Those who are not true converts will never find themselves on the true vine of Jesus. Just like Judas.

The church, or body of Christ existed while Christ was still with us, he had quite a following. Many of those in the body of Christ were not in him, however, and were never branches on his vine, because of the hardness of their hearts, like Judas, and others that finally left him when he gave his "I am the bread of life" sermon. Those who went out of the body of Christ were not of the body of Christ because they truly did not believe, and were not iN HIM and never were a branch of his true vine.

Only true believers were branches in His true vine, and any of them who did not produce were taken away. Saved, but were lazy, and not committed and ignored the Holy Spirit and fell away and were lost and lost their salvation too. It is too straight forward to misinterpret. Except if you cling to OSAS doctrine, then you have to make modifications to the parable.

An advocate.

Helper, advisor, counseled, offers support, strength.

In legal system an advocate aka lawyer speaks on our behalf before a judge.
He knows the law.
If he knows we have not broken the law he speaks on our behalf, in order to told not guilty.
If he knows we have broken the law he pleads mitigation on our behalf.

The thing is the judge himself who penned the law, the righteous law that we willingly break (as all sin is wilffull, there is no excuse) came down to earth to pay the price for our sin by hanging on a tree so that we have impunity before him.

The judge himself takes his cap off, sat in the dock on our behalf yet sits on the bench and says "Guilty as charged but not guilty as I have taken the punishment on myself, paid the price on account of the shedding of my blood on the cross"

Jesus experienced everything we do but did not succumb and he can advocate personnaly.

That's why he can advocate.

The whole concept of rewards in heaven is totally lost on BenHur . . . we are ordained to good works in order that we may be rewarded, not to determine whether we end up in heaven or not. Anything he doesn't like, he ignores - such as the concept of 'suffering loss' and yet being saved, or having the smell of smoke on our garments because someone loved us enough to use fear to win us to the Lord.

I believe that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are 1 God, I am a Christian that believes this nature of God.

I believe that the Messiah God is Jesus Christ, and it is through the grace of Jesus Christ that we can be saved.

However, I do not believe your last paragraph. I believe that the different translations of the bible and no originals has led our Christian communities in many different paths, hundreds differing as to how one is saved.

They settle for and trust in "imperfect obedience" to save them, rather than trusting exclusively in Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation. That salvation is by GRACE through FAITH and is NOT BY WORKS is not hard to understand. It's just hard for works-salvationists/misguided teachers of the law etc.. to ACCEPT. It's a shame that human PRIDE will not allow such people to come to Christ. Their hands are full of their works and they will not let in order to receive Christ through faith.
