I see well you cannot test prophecy it is a manifestation of the spirit and you have no control over what is being said or when it is said. you read the poem I wrote right?
that was a prophecy given to me but I didn't know what I was going to say when I started writing it if you have the gift there is no need to test it because it will come to pass on it's own and will be confirmed by others of the same voice you were not wrong about the revival but I just thought I would let you know that prophecy doesn't work that way
Also just to warn you if you want the gift you can ask for it and it be given but it comes at a cost many will not recieve it they will attack or mock and you will undergo a lot of spiritual attacks I feel you are being attacked right now aren't you?

@Brasspen I just saw your prayer request you are indeed being attacked that comes with the role oh and also when I said you cannot test prophecy I meant to say you cannot test it in that way there are ways to test it scripture is a great way but also if you know someone with a prophetic voice they can confirm it for you

Every time I hear the scriptures, it is what is cycled up in my thinking.
Psalm 119:11

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Our thinking is to be transformed by knowing the word then, when we meet situations in our life, the word informs us what is true and good.
There is nothing we can know or need to know that the scriptures doesn't deal with. Knowing the scriptures is how you develop rationales to deal with life.
There is nothing a prophet can say today that is not a repeat of what has already been said. They formed the foundation of God's people along with the apostles. Foundations do not get laid continually. There are no prophets appointed for today.
Ephesians 2:20
having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,

The problem is what you are talking about is so "airy fairy" that no-one would know what it actually means. We are to study the word for a reason. We don't come to God with a "blank slate" as you suggest. We come with the knowledge of Christ and if you're a new Christian, you won't be knowing very much but it is enough. We learn to walk by faith in the word we have, not look for answers through mystical means to appease our insecurities.

God confirmed Joel's prophecy by Peter(Acts 2)
Acts 2 is still being fulfilled as long as the church remains.
Who are you O man to say God can't/won't use a modern day prophet, when He has 2 preaching in Revelation as well as an angel in the sky doing so?
Guess what? those three will be prophesying, yet the scriptures are complete.
Prophecies will continue to come, because God ordained it in Acts 2 for all christians.
But woe unto them who will not receive them!

Seems to me plenty here knows what it means the spirit speaks to the spirit and yes we are to study the scriptures but that isn't to say he won't also speak through his prophets think of all the times people back in the day had the torah yet he still spoke through his prophets think of jesus the pharisee's knew the scriptures by heart yet couldn't recognize Jesus for who he was you speak of rationalizing but that is carnal type thinking. I have seen people who know the scriptures very well and those who are to spiritual and not sound enough in scripture we need a balance of both if you are so sure this is not a prophecy and there are no more prophets then prove it with scripture you should be able to if what you say is true
just to point in the right direction in both greek and heberew the word revival means new life regeneration and bringing back to things that once was In John 3:8, Jesus teaches that regeneration is the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit who produces new hearts in the elect. As the wind moves wherever it wills, the Spirit moves in whomever He wills.
The Pharisees had memorized.. Not known.. The Scriptures.

You should stop treating it as such.
Ultimately, the Scripture properly taught will prove it to be right, or EVIL.
We all must give account and stand before Him alone for evaluation.

If they hear voices as you are saying then it could be that they either don't know his voice or it could be demonic influence but the voice I am spoeaking of is one with no words and a voice with no sound it is an inner voice not in the mind but the heart and where the spirit resides
I am not saying that his word is not how he speaks but it isn't the only way his voice is everywhere and in everything if you know how to listen you can find it in nature you can find it in a childs laughter you can find it just by watching an ant carry a leaf to it's ant hill
