I disagree...when one walks with the Spirit for many yrs.....they should bear fruit....they should be focused on being more like Jesus.

Each day we walk with the Lord...we should ask/pray to be more like Jesus and die to self more and more each day....

That should be one of the main focus....for a Born Again.

Let your light shine out from within my heart Lord..I want to be more and more like Jesus...Amen.
Being more like Jesus includes not swaying to and fro regarding God’s Truth.

As we grow we should become more and more like Jesus.....

I see many who confess to being saved..yet I see no fruit whatsoever......they never appear any different in character.....

That to me....is very concerning.....you shall know them by their fruit....that scripture speaks volumes to me.

Love one another is also very important for a believer. "

We should also be very careful about deciding who is saved or who is not saved. The only one who can make that determination is God the Creator. Yes, love one another is important but just as important is:

The discernment of God's Word as it is portrayed on any social media site, including this one. As we grow in knowledge and wisdom and discernment, we should be able to decipher what is being said is truth, half-truth or a twisting of the Word of God. Being able to achieve those qualities (spiritual ones) does not happen over night but comes from praying for them, developing them through the Holy Spirit we have residing within us from the moment of our salvation. Oh and least I forget, we must "submit" ourselves to the leadership of the Holy Spirit

Ok, so how about we take out the list and look at ourselves and see exactly where we fall in it. Are we hitting everyone of those fruits, every day, all day long?

That is all of our focus to walk in the Spirit. But can you honestly say that you do this everyday, all day long, without any fail. I think this is where the Bible states that we should judge ourselves and then we won't be judged and to not put a stumbling block in your brothers way...It is to God whether he stands or not. God is able to make him to stand.

I admit my "fruit bearing" is often soft, non-consistent. But there is one thing I will continue to do. I will rebuke any words I believe are against the Truth as presented in the Word of God. Always.

Everyday when I look at myself, I can find my faults, if I look closely enough. That is why everyday, I have to ask the Lord to help me and trust in his grace and salvation. I have to honestly say Lord, I fall short and cannot do this without you...I am weak but you are strong...Have mercy upon me.

There were times in the past, where I tried to do this on my own and would make even the smallest mistake and feel so lost and without hope. I had to and I am still learning to turn it over to Jesus and let him help me and believe and trust in his wondrous grace.

The more I tried to be perfect in my own strength, the more I failed, but the more I give it to him and believe in him to see me through, the closer I get. Yet at times I still fall short. It is only by the grace of God that I can stand.

Hi precious sister.

Don't bother doing that. Many on here who will point out your faults😎

Joking aside it's a good thing to do and evidence of the Holy Spirit in us.

I do it as well along with asking the Holy Spirit to reveal things I have done/do and didn't realise it.

It's an eye opener if one is willing to sit and listen.

As I said a while back on this thread "Prayer beware, what you ask for will be answered"

That's my experience and boy it's tough to have stuff revealed that you were not aware off but evidence that the Holy Spirit will reveal and help.

Very well said :)

There are those, too, who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but they can grow in wisdom and strength if they have the capacity to be honest. Unfortunately, some are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty :(
