Then stop your constant sinning.
I am in the process of daily putting to death the deeds of the flesh, (Romans 8:13) because I know I am not a slave to sin, (Romans 6:14) that I have been redeemed from sin, (Romans 6:18) and I am a servant of Christ.

Mr. budman, we are not a light switch
AMEN. Christians are called to daily putt to death the deeds of the flesh, (Romans 8:13) because WE know that WE are not slaves to sin, (Romans 6:14) that WE have been redeemed from sin, (Romans 6:18) and WE ARE servantsof Christ. :)

You cannot be a slave to sin and a slave to Christ both. No one can serve two masters.

There are Christian who consider me a very strong Christians and for soul winning team, our team is considered "a strong pack"

But deep down I know that I'm a broken sinner, a mess, the mess that the public does not see

But partly glad that privacy protects our witness
You know........the man that looked down, would not look to heaven and beat upon his chest while pleading for mercy was the one that went away justified..........God takes great delight in mercy........and NONE are righteous NO NOT ONE......

Then stop your hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc., sinning.

If you only committed 10 sins a day (low estimate, considering our thoughts, words, and deeds) that's 70 sins a week, 280 sins a month, 3360 sins a year, 16,800 sins in 5 years, and 33,600 sins a decade.

If you have a single one of those sins attributed to your account, you are hopelessly lost, damned, on your way to a fiery hell.
Agreed. That's where JUSTIFICATION comes in. Then AFTER we are justified, we are called to put to death the deeds of the body, put off the deeds of the flesh, put on the deeds of the Spirit, and reckon ourselves DEAD to sin and ALIVE to Christ.

Yes, it is a process, but deliverance from slavery is INSTANTANEOUS. We are translated from servants of sin to servants of Christ. This reality does not play out instantly, but that does not change the fact that it is a reality.

The Bible says we are not slaves to sin. That is enough to settle it for me.

I do that every day. But I'm still not a slave to sin. You know why? Because the BIBLE says I am not a slave to sin.

Romans 6:22- But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

The KJV says: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

But you certainly can commit sins, and you do commit sins - doncha, BigMac?
Certainly, the same as everyone else. Anyone who is not as perfect as Jesus in what they say, think, do, in their motives, and intentions, not as pure as Jesus is a sinner. That's why we need His Priestly Mediation.

If the Old Man were dead, you wouldn't sin at all, would you, Mac?
We sin to the degree that we fail to reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive to Christ. That does not mean we are slaves to sin, it means we fail to appropriate the freedom Christ has given us.

The Bible clearly teaches that we are not slaves to sin.

And you "practice" sin Mac. You do it every day. Day after day after day after day.

So come down off your self-righteous high horse.
The verse right before that one says "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh "

and don't forget Galatians 5:24- And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

It's our New Nature that is free, unblemished, free from sin, holy and righteous. The Flesh is the exact opposite. If you were free from the Old Man you wouldn't you commit a single sin. Why in the world can't you understand that?
It did not say "your new nature is free", it said "you are free".

You cannot cut off a believer's walk from His New Nature. That is like Neo- Gnosticism, saying that the body can do as it pleases and be in bondage while the spirit (new nature) is free.

For the salvation losers and or those that say salvation can be forfeited....

The following is a comparison between the bible and salvation losers......and make no mistake...this is exactly what they peddle and or how they butcher the word of God by their losable salvation....

Bible --> I will never leave thee or forsake thee
Salvation Losers ---->Jesus is a liar and will leave us and forsake us

Bible --->We are saved to the uttermost and kept by the power of God through faith
Salvation losers --->The power of God is weak and inept, we are not saved to the uttermost and GOD does not keep us

Bible -->Jesus begins, finishes and completes the work of faith in us
Salvation losers ---> WE must maintain our faith because JESUS does not finish and complete the work of faith in us

Bible --> He that believes on the SON is having everlasting/eternal life
Salvation losers --->He that believes and MAINTAINS his belief on the SON is having temporal life based upon what he does or does not do

Bible --> Therefore we conclude a man is justified by faith without the deeds/works of the law
Salvation losers -->James out of context tells us we are justified by our works before God

Bible -->It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe
Salvation losers --->It pleased God by works, church membership, baptism, pew jumping, speaking in tongues, back flipping down the isle, saying 57 hail Mary's, taking the Lord's supper, keeping the sacraments and a dozen other religiously zealous man made efforts to save them

Bible -->NOTHING can separate us from the love of GOD
Salvation losers -->Numerous things can separate us from the love of GOD

Bible--->We are in the Son's hand, the Father's hand and NO AN can remove us from that position
Salvation losers -->The above is false, we can remove ourselves because God is weak and inept

Bible -->We are sealed unto the day of redemption
Salvation losers-->The seal of God can be broken because God is weak and inept

Bible --->
Where sin abounds, grace abounds the more
Salvation losers--> We qualify, quantify sin and God's grace only covers those small sins when we mess up and for sure we have never lost it, but eternal security believers lose it because they believe they can live any way they want and live like the devil

Bible --->He that believes on the Son is not condemned
Salvation losers --> Believers are condemned all the time and returned to being goats after becoming sheep

Bible --> I will lose nothing, but raise it up the last day
Salvation losers -->God loses people all the time because he is too weak to keep them saved

Bible--> We are born again from above by INCORRUPTIBLE SEED
Salvation losers --> We are not born of incorruptible seed, because that seed can be corrupted and one die lost after being born again

Bible --> The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable
Salvation losers -->God's free GIFT of salvation can be revoked because GOD will break ALL the above promises and send one to hell after being saved

ETC.............I dare to say that salvation losers are false.....and what they peddle is not of GOD and as blasphemous as it comes......the above is a SMALL sample of scriptural promises that MUST BE DENIED, REJECTED and or SWEPT UNDER THE TABLE to peddle a dime store salvation that cannot be found in the bible and or a dime store salvation that devalues the work, promises and ministry of CHRIST!!!!!!!

Before you go may I suggest you study what it means for us to grow in grace in our personal life and to become more like Christ in our daily walk with him. Paul said to pray continually and we can do this as we go about our work, thinking of Him rather than the things of the world, which in time will grow strangely dim, no longer important to us and therefore not desirable, so removing temptation out of harms way. Jesus spoke of us as being a light to the world and in this way we can bring glory to his name. This is just the start of the race that we run to the end of our days getting further and further away from the things of the world as we draw closer to Him. May God bless in your walk with Jesus.

Yes, you are correct. I am not a slave to sin because the Bible says I am not.

Romans 6:22- But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

You cannot be a slave to sin and a slave to righteousness.

Romans 6:16- Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? It says "whether...or" not "both...and" ;)

...and yes, I need mercy and grace every minute of every hour of every day. That is why I have a HIGH PRIEST named Jesus.

I suppose you don't, (need mercy and grace every day), huh? o_O

This is a real insight into your interpretation of scripture.
If none are righteous, all Gods statements about the righteous are sarcastic.
But this interpretation does not work. Take these passages

26 If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin, he will die for it;
because of the sin he has committed he will die.
27 But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does
what is just and right, he will save his life.
Eze 18

Put simply
wickedness => just / right => life
righteous => sin => die

There is a simple real life example, one can be just and righteous, and live, or one can
sinful and evil and die, going from being righteous or going from being wicked.

There is no sarcasm here.

Jesus criticised the teachers of the law for their lack of heart, no faithfulness, mercy and
justice, with hearts full of greed and self indulgence. They did not follow their own teaching.

Put simply the righteous are righteous if God declares them as such. But this righteousness
is through faith, and not deeds, though righteous faith produces a righteous heart which creates
righteous actions.

Romans 6:1- Comments...

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Regardless of what Bud says, the issue is not whether a Christian sins or not, the issue is does a Christian "continue" in sin. The word "continue" is a translation of the Greek word "epimeno" which means
to persevere, continue; with the dative of the thing continued in (cf. Winer's De verb. comp. etc. Part ii., p. 10f): τῇ ἁμαρτία, Romans 6:1; τῇ ἀπιστία, Romans 11:23; τῇ πίστει, Colossians 1:23; in the work of teaching, 1 Timothy 4:16 (τῷ μή ἀδικεῖν, Xenophon, oec. 14, 7; τῇ μνηστεία, Aelian v. h. 10, 15); with the dative of the blessing for which one keeps himself fit: τῇ χάριτι, Acts 13:43 Rec.; τῇχρηστότητι, Romans 11:22; with a participle denoting the action persisted in: John 8:7 Rec.; Acts 12:16; cf. Buttmann, 299f (257); (Winer's Grammar, § 54, 4). Thayers lexicon
2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

ie, how shall we who are dead perservere, continue, persist in sin.

3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

the Old man died with Jesus.

4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

The new man was born. therefore, we are called to put off the old man and put on the new.

5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

If we died with Him, we will live with Him.

6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

We died with Christ, and in that death the body of sin was destroyed

destroyed-
katargeo-
  1. to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency
  2. to deprive of force, influence, power
that henceforth we should not serve sin...because we are no longer slaves to it. :)

7For he that is dead is freed from sin.

He that died with and was crucified with Christ is free from sin, that is free from slavery to sin, set free from the bondage of sin no longer under sin's dominion, because he or she died to it.

8Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

(see note on verse 5)

9Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Death has no power or authority over the risen Christ.

10For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

see above

11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are free from sin in position the moment we believe. That reality is worked out in our lives AS WE RECKON ourselves dead to sin and alive to Christ.

12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Since we are dead to sin, sin should not reign in our mortal bodies. Note- this is not saying a Christian is sinless. It is saying sin does not reign over us. Bud fails to distinguish between the two proposition.

13Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Since we are dead to sin, we are no longer slaves to sin, but we are slaves to God. SO we must forsake our FORMER master and yield to our new Master.

14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

SIn has no authority over us, because it has no longer any grounds to accuse us and subjegate us through guilt

15What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Grace is not a license to sin

16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

You are either a slave to sin or a slave to God. You cannot be both.

17But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

The verb were is past tense. We WERE slaves to sin, but no longer.

18Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

We have been set free from sin to serve a NEW MASTER, (righteousness)

19I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Since we are free from sin and now servants of righteousness, we are to yield ourselves to our master, not sin which is not our master.

20For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

If you are a servant of sin, you cannot be a servant of righteousness. You can only serve one master

21What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

We have been set free from sin, (no longer slaves of it) and are now servants of God.

23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All of this is a gift of God's grace.

I wonder whether this is our testimony of love in Christ.
Jesus cared what everyone thought, and wanted all to follow God and walk in His ways.
No person is beyond hope, even when it appears they have closed the door, things do
change and unexpected situations bring about a different perspective and how someones
loyalties lie.

So in Christ we do care, we do hope as Paul said

4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.
6 It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth.
7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Dear Jesus,

I tried my best today but it wasn't my best.
Do you still love me?
I think you don't.
You see I think that if I don't give my best then I don't truly love you, then you do not truly love me.

You see, my past can dictate my future and I walk in the present.
Do you still love me.

You said many things while on earth.
One thing that sticks out is "Be perfect just as the Father is perfect"
How can I be perfect?
I'm a broken person, I can't be perfect but I want to be.
Do you still love me?

I go to bed and think of all the things I didn't do.
When I do is that wrong?
Or do you want to tell me about the things I did do and encourage me?
Even when I think of the wrong.
Do you still love me?

You see when I reject you I do so because I think you will reject me.
When I do that.
Do you still love me?

Lord I cry my eyes out, I just want to be like you.
But people tell me if I don't do, and do do then I don't really love you or lack faith.
I listen to them and am heavy.
Do you still love me?

I was told once because I was not baptised or spoke in tongues then I was not saved.
But I placed my faith in you.
But they say to me that I do not love you.
Is that true?
Do you love me?

I didn't know my earthly father.
A few shocking memories.
He went to hit my mum, he missed and broke my face.
He laughed and said it's my mum's and my fault.
Did my earthly dad love me. Afterall I deserved it. It affects my life.
Is that love?
God do you love me?

You say you love me.
The bible tells me so.
What is this love?
How does it work?
It's easy to relate to life experiences.
You know this, afterall you created us knowing that this would happen.

Does this love order us to comply and if you don't then I'm gonna break your face?
Seems some think this and preach it.

You said that you loved the world so much that you gave Jesus, so that whoever believes in him will be saved.

That seems the love you have for me.
I don't get it, dont always get but want and to walk in it.

Is that enough?

God do you still love me?

What's a slave to sin?
Is it a believer who has an addiction?
Like I did yet hated it, called out to the Lord for help for goodness knows how many years.

Then he dealt with me, he dealt with the cause of the effect.
Took 30 years.

Was I slave to sin?
If so was I still saved?

or if a car has a flat tire. Probably be the tire was never working in the first place that it's always have that whole that's full of holes
