VCO, about faith and trust
"I don't believe that it's possible to overcome cowardice", and even if we can for a little bit, it's impossible to do that entirely.
Hi theanointedwinner, your statement;
"I don't believe that it's possible to overcome cowardice." is incomplete. It would benefit everyone a lot if you could be more specific about what it means,
"to overcome cowardice", and how does the word
"Cowardice" apply to in your post. Likewise as your Professor said in your testimony, I am also being
"Sincere"
I'm a Vietnam Veteran, US Army 4th Infantry DIV. 4/42 Battalion. I personally have made 22 combat assaults over the course of 10 months, some under enemy fire some were not. I define a coward as someone who
"lacks courage" and I believe you can
"overcome cowardice" by
taking courageous steps in action just like a trained soldier in the Army would do when confronted in battle.
Christians are in a battle right now, but our battle is not with flesh and blood, our battle is for the souls of men and women. So my answer to your statement is
"Yes", it is possible to overcome cowardice by stepping out in faith and enlist in the "Lords Army"
2Timothy2:3,4
3) Join with me in suffering,
like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4) No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.
Armor of God: Epheasians6:10-17
10) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13) Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15) and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16) In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
