James out of context will lead many straight to the pit........

21 Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
James 2:21-22

Here we have James declaring what is obvious, faith is completed by action.
An intention is just an intention until it is carried out.

We know God loves us because of the cross. Words are cheap until the price is paid.
How many declare they are your friends, but when trouble comes the quiet ones show true
and the ones who boast and show so much often prove false.

Faith without its action is no faith at all.

To declare this very reality is from the pit, declares the darkness out which such an idea is expressed.
It is truly sad and deluded that such ideas come linked to faith and the victory of the cross.

I know these issues are complex and rely on a pure heart, cleansed and purified by the blood of Christ.
Without a cleansed heart, we will always change what is meant to be into something different and gentle
towards our problems and difficulties.

Jesus said some strange things. Not that He will judge us, but the very words He has spoken.
I have read so many dismiss His words as for the Jews, as sarcastic instructions to bring condemnation
to legalists, as mocking the pharisees. I now see these arguments for what they are, ways of stopping
change in the hearts of the speakers, and to make them humble themselves and walk in life.

A simple point is to name one issue Jesus talks up that we cannot follow or do.
I have heard people claim sin they know of is minor, not part of the 10 commandments, but when
examined it actually was. Until you walk in the light, self deception is very easy, and being honest
costs too much.

Unfortunately confronting sin and evil is our calling in Christ. We have no compromise possible.

You speak of the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, yet you claim that same blood cannot save us? You need to re-examine what you believe. A cleansed heart must come after a saved heart. And only the Blood of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ can provided that salvation.

I have a problem in your approach. You want to isolate steps or aspects of our transformation and Gods
work as if this can be isolated, when in eternity it is where we get to that matters.

My concern is creating a false expectation in people who do not know the nature of our walk is always
pushing forward, always growing and changing, always seeing Gods work in new and dynamic ways.

So we come to faith as a gift of God, a supernatural encounter, where we pass from death to life.
The trigger is Gods word and the Holy Spirit. The faith is a loyalty to Christ, an open heart desiring
change and a life of love and righteousness that is like lightening. Repentance, the putting aside
the things of this world for the things of the Spirit, using confession and Gods word and leading
in the Spirit to guide us through along with fellowship with other believers.

Key to this change is an open heart, willing to be cleansed and purified within.
And this is part of our walk, but the start is when we repent, we ask Him to come and meet with
us. This is the point of the beginning, salvation, when our trust goes from being defended to
trusting Him and His work.

Our cleansing happens as part of Christs work within us, and only starts when we have faith
in Him.

My concern with using words like saved, is it creates the impression our cleansing is a benefit
of knowing Christ rather than part of our salvation itself. Without cleansing there is no salvation,
no resolution and arriving at being like Jesus.

Jesus called this process like building something or going to war. It takes time, planning, dedication
and consistency.

The use of the word "observe" is only in the International Standard Version translation of the verse.

It is not in the greek. A good translation of the greek is this

"You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone."
James 2:24

So clearly James means works justifies faith, shows it is real and active and not just
an intention or conviction.

Exactly.......His actions neither saved him or justified him before God....HIS FAITH DID BOTH.....the works were the reault of faith and THOSE referenced in JAMES came LONG after he was saved and justified by faith.....

You would have a problem with anything you do not agree with, whether it was true
or not. But that is never how you discover the truth, it is by having an open heart and
searching for it, no matter where it leads.

Hi D...As you know I am going through hard times with my son...
I was so heavy with my burden , and Scripture came to my mind where Jesus said " Come to me all those who are weary , and I will give you rest , take My yoke upon you and learn from me , for I am gentle and lowly in heart "...

As soon as I read that again , I took off the heavy yoke I was carrying , and took the yolk of Jesus , and thank Him all day long for carrying me and my burden...
You are correct , His yolk is light , and now I can walk side by side with Him as He teaches me His way on this unknown path of mine...xox...
