It's so funny because it's your own words you keep swinging against those who posts plain scriptures. Here's the true sword:

New International Version 1984 Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Yep....and it states NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAVE DONE, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY HAS HE SAVED US....OR is that too far above your pay grade!

I was reading some statistics on this today exactly.

It is indeed a subtle attack within the denominations, however on the individual level it can have profound impact on one's relationship with God.
I agree. It becomes religion/works/fruit/deeds and the relationship with the person of Jesus Christ is lost.

All workers for fail to acknowledge that those who have genuinely believed in and on Jesus have already done the works of the Heavenly Father.......It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe <-faith

To a worker for it is foolish that a man can believe and be eternally saved....and to say one must work flat denies most of what Paul taught....it is works or grace and if works it is NO LONGER GRACE.....SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT, NOT BASED UPON WORKS, but rather SIMPLE FAITH and exactly why the number is plenteous that gets cast for claiming their works in his name as their right to enter....MOST SO CALLED CHRISTIAN RELIGIONS PUSH works in some form or fashion....

Free gift of salvation what a loving Father we have indeed, it blows me away just to think on it.

Yet people prefer the broad path which is actually all about self-righteous works and self than the narrow gate which is Jesus and His Grace.

AMEN. And AMEN.

This message is SO attacked today, that I know of many believers that KNOW it, but won't say it any longer in public.

Get ready for the onslaught if you voice TRUTH in this world.

There are some on this very forum IMO. You will be labeled as "hyper-grace" by the Armin or "easy-believism" by the calvinist/lordship salvationist.

Who really want's to go through the ringer that you KNOW they will put you through.

the context of James 2 is do not show partiality to the rich .. ? Paul however is actually expressly presenting a systematic theology for the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. the context of chapter 4 in particular is establishing that salvation is neither bought, inherited or earned.
the context of James 2 is do not show partiality to the rich
The point of James 2 is most certainly not simply showing partiality to rich people. Though this is one of the examples it is not the context.

James 1:23-25 is the context.

Be doers of the word and not just hearers.

The rich vs. poor example is but one of three in the chapter.

Rahab's act of tying the red cord and Abraham's act of offering Issac are clear examples of the context of doing the word of God and not just accepting/believing the word of God.

Your response shows a cherry picking attitude toward the context of James 2:24 much as does many on this thread.

Paul however is actually expressly presenting a systematic theology for the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. the context of chapter 4 in particular is establishing that salvation is neither bought, inherited or earned
Since James 2 does not teach "bought, inherited or earned" salvation, I would agree.

Both James and Paul were led by the Spirit. James was led to write "not by faith alone" and Paul to not write "by faith alone".

I was there also. Johnny Piper, Johnny Mac and their mainstream popular 'followers' were my false teachers for WAYYYYYYYYY to long. I always get a kick out of those who say, " You have no clue what your talking about, you really should read and study what they say!"

What are the works of God we must do?

John 6:28-29 Therefore they said to Him, “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?” 29Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent.”

What is the Truth about Salvation?
What is the Way to Salvation?
How do we get eternal LIFE?

John 14:5Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Are these scriptures below TRUTH or does it have no bearing unto salvation?

James 2:14-26 Faith and Deeds What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Hebrews 5:7-9 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

How does Jesus give us LIFE? By coming to Him. And believing in Him.

John 6:33 For the bread of God is the One coming out of heaven and giving life to the world.” 34 Therefore they said to Him, “Sir, always give to us this bread.” 35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; the one coming to Me never shall hunger, and the one believing in Me never shall thirst at any time.

What is the WILL of God concerning Salvation?

John 6:40For this is the will of My Father, that everyone beholding the Son and believing in Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day.”

The moment we believe we HAVE eternal life:

John 6:47Truly, truly, I say to you, the one believing has eternal life.
