I agree partly with this. Certainly, it is true Christ died for sinners. But, which sinners?? All of them? If so, then God has failed. Because many sinners die daily having never met God.

Ephesians is very clear about this. Only the people God predestined before the foundation of the world are saved.

"Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. 4 For He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love 5 He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will, 6 to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved." Eph 1:3-6

"When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. 14 He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory." Ephesians 1:13-14

Regardless of what you have heard in church, or evangelistic rallies, God chose us. We do not chose him. I tried to believe so hard. I went to church, I read the Bible, but it made no sense. Then my future husband explained to gospel, repentance for sin, and Jesus death & resurrection. Then God spoke, told me to believe, and in an instant, God had saved me. I know God loved me, and Romans 5:8 became an important verse for me!

It's a very hard saying. But not without precedence in the Bible. God loved Jacob, but hated Esau. Joseph loved Rachel, not Leah. God does not love everyone. But he does love the predestined or the elect! As for us, we don't know who the elect are. That is why we are told to preach the gospel to everyone, and let God do the saving!
Loved this paragraph from your post:

"Regardless of what you have heard in church, or evangelistic rallies, God chose us. We do not chose him. I tried to believe so hard. I went to church, I read the Bible, but it made no sense. Then my future husband explained to gospel, repentance for sin, and Jesus death & resurrection. Then God spoke, told me to believe, and in an instant, God had saved me. I know God loved me, and Romans 5:8 became an important verse for me!"

I assume here, that you meant God spoke through His Word to you and not actually spoke to you personally.

Your testimony shows all the power of Regeneration, spoken of in John 3:3-10. Once the Holy Spirit has quickened a person, they are instantly able to hear and see the Truth. Oh what a miracle it is, every time the Spirit replaces that heart of stone, in one of God's Elect, with that new heart of flesh - soft, sensitive and receptive to the Word of God. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Mat_28:18 And Jesus came to them and spoke unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth.

ALL Authority. Authority over everything ever created. Whether it be Angels, Man, Birds, Fish, Animals, Plants, Atomic particles and Sub-atomic particles. Christ has Authority over all. To few ponder this great Truth. If they did, then they would understand that Salvation is all of God and that from Eternity past, in His Eternal Decree.

Love reading your posts. Take care.

OK!

Which part of my post is UNBIBLICAL?

I can provide Scripture where we know what I stated is Biblical..
Sadly - for one like Katia, she is victim, to this Biblical teaching, unless the Lord does something for her:

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;
2Ti 4:4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.

So sad to see.

We are all victims - thus the reason for a Savior named Jesus the Christ - the only Begotten Son of God

Katia said she was going to read thru the Bible again - are you praying for her and interceding on her behalf as Christ does for us?

Love covers a multitude of sins - 1 Peter 4:8

Well technically, the last thing she said, was that she had had enough of this and was leaving this chat forum for good.

In retrospect, I should not have chose the word "victim". I should have said, Katia had "manifested" the truth of 1 Tim. 4:3,4.

While I harbor no ill will towards Katia, I do not pray to intercede for her because I have not the knowledge of God. If Katia is one of the chosen (Eph. 1:4), then she will come to the truth, at God's appointed time. If she is not, then she will not. This sometimes seems cold and uncaring to us but it is the teaching of Scripture and the surety of Salvation. For this reason, I do not pray as an intercessor - only Christ has the Authority and wisdom and knowledge as to perform the work of intercessor with the Father. If Katia is not one of the chosen, then it would be pointless to pray against the Decreed will of God.

The only, Biblically oriented prayer that can be offered, is this: Father, if it be your will, then may one day, Katia, come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask this on Katia's behalf but not my will Father, but your will be done. Obviously, this prayer could be shortened and go straight to the point. "Father, may your will be done in all things." Scripture teaches that God does not hear the prayers of the lost (John 9:31), and only hears the prayers of those doing His will. Therefore, even a prayer from one who is saved, must be in the will of the Father to be heard. This is why the Elect have the assistance of the Holy Spirit.

Rom 8:26 And in like manner the Spirit also is helping our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered;
Rom 8:27 and he that is searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he is making intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Only Jesus Christ - always - prayed in the will of His Father.

Crazy stuff friend - You and i do not know - only God knows and therefore since she is here it is the opportunity to do the will of God which is to Love thy neighbor as thyself.

You do err about not praying for Katia -
Have you never read about the Will of God where HE said: "My House shall be a House of prayer for all nations"

I do not come to tell you how to pray friend but only to qualify what prayer should be. If you go through the New Testament and look at how Prayer is defined, you will see it is not as broad as the world of religion would have one to believe. The examples in Scripture are related to the following:

Prayers to God's praise and ones of thanksgiving. Prayers for the Saints, thus God's people. Prayers for God's assistance in our personal needs, not our personal wants.

As to prayers for the nations or those outside of a saved relationship, they are limited in this way:

1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.

Scripture teaches that believers are to pray for all men. Not all men in number but all men in manner. In other words, we are to pray for all manner of men, regardless of their station, which is defined in verse 2, as those having authority over our lives. For what purpose? This is given in verse 2b - that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and with all sincerity. To put this in a modern vernacular, that the ones running the country shall not interfere with our ability to worship God and/or threaten our lives because of what we believe. Sadly, this is still taking place in some parts of the world.

Why can it not be for both? Just because the Calvinists do not want all men to be saved? Just like Jonah? No, the proper interpretation is all men regardless of number or station in life.

Then pray in the limited way you believe you should.

This much i know about the Lord Jesus Christ: He came to save sinners

This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst.
But for this very reason I was shown mercy, so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His perfect patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

Katia stated that she is reading the word which is able to save her soul.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6

Pray for Katia to hear God's words which are Spirit and Life to all who receive them.

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
