Fascinating how you define the Righteous Path Jesus walked as "Self Righteous; Hypocritical.
How is "practicing or advocating" strict observance to the Path Jesus walked a sin which I need to repent from?
How is it in your religion, that those who strive to walk the same narrow Path Jesus walked and promoted, are in need of repentance. But those who follow the broad path accepted by the great religions of the land which reject much His Word's are saved and guaranteed immortality?
Maybe we should just trust the Christ and His word's more, and religious man that Jesus warned about over and over, less.

I thought to myself... self let's read DC's hopping thread. Oh my goodness, almost 80,000 comments, pages and pages, since you started this about 1.5 years ago. I have to ask... Since you started this thread, has your thoughts on this matter changed at all? I mean, I know you still have the same position but have you been given more insight?

This and eternal salvation as God provides are two topics that always get misconstrued in discussion groups.
Don't you find that to be the case?
Works salvation proponents seem to imagine or perhaps fail to, that they're insisting they need help God by their actions so that he keeps his word concerning his gift of grace.
Does it ever cross those minds that in real time they could ask themselves if they write a check to the person who gives them their birthday gift? Or Christmas presents?
It is made so clear by God himself who is the word. Which was in the beginning and predates any efforts of man to compile an eternal omnipotent spirit of dominion into a tome therein within their control. In other words, Holy Spirit predates man's idea they own God's exclusive approval of them because they believe he said so in a book.
God's grace saves those whom he chose before this whole thing began. And since no thing that exists can be anything but the one creator source behind all that is, was, or ever shall be, what it all boils down to is and what we're told by God himself is, it is requisite that God believed in us.
Now all we have to do is accept that and believe ourselves worthy.
Doing this we follow where he leads. Because now that barrier that exists between our worldly consciousness and our spirit linkage with God is dissolved having come to the knowledge of the truth. Because no one can arrive there without going through the anointed gateway that is the Christ. He who was God walking among us in his time and living the truth of the word that is God. A living testament, example, of what we can become if only we believe.
And all of it is God's doing. All we have to do is wake up and follow where the spirit leads. Trust that. And how we realize we're following our own will, nature, the world's calling, is when we foul up.
But course correction is allowed since we're now in an inward and upward trajectory on the world map. When we're back on course things work out. When we're off course things work to show us where to steer our lives to find the right road. It is all an education in trust.
Our good nature then is evidence of our being reborn to that awareness. We don't work to show ourselves approved. We work as evidence of God's approval.

Sure.....not only is my resolve strengthend, but I have had numerous people message me behind the scenes telling me they have changed their minds and or adjusted their views based upon my incessant stand in this thread.....my continued struggle is for those new and or on the fence....make no mistake..there is but one correct message of salvation, all others = no power to save, double cursed and lead men straight to the pit.

I think I did already weigh in on this, another day here... but sure we should make sure we really believe, be rooted. He is the gardener with whom we are to submit. Yes our salvation should be transformative, showing growth,
sinning less.
My question is if we know none of us will ever have sinless perfection, how are we to find rest in Him and His promises. I think He tells us... seek, with all we have, with all our hearts, His Holiness not ours. We will always need His Grace.

How rewarding that you have helped others to rest by point to His sufficiency, not ours. I do believe our faith endured, requires roots grounded. So, I may not be exactly where you are. But I do believe that if we chose Him on our death beds, He knows our hearts. Ultimately that is what He wants, our hearts. He tells us to guard them. The condition of our hearts seems directly proportional to trust and submission, and in not quenching or grieving the spirit, not willfully, over and over.

Yes, use your own words Decon, God's Word's make you angry, causes you to "stop your ears" and lash out at those who would show them to you. I might also remind you that the Mainstream Preachers of Christ's Time, who ALSO transgressed God's Commandments by their religious traditions, didn't listen to those who opened God's Word and showed HIM to them either. You mock HIS Word's as drivel. But so did Cain and the Pharisees. It has been a "practice" of religious man since the congregation of the Lord wanted to stone Caleb for trusting in the Christ. Nothing new here.
Maybe you can someday climb off that pedestal you have created for yourself and maybe actually engage in a Biblical discussion. Not just the handful of scriptures you consider important, but even those Word's of God you mock and judge as drivel.
I'll be there for you man, if you ever take the leap of Faith and "believe" the Christ who said: Man shall "live by" EVERY Word of God. After all, He is the Word of God.

All I can say to the above.....either Jesus has begun a good work of faith and will FINISH IT AND COMPLETE it or one was not saved....it is ALL HIS POWER AND HIS WORK and th gifts and calling of GOD ARE IRREVOCABLE
Study the word IRREVOCABLE.....and then KEPT by his power through the FAITH HE BEGINS, HE FINISHES HE COMPLETES and the word translated IN <-Our life is HID WITHIN CHRIST
and saved to the UTTERMOST!
These truths above cannot be denied or swept aside to teach something that can be lost or forfeit or that relies on what we do.....
Just sayin
