[QUOTE"HealthAndHappiness, post: 5108657, member: 317081"]Titus 3:5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us;”
I was just answering your question.

It should also clear up any confusion the OP has about Paul's salvation.[/QUOTE]ok 😊

It confuses me because the belief is based upon according to something else.

It's like saying according to what the camera says you must have cancer so where going to have to open you up to investigate.

Hello good morning, I think getting knock down to the ground, by Jesus , and then being rebuked by Jesus, then being blinded, and then getting his sight back, kind of made him believe,:)

I think Paul was pointing to the more. There is more to the Christ life here and now than salvation. Paul’s focus was pretty much…yup your saved, great! now live like your saved. You are now citizens of the Kingdom so live in that reality today . There is more available for us today than just being saved. There is redemption available to us.Access to a transformational life through the life of Christ. Being saved was meant to be the initial step into the Kingdom. Individual Salvation was not meant to be the primary objective of our faith. Salvation is the reality the believer lives out of. Eternally secure I now have access to a redemptive life and Kingdom living today that goes on into eternity

The faith of Jesus Christ justifies the believer. Christ's work on the cross was enough.
There is more than the cross through Jesus and the justification . The cross was important for justification . Now that we are justified there is more available today.

still confused
It says untill we have reçieved possession of it.
It looks like there saying we believe something we have been told.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye [Greek epiginṓskō] not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

This verse tells us if we do not know the Lord Jesus Christ is in us, we have failed the test.

2 Corinthians 13:6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

This verse tells us that Paul knew the Lord Jesus Christ was in him and, therefore, Paul had not failed the test.

in 2 Cor 13:5, the words "know ye" are translated from the Greek word epiginṓskō (from 1909 /epí, "on, fitting" which intensifies 1097 /ginṓskō, "know through personal relationship") – properly, apt, experiential knowing, through direct relationship
- HELPS Word-studies.

We can know in this lifetime, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Lord Jesus Christ is in us ... and because the Lord Jesus Christ is in us we have eternal life ...

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Repent and believe the gospel, deny oneself, follow His steps, etc.
And by "follow His steps" you mean keeping the Sabbath and other Jewish traditions?

Faith without works is dead.
We are still saved by faith and not by works (Eph 2:8-9).

Salvation is a gift, given when we choose to believe the gospel (Eph 1:13; Rom 10:9).
Rewards are earned, and may be lost.

Faith without works is dead.
So we have faith plus works = salvation

Only it does not. True faith will produce works, but works do not save or contribute to Christ's completed work...He said "IT IS FINISHED'

And as an aside: here we go again. :sleep::sleep:

The Lord will provide, Faith and the works of obedience goes together.
Repent and believe the gospel, deny oneself, follow His steps, etc.
You know, that follow the gospel is a very vague answer. Further, so called 'works of obedience, can vary from person to person...that is if you believe God wants a personal relationship with us and not a list of dos and donts

Doing the things that are pleasing in His sight.
Nice dodge. Those things that are "pleasing in His sight" include keeping the Sabbath, obeying the Ten Commandments, and keeping other Jewish customs. If we don't do this things we can't be assured of salvation. Nice.

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬-‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.””
‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭34‬-‭35‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Remember the story of Abraham, the LORD will provide through obedience with his son Isaac offered him up for a sacrifice?

The fruits of the spirit is a separate manifestation to what you reçieve later on.

The fruits of the spirit Jesus, refers to a manifestation here and now.
But salvation refers to a manifestation in a future event.

It's not confusing friend that you can only know that your saved, by what you've been told.
