It's NOT just Acts, it's ALL the scripture - EVERY TIME the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost is mentioned in the Holy Bible.
Acts defines the Baptism and interprets 1 Corinthians.

Nope, again.

I NEVER said or mentioned anything to be required to be saved EXCEPT the Body and Blood of Yeshua/Jesus Christ and faith in HIM ALONE. However, AFTER being saved, the "works" of the Holy Spirit begin in every believer's life.

You keep trying to put me in a "pentecostal charasmatic" box. I'm neither. I just simply follow Christ being lead by the Holy Spirit. I do enjoy the charismatic spirit-filled non-denominational churches.

You're stuck in denominational doctrines and really need to go read your Bible.

A proper sound doctrinal knowledge of the Holy Spirit will only come from the scriptures NOT denominational doctrines. Go and actually READ FOR YOURSELF every time the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the Holy Bible.
You have said that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit occurs in a second baptism. The baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs just once at the instant a soul asks Christ to save them.

You can deny the charismatic Pentecostal influence but it is their doctrinal error that you are espousing. You have not offered one specific verse to support your position. I suggest that the entire second chapter of Ephesians clearly defines the Holy Spirits role in our redemption.

The blood of Christ is necessary for our atonement. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is our evidence of salvation. Consider the passage in Titus 3 verse 5.

How are we born again if not by the power of the Holy Spirit? If you want to read the bible together and open the scriptures to find the precious truth therein then list the scripture that you want to examine.

After we make our decision with ALL our heart and choose Salvation by receiving Yeshua/Jesus as our Lord and Savior by faith, we are "sealed" with the Holy Spirit immediately and marked as God's possession.

However, the "baptism" and "continually being filled" with the Holy Spirit is a Gift from the Father - just as He gave us the Gift of His Son - He gives us the Gift of His Holy Spirit which empowers us to live this new life in Christ that has been given us.

Sealed with the Holy Spirit

Ephesians 1:12-14 King James Version (KJV)

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

After we are "sealed" with the Holy Spirit, God wants to "baptize" us with the Holy Spirit. Our body is to be the Temple of the Holy Spirit - to be indwelt with the Holy Spirit. This is Emanuel - God with us on the Earth.

The "baptism" with the Holy Spirit is the first time God fills you with His Holy Spirit.

Baptized with the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:5 King James Version (KJV)
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) not many days hence.

Acts 19:1-6 King James Version (KJV)
19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

To help understand this, Solomon built the first Temple in Jerusalem and after the priests had placed the Ark in the Holy of Holies and left the temple, the Glory Cloud (Holy Spirit) filled the temple.

1 Kings 8:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. 11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.

The same happens to us - it's phenomenal! Absolutely a joyous time! You'll know when it happens.

After we are saved with the Body and Blood of Yeshua/Jesus, sealed with the Holy Spirit and baptized in water.......

we need to get baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit, but how?

Simply ask the Father and the Lord Yeshua/Jesus Christ, "Father, Lord Jesus, I receive Your Gift of the Holy Spirit, baptize and fill me. Indwell me with Your Holy Spirit, I want to live with You on the Earth now and for all eternity. I choose Life. Your Gift of Eternal Life in me. Thank You, Father, in the Name of Yeshua/Jesus, amen."

The Holy Spirit dwells within us and with us on the Earth - just as Yeshua/Jesus was with His disciples on the Earth. The Holy Spirit will teach us, guide us, counsel us, comfort us, instruct us, correct us, empower us to be an effective witness of Yeshua/Jesus, and always be with us.

After the "baptism" of the Holy Spirit, the scriptures open up so beautifully to us and the things of God begin to make sense, we receive understanding and our love for God and His Ways increases tremendously.

However, loving God is ALWAYS a choice. He never takes the "choice" away from us. Every day if we do not choose God, then our flesh gets stronger and we backslide.

It's very important to STAY "filled" with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit NEVER leaves us, but our flesh can quench it and grieve it.

Filled and Continually Filled with the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:4 New International Version (NIV)
4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

Acts 4:31 New International Version (NIV)
31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

Acts 13:52 King James Version (KJV)
52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

2 Timothy 1:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

We stay continually filled by NOT neglecting the Gift of the Holy Spirit. We read, study and meditate on God's Word, praying, singing songs in our hearts to God, fellow-shipping with other believers, etc.

Our flesh grieves the Holy Spirit. We need to learn to walk by the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. It's a choice to stay filled. The Holy Spirit never leaves us, but we need to know how and keep the Holy Spirit stirred up within us.

Go and read ALL the scriptures that mention the Holy Spirit in the Bible. These are just a few of the scriptures. Don’t put your trust and confidence in denominational doctrines.

Acts 19:1-6 is not teaching a baptism of the Holy Spirit in the context to which you endeavor to place it. This passage is in context a narrative where some disciples of John are taught of Jesus and they become saved. They received a baptism of repentance which was Johns baptism in water to prepare them for Christ. Paul then completed the teaching for them telling them of Christ and they were converted. They displayed tongues that the circumcision present would know that they had received the Holy Spirit.

Your application of 1 Kings 8 is not making any contextual sense. The temple was filled with smoke as Jehovah was cleansing the temple. The smoke does not represent the Holy Spirit in this narrative. The presence of Jehovah and His glory was in the temple but of course no man could be there when God was there. The Holy Spirit is in us that we might have fellowship with Christ for the Holy Spirit is the Vicar of Christ. We see in Hebrews that we have the ability to come into the presence of God and we are indeed bidden to come boldly.

Nope, you're wrong again. They spoke in tongues and prophesied because they had been baptized with the Holy Spirit by the laying on of Paul's hands.

Did you notice when they spoke in tongues and prophesied?

It was AFTER they were baptized (water baptism) in the Name of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 19:1-6 King James Version (KJV)
19
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

How do you explain Acts 1:5?

Acts 1:5 King James Version (KJV)
5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) not many days hence.

This is a reference to the GIFT of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).

"Baptized" means "immersed" and those who receive the gift if the Spirit are *immersed* with the Spirit, in that He comes to (1) regenerate, (2) indwell, (3) seal, and (4) empower the believer (including the fruit of the Spirit and the spiritual gifts).

The Lord Jesus Christ baptizes WITH the Holy Spirit, and then the believer is baptized BY the Spirit into the Body of Christ.

Applying 1 Kings 8:10-11 to help us understand the sealing, baptizing and filling us with the Holy Spirit is contextual sense. Yeshua/Jesus is the Ark of the Covenant placed inside of our hearts, He carries the Presence of God inside Him, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and Yeshua/Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit.

Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19 New International Version (NIV)
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Solomon built, consecrated, dedicated and placed the Ark of the Covenant inside the Temple in Jerusalem, THEN God filled the Temple with His Glory Cloud. It was a phenomenon.

1 Kings 8:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. 11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.

The same thing happens to us. It's phenomenal! It's God's Will that ALL believers be sealed, baptized and filled with His Holy Spirit.

God sets us apart, consecrates us and seals us with His Holy Spirit when we receive Yeshua/Jesus' Body and Blood.

AFTER sealing us with His Holy Spirit, God baptizes and fills us with His Holy Spirit.

Notice scripture says the Apostles laid hands on Phillip and he from then on worked signs and wonders. Based on that, we can assume Paul did the same for Barnabas. As well as the Corinthians. But notice Phillip could not do the same for the Samarians. Only the Apostles could give them the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Check out Acts 13:1-3.

"Now in the Antioch community, there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen (brought up since childhood with Herod the Tetrarch), and Saul. While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Ruach ha-Kodesh said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' Then after fasting, praying, and laying hands on them, they sent them off."

You are assuming the apostles did not lay hands on these. The only scripture we have is that the baptism and the gifts came only through the two outpourings or through an Apostle's hands. Their existing does not show how they came into existence. We can only prove it was through an apostle's hands from scripture.

The OP is trying to promote false doctrine. So how about this:

THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVEN TO OVER 3,000 BELIEVING JEWS AND NOT ONE OF THEM SPOKE IN TONGUES!
no

cessastionism is false doctrine

I mean where do you folks get off calling everything YOU have not experienced false?

you do have quite a few good things to say but this is not one of them

the Holy Spirit is not parked somewhere twiddling His thumbs

it is disgusting the way people constantly denigrate what THEY PERSONALLY CHOOSE to disbelieve

and you have ZERO knowledge if anyone spoke in tongues of the 3000+ when those gathered in the upper room received the Holy Spirit BUT we DO know that those in THAT room ALL spoke in tongues so it is really a jump to ASSUME no one else did ESPECIALLY when so many afterwards did speak in tongues when they were saved

cessationism is the devil's doctrine and that is the doctrine that is false

further, we do know that the gift of tongues continued even though some abused it. Paul had alot to say about that INCLUDING
do not forbid speaking in tongues and that was AFTER he corrected the misuse of the gift

Oh yes we are. You simply missed it. So here is the actual Scripture:

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one Body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Cor 12:13)

What is Paul revealing here? That while Christ baptizes us WITH the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit IMMERSES US (baptizes us) into the Body of Christ. That is how every believer is joined to that one Body in which Christ is the Head.

It's the SAME HOLY SPIRIT that ALL believers are being sealed, baptized and filled with BY YESHUA/JESUS.

We have 100% knowledge that none of them spoke in tongues. Here's the proof.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. (Acts 2:41)

This tells us that they received Christian baptism by immersion AFTER being baptized WITH the Holy Ghost (receiving the gift of the Spirit, v. 38). But had 3,000+ spoken in tongues, that verse would have said "were baptized AND SPOKE IN TONGUES".

I was addressing the OP, not your post. Well take a look at another verse where the Holy Spirit is mentioned but nothing about tongues:

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the Word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31).
is salvation mentioned in every verse that also mentions Jesus?

duh

the thing is, the people who wrote the NT actually BELIEVED what they wrote and the Holy Spirit filling people most likely implies speaking in tongues

you are trying to create a doctrine by pointing to omission

like I said, when the receiver or audience of said letters, instructions and so on did NOT have to have the basics explained to them over and over and over like so many do today

they were BELIEVERS not scoffers

nope

only people who are cessationists would point to something like that

you have absolutely NO IDEA whatsoever who did or did not speak in tongues

they were no making that big a deal out of it because it was NORMAL

you have zero proof of what you claim but it seems you would like to create a false doctrine from it

No, you are wrong.
Since you received SCRIPTURE (not my opinion) what you just said is that God the Holy Spirit was wrong to have Paul write what He wrote. That is very serious denial of the Word of God.

"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one Body" are the words of the Holy Ghost.

The Spirit is not the Son nor the Father
The Father is not the Spirit nor the Son
The Son is not the Spirit nor the Father

right

John the Baptist was clear that Jesus is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit

it is also clear, that the gifts of the Spirit are given by God...the sad flip side of all of this, is that people actually think they can confer gifts on people without God saying 'yes' or fancy themselves to be something God never called them to be

you do NOT 'work up' the Holy Spirit. or teach people to speak in tongues by telling them to make funny sounds

I completely understand why some people are so opposed to speaking in tongues in many cases, but in others it is a matter of pride

The Holy Spirit entering the soul is the new birth.

I don't want to get into it with the poster above, but he is wrong

the Holy Spirit does not enter our souls...our souls are already alive

alive but sinful

the Holy Spirit quickens our SPIRITS and creates new life in us and enables us to commune with God once again

our sins are forgiven, but the soul is not the seat of the Holy Spirit
