We have the freedom to choose as we want, however there are consequences for our choices. I've addressed Romans 14 in one of my earlier posts. Verses in this chapter are commonly taken out of context to support lawlessness. The context for romans 14 is FASTING. There was a big debate at the time about fasting and people were judging others about what they eat (meat vs vegetarian as we see in verse 2) and which days they fast (as we see in verse 5).
In the Fathers law, other than the day of atonement, there is no law telling us when or how to fast. So judging others based off of their fasting choices would be unlawful. Without understanding the context, verses in this chapter are cherry picked to support breaking dietary laws and the sabbath... However the people spoken to here were keeping those laws, the problem was they were judging others based of of man made laws (when and how to fast).
Its a big misconception that as followers of the Messiah that we should not judge. As multiple scriptures say we just need to make sure we judge "righteously" (according to Gods law) and not hypocritically (when we are actively committing the same sins we are judging on).
yep freedom to choose indeed
“For
as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
But that
no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And
the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Galatians 3:10-14 KJV
so why would someone choose a curse of a broken covenant that was taken away by the lord so we can live again ?
it’s almost like you guys that promote Moses law have never read Moses law and have no idea what’s in the book of the law that you have to keep when you promote it as essential what you guys are missing is what’s written you can’t hear but , listen to the scripture choose to leave the curse in this way
Do you have this choice to choose
“Now we know that
what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and
all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Romans 3:19-20 KJV
you can continue in the knowledge of sin and punishment and guilt or you can accept the gospel which is as always the opposite it’s the knowledge of repentance and remission of sins
you can’t seem to understand it’s one plan the New Testament requires all mankind to be made guilty of thier sins the law is for that purpose , the rest of the plan was to now reveal the grave and truth of God that remits those sins and that covenant that is cursed forever because they broke it and anyone who ever breaks it is cursed which is all
Men , now we need to have the curse removed and receive the spirit from Jesus
there are consequences in the choice your correct chi posing Moses law is the wrong choice , choosing Christ and the gospel is salvstion for
anyone who will hear and believe
you can choose to wear that yoke meant to hold the world guilty and can never justify you before God or the other choice is to get baptized and consider that you sinned under law and died with Christ and are no longer under the law but now are with Christ and his word
“Know ye not, brethren, (for
I speak to them that know the law,) how that
the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Wherefore,
my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ;
that ye should be married to another, even
to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.”
Romans 7:1, 4 KJV
nite he uses the law like our husband , now there was a death , so we are now free to marry another husband not the law , but the gospel
I’m not sure why you can’t hear this but it’s really clear if you just read it and accept that the Bible has it right and no
Matter how much we insist it’s always going to say what it says we’re supposed to let it change our understanding not ignore it
all I can really do is share the things that are clear like the first wuote above why choose a curse when salvation is also offered ?
