I am in the process of daily putting to death the deeds of the flesh, (Romans 8:13) because I know I am not a slave to sin, (Romans 6:14) that I have been redeemed from sin, (Romans 6:18) and I am a servant of Christ.
Then stop your hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc., sinning.

If you only committed 10 sins a day (low estimate, considering our thoughts, words, and deeds) that's 70 sins a week, 280 sins a month, 3360 sins a year, 16,800 sins in 5 years, and 33,600 sins a decade.

If you have a single one of those sins attributed to your account, you are hopelessly lost, damned, on your way to a fiery hell.

If I commit 50 sins a day, and you only commit 1, are you any more saved than me?

Where does what I said say "all sin is a choice?"

Apparently, you think if we walk in the Spirit, we will have a infallibly sinless walk?
What sins are "accidental" that God winks at?

Where does what I said say "all sin is a choice?"

Sometimes we sin without knowing it.

Leviticus 5:17- And if a soul sins, and commits any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he did not know it, he is still guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

Doing something in ignorance is not choosing to sin.

As we grow, our sense of sin gets more sensitive.
Get out of the Old Covenant and get with the New.

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (NAS)

Anyone having been born of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to continue sinning, because he has been born of God. (BLB)

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (NAS 1977)
The KJV says: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

But you certainly can commit sins, and you do commit sins - doncha, BigMac?

THE OLD MAN IS DEAD....Romans 6:6- Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

The old man has no power except what we give him. The old man is dead, that is deprived of power. When we sin, we are acting against the reality of who we are, FREE FROM SIN, DEAD TO SIN, because we do not reckon these things to be so.
If the Old Man were dead, you wouldn't sin at all, would you, Mac?

But once again, you do. And you do it daily.

There is a continual battle between the Old and New Natures: "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the Flesh; these things are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." (Galatians 5:17)

We cannot stop sinning, Mac. Not until we go home and receive our glorified bodies. It is impossible to stop sinning. That's why God gets the glory for our salvation. That's why we rely upon Jesus for our righteousness. That's our motivation to serve Him - because we are grateful for His taking all of our sins away. They are completely forgiven and forgotten. Never to be brought up again. No condemnation, no charge against us.

Get it?

Too bad people spout false doctrine like saying Christians are slaves to sin when the Bible clearly says we are not.

Romans 6:22- But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

(you cannot be free from sin and a slave to sin at the same time, unless you hold to Gnostic dualism of "part of me free, and part of me slave")
It's our New Nature that is free, unblemished, free from sin, holy and righteous. The Flesh is the exact opposite. If you were free from the Old Man you wouldn't you commit a single sin. Why in the world can't you understand that?

Disconnecting Christians and the Flesh

One of the clearest places to see his is here in our text: 1 John 3:7. John says, “Little children, let no one deceive you [so he has the false teachers in view]. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.” What’s he saying? He is saying beware of the false teachers because what they say is that you can be righteous and not practice righteousness. “Let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous.”

In other words, John opposes not only their view of Christ, that they disconnect his person from his ordinary bodily life of doing things, but he also opposes their view of the Christian life when they disconnected our person from our ordinary bodily life of doing things: “The flesh didn’t really matter for Jesus; what mattered was that somehow, in a spiritual way, he was the Christ and there was no real union of the pre-existent Christ and the physical man Jesus. And our flesh doesn’t really matter either; but somehow, in a spiritual way, we are born again, but there is no real union between that new creation and our physical life that does righteousness or does sin.” Which led directly to the error that John points out in 1 John 3:7, that you can be righteous in some spiritual way, and yet not do righteousness in your ordinary physical life.

"For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." (Galatians 5:17)

And you "practice" sin Mac. You do it every day. Day after day after day after day.

So come down off your self-righteous high horse.

I'm not sure why God doesn't just glorify us right then and there, but I guess he want us to remember to keep humble and not be self-righteous.

Did you see what is bolded in red there? Though one may not have known they sinned, like breaking an old law still on the books, they are still guilty. Ignorance is absolutely no excuse. God still holds you accountable. You are trying to say one is somehow not responsible if they sin unknowingly.

Where was that insight where you stated that believers think that heart is only rebellious but deep down, heart wants opposite of rebellion and wants God, the insight that I comment as "I have faith in the potential of that insight" ... Seems like I'll be rewarded for my faith, similar to Hebrews 11:6, and when I commented about your insight yesterday, it's similar to Hebrews 11:1 - faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen
In all our reactions which is our defence to keep us safe and which is overcoming, because we know we
are loved. There is a shift from I fight to make my mark in the world to I fight to share the love Jesus
has placed within me.

It took 3 years, with the anointing of the Holy Spirit to turn a group of ordinary men, into the apostles,
who knew the power of God flowing through them, the Kingdom of heaven on earth.

So these guys who were scared for their lives, became men who spoke words that would take their
lives on earth away, but deliver them to the Kingdom that is to come. Listen to Jesus's emphasis,
the things here are temporary, and can be replaced, but the eternal realities never shift.

It is why when love shines, those who react in judgement or condemnation, do not know Jesus.
Jesus is openness, and empathy, reaching out to understand, to share, to listen. The idea of resting
in Jesus is right, except it is resting because our purified hearts full of love will speak out and we
will respond. Without purity, this openness will become exploitation and abuse, weakness turned into
people one can manipulate. And those who know this, fear it, and talk of examples when this has happened.

But openness with boundaries, respect with knowledge, service with gratitude. None of this is simple, because
so many needs and so much hurt, yet Jesus can heal us, and make us whole again. To find this place, and see
it in Paul, and how he ministered and cared, is fantastic. But only when ones emotions are free and stability
is found with healing is this possible, and certainly hard hearts will not know the meaning of the words.

Anointed, I suspect you know something of what I am speaking about, God bless you.

Then stop sinning.
This is the wrong focus. It is like saying stop weeds growing in a garden.
You cannot until you stop the seeds that grow into weeds. Getting to the root
changes everything. But your proposition is simply it is impossible to stop sinning.

Jesus suggests otherwise. But this is a walk, where the future is unknown until we
reach it, and how we walk is less important than who we are walking with and why.
Get the why and Jesus right, and the how will become possible. The apostles did, so
can we.

I suggest build greenhouse glasses to block any possible future seeds from coming in and those wall of glass can be like God's protective wall, the shield

They are accountable, but on a DIFFERENT level.

Its made clear in Leviticus AND in our day to day life. Jesus also mentions this in another context where those who dont know will be beaten with FEWER stripes.

But STILL BEATEN as you said!

The gardening way to get rid of weeds is to pull them all up, turn over the soil and leave for
two weeks in spring. The alive plants die, and the new seeds will sprout, and then you can
pull them all up. You then know you are weed free.

The point I am making is it is the source that is the problem, the thoughts, the passions, the
distorted views, the hurts, the unfelt emotions, the dreams, the abuse, the defences, the denial,
that need to be worked through and healed. Until the Lord is allowed to get this far, it is all
just show. And after talking to many different types of believers, a lot have no clue what they
are or how Jesus relates. Some are so disconnected, even after 20 years of contact, sharing at
true authentic emotion would be hard. But the point about life, is it a one shot opportunity,
no lets try again, :)

If I didn't record any true authentic emotion in my testimony, it will be nothing but a status quo.

As a humbling thought: without my testimony, without the God that my testimony describes, I'm nothing

And sometimes, you present yourself sober-minded with wisdom, a part of me think you could be a good moderator of cc.com site but that's just my opinion

high-ranking actually means I must be the lowest and many others are so much
more gifted and walking closer to Jesus than I am.

I am merely a servant who desires to share and understand the Lords will, His heart
and how we can walk in it.

Budman is suggesting everyone is a sinner, sinning all the time, with no victory or overcoming
evil with good. What some regard as wisdom is to call believers sinners, yet not specify what
about. Paul was always specific about sin in the churches, and confronted, else he called the
people of God, pure, holy, redeemed, washed, purified, temples of the Holy Spirit.

If we know nothing about our brothers and sisters just their witness, and the indwelling of God
in their lives, we can but conclude they are pure and blameless. So this is the contrast I have
between our example we are to follow and what accusers are doing with no foundation.
