These teachings clearly promotes disobedience by implying that Jesus WASN'T SAYING that we need to obey His commandments to prove our love. Purely heretical and anti-Christ. Check your faith if it is in God or in your hypocrisy.
Romans 8:7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
2 Peter 3:16-18 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
H2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
Hi Seohce, I hope all is well with you.
I have read your post above.
Maybe it's semantics but I think about it this way.
I obey Jesus, want to be like Jesus not to prove my love but because of my love for him.
There is no doubt about it, we have been called to be like Jesus, to each other and those around us who do not know Jesus.
I have to be honest that on judgement day if we are asked "Why should I let you in?
My response would be "Because of you Jesus, nothing more or nothing less"
I know our works will be tested and the dross will be burned up yet we still be saved.
Part of me thinks also on judgment day in a twinkling of the eye we hear Jesus say "Well done good and faithful servant welcome to eternity" then we look at him and say what have I done to deserve this.
He will say "I know you, when you did this and that you did it for me"
To know him is to love him, to know him is to obey him. We love because he first loved us.
Please know that I am not going at you but just giving my take on obedience to our saviour..
