the promise

whoever calls on the name of the lord will be saved

Whoever becomes bankrupt in spirit will enter the kingdom of God

Whoever believes is not condemned

its because of the work of Christ. not the work of man.
You can believe and you "should not perish".

Believe and be baptized and you "shall be saved"

One is "iffy" the other is absolute.

In the parable of the sower, the 2nd type of soil, "believes for a while and then falls away".

Does that person go to heaven?

I think that it is heresy to teach that someone can go to heaven without faith.

dude, 280 does not answer the question

water baptism is a work, just like physical circumcision was a work. just like churhc membership and giving and praying and all the things we do are works.

Works bear fruit.. not salvation. Salvation is a gift.. You do not work for a gift.. Study romans 4
post #280 shows how we receive grace in baptism (therefore it is not a work, Ephesians 2:8-9).

Since baptism in Jesus' Name brings salvation (remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost), it cannot be a work.

Otherwise the scriptures contradict themselves.

But I know that you are attempting to deny the plain meaning of Acts 2:38-39 by saying that baptism is a work.

Frankly, you are not saved if you think water saved you.
Indeed. I am not saved by the water per se, but by the fact that I have identified with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection.

In doing so, I have confessed Jesus before men;

and therefore I have procured salvation (Matthew 10:32, Luke 12:8).

From the old to the new testament, the answer to salvation is found only in blood.
If that is the case, then the blood is in the water.

Mar 1:4, John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Act 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Baptism as an ordinance for believers had therefore not yet been instituted.
Baptism had in fact been instituted and whether or not one was baptized had an effect on the person's faith (Luke 7:29-30).

Hi Grace,

Good morning!

There are two types of works that the Bible mentions. One is a work of righteousness where you are earning your salvation. The second type is a work of faith. Here are the scriptures that refer to both of these works.

WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of works which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Romans 4:1-5 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? "ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." 4 Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. 5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,

WORKS OF FAITH

1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; 3 constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of LOVE and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father,

2 Thessalonians 1:11 To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power,

Grace, if I may, I would like to ask you these questions:
1. According to James 2:14-26 what is the Biblical definition of someone getting a perfected faith.
2. What are the three levels of faith?

God bless you, Grace.
Wayne
Titus 3:5

not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

We are not saved by good deeds. period. we are saved by grace THROUGH faith, not of works lest anyone should boast.

You can;t save yourself.

Baptism had in fact been instituted and whether or not one was baptized had an effect on the person's faith (Luke 7:29-30).
Love how you twist what people say which of course ties in with your biblical understanding

I DID NOT SAY baptism had not been heard of or instituted. I DID say that baptism in the NT was a new ordination as pertains to believers. In fact, mr let-me-step-all- over- the- truth, you exactly quoted where I said it

It's actually funny. I suspect yr sense of humor may also be lacking

When you and your friends gonna cop to being Oneness Pentecostals?

Acts 10:43~ All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.:)
:)
The 2nd type of soil in the parable of the sower "believes for a while and then falls away".

So, he has forgiveness for a season but then, because he loses faith, he no longer has forgiveness.

Baptism seals the deal so that you will never fall away (Mark 16:16). For "shall" denotes and absolute promise;

while "should" (John 3:16) is rather "iffy"

Hi Grace,

I appreciate your taking the time to give me an answer to my questions concerning faith. Could you put, though, your thoughts concerning what the scriptures say, not in your own words, but simply quote the scriptures that affirm what you think. Here is why.

Deuteronomy 4:2 "You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your GodP which I command you.

Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to His words Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.

2 Corinthians 4:2 but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.

2 Peter 1:3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Grace, when we put into our own words what we think the world of God means, we can be doing any of the things written in orange above. But if we simply quote a verse that God has given us, we will not be in danger of misquoting the meaning that God has given in his scriptures. Having said this, could you give me the scriptures for the reason that the Bible gives for baptizing a person.

God bless you and thank you for taking your time with me.

Wayne
can you explain to me why faith is anything but what it is defined as?

Here is my post in its entirety to show what I really said.

It would not have mattered if he had been baptized, because Jesus had not yet died and risen from the dead. Baptism as an ordinance for believers had therefore not yet been instituted.

The nonsensical argument to continue to insist that the thief might/maybe/perhaps/supposedly/possibly/conceivably/mayhap
/peradventure/ and so on and so forth, have been baptized ignores the difference between the baptism of John and that which a believer undergoes.

This actually shows a lack of understanding and or desperation to cling to a nonbiblical view of baptism as a vehicle for salvation.

This is grade school stuff. But somehow, it goes right over your head.

We have been water baptized. If you are preaching Jesus only, you are prob Oneness Pentecostal or some variant thereof.

Again, you have no authority to make words become of no effect. Perhaps they were said by someone who actually does have that authority?
If they can have that authority, then so can I.

Act_10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we
Do the unsaved receive the Holy Ghost?
They received the Holy Ghost because God wanted to prove that Gentiles could be saved.

According to Mark 1:4, Acts 2:38, remission of sins came to them at the moment that they were baptized and not before.

See Matthew 10:32 and Luke 12:8; and you will see that the confession brings salvation.

Therefore baptism is not a work.
If your being baptised TO BE SAVED

it is a work

learn the defenition of a work.

matt 10 is about confessing to men not baptism,

Luke 12 is also about confessing to men

I am not saved because I confess to men.
