The truth is that He (his soul) was begotten.
Christians today have different interpretations or understandings of what a soul is.
While I have my own understanding of what a soul is according to the Bible, this is a rabbit trail I am not sure I want to go down at this time by trying to unpack your understanding of what a soul is.
You said:
Not created.
Begotten by the Father before any creating took place.
We can know that because everything ever created was created through Him! Colossians 1:16
He could have created Himself!
You're muddying the waters of meaning here. I am going to make this really simple for you. Matthew 1:2 says,, "Abraham
begat Isaac; and Isaac
begat Jacob; and Jacob
begat Judas and his brethren;"
Obviously it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that
begat is a morphological variation of
begotten.
It also does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that when the Scriptures say Abraham begat Isaac, it is a reference to Abraham giving seed to Sarah whereby this seed impregnated her and she gave birth to a child (Isaac).
The Eternal Logos (the Living Word or second person of the Trinity) was made flesh. The Logos was made flesh by a seed that impregnated Mary who was a virgin and she gave birth to that seed. This is how the Word was made flesh or how the Father can call Jesus His only
begotten Son. So when NASB or AMP says Jesus is the only begotten God, it is falsely teaching He was created as a God via by the process of some seed whereby birth happened as a result of that seed.
I will give you two examples of begotten gods in Greek mythology.
Hercules - Son of Zeus and the mortal woman Alcmene.
Perseus - Son of Zeus and Danaë.
Both
Perseus and
Heracles (Hercules) were born as a result of Zeus mating with mortal women in Greek mythology.
Perseus and
Heracles (Hercules) would truly be begotten gods (although they are fictional). This is not the case for Jesus Christ (who is real) because He was already eternally the Living Word or second person of the Holy Trinity. The body of Jesus was begotten or brought forth into this world. The essence of the Living Word who is eternally God was not begotten or came into being at any point in time. So now do you see the error of John 1:18 when it refers to how Jesus is the begotten God? If you let cognitive dissonance set in and you bury your head in the sand about what I am talking about here, I will then move into phase 2 whereby I will show you screen captures of dictionary definitions. If you do not get it then, I may have to move into phase 3 whereby I will use hand puppets and coloring books.
