I find the interpretation interesting but it would have to reconcile with Gen 3:20, "And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living."
Under the theory that other men existed prior (concurrently?) to Adam, every descendant of Adam and Eve would have had to have bred with all other non-Adam humans (be fruitful and multiply over the course of 800 years) meaning those original non-Adam humans would have died out by the time Eve was named (in order to qualify her as the mother of all living). This would make an interesting concept for the land of Nod and who Cain's wife was (a hybrid). The concept seems compatible but there is also seemingly nothing to suggest it is the case.
Under the theory that other men existed prior (concurrently?) to Adam, every descendant of Adam and Eve would have had to have bred with all other non-Adam humans (be fruitful and multiply over the course of 800 years) meaning those original non-Adam humans would have died out by the time Eve was named (in order to qualify her as the mother of all living). What about the creation story there was nothing and then the lord created everything . When would the other humans have been created on earth if it was made a few days prior ?
