The manifestation of true biblical denial is that our faith is in the Cross of Jesus Christ
Biblical denial is not that you have denied yourself a Snickers bar, a beer, this or that, but rather that you have denied yourself so that you can take up your cross and follow Jesus DAILY.
Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
The story is told of a little girl in “aftercare.” Both her parents worked and either parent would pick her up from her school’s “aftercare” in the late afternoon. On one particular day she was very eager to go home. While longing for the comforts of home, she chose a few of her favorite toys in the aftercare room and attempted to entertain herself. She tried valiantly to distract herself in this way but was anxiously waiting for the arrival of her parents. When her Dad finally arrived to pick her up that afternoon she ran from the corner of the room where she had been playing and cried, “Oh Daddy, let’s go home!” “Wait just a moment,” said the daycare worker in charge. “You know the rules. You have to put your toys away before you go.” The little girl seemed close to panic and with the faint glimmer of tears forming in her eyes she looked towards her Father and said, “Oh Daddy, don’t leave without me!” Her Dad just smiled and said, “Oh honey, I didn’t come to leave you. I came to pick you up.” My weary friend, be encouraged. Jesus did not come to leave us. He came to pick us up!
Revelation 22:20 - He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Galatians 3:11
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Law is what God gave man to show him just how impossible it is for him to be justified by trying to keep it (Romans 8:3), and although it is what God expects, we in our fallen sinful flesh can never keep it. It is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6), and faith must be manifest with a heart that is believing unto Righteousness (Proverbs 8:8, Romans 10:10). Unless it is the Righteousness of faith, it is not biblical faith (Romans 4:11-13). Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us all by Grace (Hebrews 2:9) through faith (Galatians 2:20), and when we believe upon THAT WORK ALONE for our justification before God, He saves us by THAT GRACE and THAT FAITH, and gives us THE MEASURE OF THAT FAITH (Romans 12:3). Then and only then do we find THAT Life and begin to Live by THAT faith.
THAT FAITH is what was under attack in the Churches of Galatia, and God through the Apostle Paul was attempting to bring His people back to the reality of walking with Him in THAT FAITH, instead of being carried away through the lust of their own flesh (James 1:14) and the deception of believing God would work through the Law they were being tempted to follow. The question today for all of God’s people is, “Are we living by faith?” If our faith and hope remains in the work of Christ at Calvary, then yes we are, and grace flows like a river into and through our lives, but if we are not trusting in that work of Christ at the cross alone, no we are not. Remember Exodus Chapter 32 where God’s people built a golden calf to worship, but in their attempt to manipulate God, they also built an altar beside the golden calf. God said there could be no mixture, and today it remains the same.

Those who believe in Jesus Christ have to make a daily decision to live by faith. Faith is the key element of the Christian experience. Faith is the greatest asset to the individual Christian. We are saved by faith. We are called upon to live by faith. The Word of God confirms this by stating, “The just shall live by faith.” So it should not come as any surprise that Satan works overtime to destroy the faith of the believer. He is an expert at discouragement. He thrives by planting lies in the minds of those who love God. He raises doubts and concerns and builds “mountains out of mole hills.” He distracts through mirages and smokescreens that produce fear, discouragement, doubt, and unbelief. These are his weapons of choice and he yields them with devastating ferocity, shooting his fiery darts towards the heart and mind of the unsuspecting believer. Faith looks at the lies, the mirages, the myths, so carefully fabricated, and declares them to be what they are. No matter how real the enemies’ work may feel or seem, we are not to fail to believe God for a way through the darkness. Discouragement, doubt, and unbelief cannot coexist with faith; so I choose to believe!
Hebrews 10:38 - Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Galatians 3:12
And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

The Church has been in bondage for the most part not many days from the time each person was born again. The reason is that we know the initial Way of Salvation is through faith in Christ and His work at Calvary, but until the last 23 or so years, the Way of daily Sanctification was rarely heard from any pulpit, and you will be VERY HARD pressed to find any writings about it at all, even from the most notorious Bible Scholars in years past. It has always been right there in the Word of God, but it is the Way that strips away everything our flesh desires to be and to trust in, which is The Way of The Cross. Trying to perfect ourselves through what we do (Flesh) is a statement to God that says, “I can do this”, all the while rejecting the only Way through which He can do what needs to be done! Our simple faith in the cross.
Anything that is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23), and anything we attempt to trust in for any of God’s Grace, whether initial saving Grace, or Grace to carry out any of His will for our lives, is considered Law and works on our part, and is sin. The Purpose Driven Way, The Government of 12 Way, The Walk of Emmaus Way, The Celebrate Recovery Way, The AA Way, The ANYTHING other than simple faith in the cross Way means we are telling God that the Cross of His Son WASN’T QUITE ENOUGH. Sometimes I wonder if what we do with the Cross for our daily Sanctification isn’t a reflection of what me might have really done with it concerning our initial justification? EXAMINE WHAT YOU THINK YOU HAVE AND WHY YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT. When Paul preached to Peter who had been moved by fear into hypocrisy (Galatians Chapter 2), he preached justification again to an already justified man! Something to ponder.

Every spark of independence from God will stoke the fires of rebellion and sin. God did not create humanity for the purpose of becoming independent of Him. Quite the opposite is true! Man was created to become increasingly dependent upon God and to learn to trust Him to supply for every circumstance and need that might arise. In the fall, man became independent of God and reliant upon self. He began to focus upon pleasing himself, nurturing himself, elevating himself, and advancing himself. If one honestly overviews the world’s system, they will find that the key elements that occupy the world reflects the principles of force, greed, ambition, pleasure, and power. These are the elements that the world and its godless system (which is governed by Satan and spiritual powers of darkness) promote and strive to maintain. Those within this system desire to live free from God. They desire to be free from His rule, His guidelines for life, especially anything that might be esteemed as stifling, restrictive, or repressive. Pleasing ourselves outside of God’s guidance, goodness, and grace will always result in sin and lead us further down the pathway of rebellion. Is it not time we surrender our lives and begin to discover the true and unadulterated joy of a life submitted exclusively to God?
Luke 17:33 - Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Galatians 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:
Jesus Christ came to give His Life so that we could Live through faith in Him. He had to be crucified upon a tree, for at the Cross it was sinful humanity He was identifying Himself with so that He could put us to death (Romans 6:6, Galatians 2:20). All of humanity is cursed with the wages of sin which is death. Jesus came to nail that old Sin Nature to the cross (Colossians 2:14-16), to bury him and to raise us to newness of Life with Him. Jesus could not be stabbed, strangled, or have died any other way than being hanged on a tree, for it is there God said that men would be hanged that were cursed (Deuteronomy 21:22-23).
When Jesus was on the cross bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows, we looked upon Him as though God was smiting and afflicting Him as though He had sinned, but in all reality, He was being wounded for OUR transgressions and bruised for OUR iniquities. The chastisement for what eliminated us from peace was being laid upon Him, and with every stripe laid upon Him, He was offering healing to us. The Galatians were being tempted to go back under the Law, where the curse exists, and go back many of them did (Galatians 5:1-4), but the offer is there today for you and I to remain in the Life which is found in the Righteousness of The Faith of Jesus Christ.

Have you ever been betrayed by someone whom you trusted? Perhaps it was a friend, a co-worker, a loved one, or, God forbid, even a spouse. There is nothing more hurtful, more painful, more devastating than to have been dishonorably treated by someone you care about. This evil leaves you breathless. If we are not careful, the hurt we feel, which is very real and spiritually “numbing,” can produce a heart and mind filled with anger and bitterness. If either of these is allowed to remain it will defile the heart and soul. Therefore, the event can take on a double negative because of not being handled correctly. In the initial experience we are hurt by the loved one. By the wrong reaction we hurt ourselves and allow the devil to plant a seed of destruction within our souls. What's a person to do? The answer is sure and scriptural. We have the right to forgive those who have trespassed against us. In fact, the true believer has been given no choice. Are you holding a grudge today over what someone else has done? You have no option but to release the situation to Jesus and forgive them even as God, in His great mercy, has forgiven you your trespasses! Amen!
Mark 11:26 - But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Galatians 3:14
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Praise the Lord! The blessing of Abraham is the blessing of hearing and believing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and receiving His Spirit through faith. God had promised to bless all nations through Abraham, which means through the One that would come through Abraham’s lineage, that being Jesus Christ. Paying careful attention here, this would mean that it was Abraham, Isaac and THAT lineage, and NOT Abraham and Ishmael as the folks of Islam believe. If it had been Ishmael, it would have been according to the flesh, but God established His Covenant through Isaac. Glory to God!
The blessing of Abraham is that we receive the promise of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. I know we grow too complacent with the knowledge that God almighty lives within our hearts, and I mean the Holy Spirit who is as much God as The Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, but we desperately need to think upon this daily. Glory to the Lamb forever! We can praise God, trust God, and suffer for Him (Philippians 1:29, 2 Timothy 2:12), as we glorify Him every single day of our lives (Luke 1:74-75). The point here is that the promise of the Spirit does not come upon us through what we do, but our faith in Christ and His work at the cross (v. 1-3). This was what the devil always attempts to move us away from, for he knows that in THIS faith, we express Christ, and that is what He hates the most!

Miracles happen every day in the life of the believer. In fact, every time God interrupts the normal flow of the course of events, that can be defined as a miracle. Every time that God intervenes behind the scenes and moves by His Spirit to make the life of one of His children a little better, a little happier, or a little easier, that is a miracle. When just the right pieces of the puzzle of life come together at exactly the right time, that is a miracle. God is constantly moving things around in this world’s system for our benefit and every time He alters what would have been by the power of His Spirit, that is a miracle. I am afraid we travel through so much of life unaware of the intervention of God that is happening consistently about us. So let us be expecting the specific, wonderful, mighty, manifesting miracle that is so desperately needed. Let us also begin to praise the Lord for the smaller less visible interruptions of God that can make our daily lives full of joy and simple ease. He is worthy of more praise than we give Him! Truly I live “under the shadow” of His wings!
Proverbs 3:6 - In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Galatians 3:15
Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
Before Paul begins to describe the covenant God made with Abraham, he reminds his readers that when a covenant is made even among men that no one can do away with it or change it. A covenant is the most important thing between men as it is an agreement made between the two which each can rely on the other to do his part so that which is agreed upon will benefit himself as well as the other.
Paul is preparing to tell the Galatians about the covenant that God made with Himself in Christ and the blessings that went to Abraham and his seed. At the end of this letter he reveals to us that if we are Christ’s, yes even us today, we are Abraham’s seed. I’m so thankful today to be in Christ because of the covenant that God cut with Christ through the shedding of His blood for me. Even if we men refuse to walk away from the Covenant, it remains because we cannot break it, as it was not cut with us. God cut covenant with Himself, and that means it will always hold the power to save the lost and to give the Children of God power to serve Him without fear (Luke 1:74-75) all the days of their lives. The cross of Christ is the New Covenant and will stand eternally!
