Please point us all to where I've denied the baptism of the Spirit as you've accused.

Sister, your words are not true.

Goodness sake people...
I think she may be referring to the baptism where ppl begin speaking in tongues. I could be wrong here, however. But I have noticed that ppl on here(some, not all) will make up things on others(IOW lie) to try to assasinate their character. Trust me...I know about that first handed.

God who “will render to each one according to his deeds”:eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

Here is a snap shot of the Day of Judgement, whereby, His servants, His people, His sons of the kingdom will be Judged according to their deeds.

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy[c] angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did itto one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they also will answer Him,[d] saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Matthew 25:31-46

so what is the purpose of the cross, if we will all be judged according to our deeds anyway?

And does not the law say everyone who is not perfect is guilty? Who can live up to that standard?

to those who believe your works keep you saved even after you believe in truth and are born again...
how many sins disqualify you from being saved?
how many sins until you pluck yourself from the hand of God?

and how many works until you are accepted back into His family as an adopted child?

for those who believe it is by grace
through faith you are justified by Jesus Christ

what is the difference between you and a sinner who is not on the narrow path?

.

I don't mind discussion that's why I talk with people I disagree with.
You are one of the most vicious people on this site.

I hope you and your friend TT have had fun today together slagging me off and tearing me apart and trying your best to humiliate me.

You must be very pleased and proud of yourselves. What a good work you have done.

Just remember one thing BillG: No one can take away our self esteem without our permission. Don't allow yourself to be manipulated (even under the guise of a cloak of Christianity) by anyone. Speak your piece.

I see so much more than differences of opinions under this thread. I see purposeful division and I do not believe God has anything to do with that.

Where there is strife and division, the devil is in the details.

Could it be that one sees their baiting, dividing, manipulation, character assassination as their "works?" Just saying.

Then I apologize. Actually I can't think of any time that you have. We went around and around on other issues connected with it so am truly sorry for saying that.

Just was trying to make a point. This is the last time I ever go off topic in a thread. Learned my lesson here and am thinking I caused this all to happen.

It is the blood of Jesus and His sacrifice that we all are in agreement on and that is the only foundation to build on. We must take heed then how we build. But entrance into heaven is what His blood assures us of.

I hope whatever lie this person who calls herself Ralph begins to see, for she is denying the power of the blood to saves us utterly and completely.

Report me Ralph. I don't care. I know who you are.

so true McGee. And she isn't seeing that the works that are the good works we all have been destined to do, are birthed from the Spirit of Jesus so in the finality of all things, whatever crown we may earn, we will throw to Him in worship.

That's probable.

Another troubling scenario is this false compromise that "we all believe we are saying the truth." That's a broad brush cop out that focuses on nothing specific, and to the myopic sounds plausible.

It addresses exactly nothing specifically while applauding and maligning both parties at the same time.

Compromise does this, and people think it's called peace and unity.

We're not arguing about hypotheses, but actual cases and things said which deny the gospel, deny imputed righteousness, deny the completed work of Christ, deny security in Christ, all witnessed on here. An opposite view of these things does not become one persons "truth," while the Biblical side becomes yet another persons "truth."

That's just a bunch of compromising baloney and namby-pamby behavior.

To broad brush it as such is foolish, as if truth were merely subjective to the person. It is basing the statement on something intangible while pretending it hit some actual mark somewhere.

Be specific then you might have a case, and quite generalizing and compromising truth as being only relative.

To use that cop out is to say none have a true Gospel, we only think we do, and anyone's truth is the same as another. It is also saying that we cannot arrive at truth through 2 Timothy 2:15 and contextual exegesis. The Gospel is up for grabs for some, so lend everyone an ear. Seems completely contrary to 2 Timothy 3 and 4 because it is.

"Differing opinions" is the popular catch phrase of today used to support any form of doctrine as relevant, but is really designed to mitigate the Gospel by making any other opinion on par with the one true. That is what it really accomplishes.

Thank you sister. I hold no grudge and consider all who have trusted in the work of Christ alone as brothers and sisters. You perhaps misspoke, and I've done the same at times as well. If I have offended you, I am truly sorry that my behavior did so. Please forgive and accept my apology if this is the case, and let me know how exactly so I can rightly apologize to you.

Here is how I see it so some will understand my position better:

Heresy: Any damnable doctrine that sends men's souls to hell by a false gospel which detracts from what Christ accomplished, mitigating and deeming it as not enough to save.

Heterodoxy: Any doctrine one may believe, albeit perhaps not biblical, that does not take away from the Gospel of Christ or mitigate his finished work.

The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. Matthew 13:38

Wheat, sons of the kingdom, His own servants, His sheep can become lost, and cast into hell.

But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:12

  • His people who start out as faithful then become unfaithful is the point.

  • They start out as the one thing then become the other.

They can start out as sheep, then become lost.

so what is the purpose of the cross, if we will all be judged according to our deeds anyway?
Deeds show if you have died on the cross with Jesus in redemption.

See, you're not phrasing the question right. It's, "what is the purpose of works, if we will all be judged by the cross?"We pass from death to life through the cross. Our works show if that has happened or not. That's why Christ is going to separate the sheep from the goats on the basis of your life, not on the basis of what comes out of your mouth claiming to know Him.

Not everybody who says, 'Lord, Lord' will enter enter the kingdom. Only those who do the will of the Father and produce fruit will-Matthew 7:19-23. The lawless will be turned away as not knowing Him. No confession of faith, no works of church service will ever replace or make up for being lawless.

And does not the law say everyone who is not perfect is guilty? Who can live up to that standard?
You're making the same mistake budman made. You aren't differentiating between the believer who stumbles into sin and the unbeliever who lives in it. The first group is forgiven. The second group is not. We all have to make sure we're in the first group. If we are living like the second group and thinking we are in the first group we are deceived. Examine your life. Your confession nor your works of service in the church show which group you're in. Your life of ever increasing obedience does. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

Not quite. They actually end up being revealed as to what they truly are, dogs and swine, showing they were not sheep in the first place; 2 Peter 2:22.
pretty much of all 1 john 2 explains this i think

Doesn't matter anyway.

Calvinism says the person without works was never saved to begin with. They are lost.

Arminisim says the person without works either was never saved to begin with or lost their salvation. They are lost.

See? Doesn't matter. What matters is that you are saved on the day Christ returns as evidenced by how you live.
