Here’s the link to that very post @Fastfredy0 if you don’t believe me.

He‘s teaching God chose him based off what He knew he’d do. That’s a meritorious grace. And that’s not grace at all, but merit. The very antithesis of grace.
Hey, I am gullible .. so I believe everyone. But I believe you, I've seen enough evidence.

Aside: Not SUPER gullible so no one try to hit me up for money ;)

The Father never went after him when he could have. Of course he welcomed him back. What else would he do??

Even you admit he has to return to regain sonship.

Where ever I go the Father goes with me....as in Holy Spirit.....did you know that?

Loss of salvation not in view? I do not see it that way.

As to me acquiring a very simplified reading of Hebrews 10:26...

Thank you!

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent fooled Eve through his craftiness, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3).

And this simplicity extends to his words; Like our Lord said, "unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not see the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:3).

Even a child can read Hebrews 10:26 and come to the conclusion that you better not be naughty. God knows who's naughty and who's nice. :)
2 Corinthians 11:3 in the NIV reads, "But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ", which is quite different than the verse you quoted form the KJV.

Matthew 18:3 in the NIV reads, "And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven", which is also quite different than the KJV.

Hebrews 10:26-27 in the NIV reads, "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. "

There are several problems with your post... 1) Taking single verses out of context can often lead to problems as verses (and chapters) are not part of the Bible; 2) English has changed over 400+ years; the meanings of words and phrases are not the same after four centuries. Nobody today clearly understands "your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ" . 3) God is not Santa Claus.

You base part of your post on the mistranslated word "simplicity". It means something quite different in modern English than it did hundreds of years ago. Don't mix "apples and oranges", i.e., 400-year-old archaic English and the 21st century English of today. It can only lead to misunderstanding and false doctrine.

Repent to you???.........are you being serious??.....are you God?.....I think not!!...I struggle around people like you....I may have to repent to God later.....as my thoughts are pretty uncoloured at the moment, reading your words!
it’s funny

he wants me to repent when he himself if guilty and refuses to even acknowledge his own sin

it’s ok though this is an ongoing thing. If you look over the past few years at any conversation he has been involved in as far as people standing up to him. This is what you get.

He pushes the limit. Then accuses. Then tried to blame the other then in the end he starts to talk all nice for whatever reason

It’s old news. and old habits. I guess they are hard to break
anyway thanks

I think you are extending an 'olive leaf', I am willing to reciprocate  though I am sure I will get flack from @preacher4truth and @Sackcloth-N-Ashes. To those two I say I am probably being foolish but I will try one more time. Hmmmm ... suppose to try 70 times 7, but I am only good for two ... lol .... guess I am proposing future sin (hmmm) ... well, I am a weak Christian in this area....lol. Hmmm, 70 X 7 = 490 minus 2 ... looks like I am 488 short

Dude (said in a friendly manner) ... I am willing to respond to you if you so desire, but on two conditions
1) I apologize to you for whatever it was that upset you. I honestly don't know what it was, but I assure you I did not purposely lie and although I apologize, it is NOT FOR LYING as I did not do that (at least not intentionally).
2) Don't call me a liar or insinuate I lie again. I don't need the hassle. If I say something that you don't agree with, just point it out. Don't assume I am lying. I am just doing my best; I'm not out to 'get you' on a personal basis (unless you attack me personally as I suck at turning the other cheek to many times). I will attack your opinions I disagree with and you are free to attack mine vigorously; just no personal condemnations.

That being said, I propose a 1 week cooling off period ...
.... and I will take down the dart board with your picture on it (j/k)

Aside: I am not a strong enough Christian to try again after this ;)
Hey bro (and yes I consider you my brother)

I have no problem hearing it even discussing

But the problem as you can see is. When it comes to P4T. There is nondiscussion

It’s his way or the highway. If he states it is fact well by golly it is fact and if anyone tells him it is not fact (especially our group). Stand back and pop some popcorn

Maybe we can have a discussion on our own. I tried to ignore him once and got called all Kinds of names Because
I had him on ignore because I felt it was just not worth getting into these heated discussion which never lead to anything positive

Anyway. Thanks, let’s see where this goes. Of course my last post to you was direct and to the point. I hope you were not offended

Deu 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

John 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

Jackrosie, God said it to Moses, but yet He gave Israel a bill of divorce because they chose not to serve Him anymore. So either, God is lying or you don’t understand John 10:29. The word deliver in Deuteronomy is natsal and it means to snatch away, strip or plunder, to be torn out or away.

While we are in covenant with God we cannot be snatched away, but when we choose to leave He will give us a bill of divorce, just like he did with Israel.
Gandolf...

the difference between the OT covenant and the NT covenant is huge.

old is a contract of you do this, I do that.
new is a will of inheritance.

They practiced lawlessness BECAUSE He NEVER knew them. As do all who He never knows.

if you want to KNOW God, choose to practice righteousness and you will soon come to know Him. ☺

Isaiah 1:16
Wash and cleanse yourselves. Remove your evil deeds from My sight. Stop doing evil!

Job 17:9
Yet the righteous will hold to his way, and the one with clean hands will grow stronger.

Isaiah 58:2
For day after day they seek Me and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God."

so simple. become as a child and you will enter the Kingdom.

Can you show me a scripture that states believing in Jesus for salvation... as in yielding to Him is a meritorious work in God's view?

Also, can you show me a scripture that states grace is "irresistible" ........this is really the crux of your entire system so make a case for it.
Im not a Calvinist, or at least I think I’m not. I don’t follow doctrines, nor study them....but His grace when properly defined for our time period, is irresistible I believe. Is pure love like Mary Magdalenes.

Amen! Matthew 7:21 - Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. *John 6:40 - For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

These many people (unbelievers) in Matthew 7:22 had the wrong foundation. They were trusting in their works to save them and NOT IN CHRIST ALONE. Jesus NEVER knew them which means they were NEVER saved. Notice they said, "Lord, Lord, didn't "WE," (vs. 22) when the correct answer would have been, "Lord, Lord didn't "YOU." Seeking salvation by works is not the will of the Father.

John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. The term "know" implies intimate, experiential knowledge, through a relationship with Him, not merely theoretical knowledge. These many people who were "nominal" Christians were not true converts.

So is it your position that all who know Him do follow the law and those who don’t, don’t know Him? It seems to be what you’re saying but i’ve not heard anyone apply that both ways which is actually logical.

The are theological positions that insist that real christians do x,y, z and never do a, b, c. That’s their whole argument. It’s actually called the true scotsman fallacy.

Now they never use the logical conclusion that if you engage in said behavior, you aren’t a real christian. It’s only used to disarm scripture. This is not applied to themselves or others as a measure.

The idea those in this scripture believed in OSAS AND practiced lawlessness thinking they were destined for Heaven no matter if they chose later to practice lawlessness does not occur to them. This actually a good example of believers thinking believing their theology is what saves them. They were in error.

The bad news is none were judged for their faith, only their obedience which is the opposite of lawlessness. They did not obey. Doesn’t say what they believed except they thought they were saved.

1 Peter 1:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
