No thanks, my trust is in God's word. I'll take my advice from Him, not some guy on the internet.
so you see speaking to God as just some guys advice to on the internet ?

Well that says it all friend

So whats this place for you then, are you the one and only true guy on the internet with all the right answers

Did you seek God for this response too.

Because God night have said you always seek me for advice on spiritual matters because the natural man discerns not of the spirit, So seek him who can advice appropriately which is also a personal prophecy,

Because you seeked God, who then gives you revelation which helps you for future preference and others.

Im really struggling to find answers here, where people have seeked the lord first.

Seeking the lord in everything really is growing.

The main point of focus seems to be about something that doesn't exist anymore and that being used for a foundation of an argument.

All the time I seek the lord where I have reçieved an answer which has helped for a future decision.

It may be just something simple like advising a friend or should I go some where or do you want me quit drinking which I have.

Or can you help me to overcome grief or can you help me to make my friend feal better.

Or can you give me the endurance I need for today

What do you mean by...neglected by God?
There are different levels of interaction with God. The more you seek the more you discover, the more you relate to God. Seek and you shall find applies not only in knowing the TRUTH but at all levels in the Christian life.

The more you love others, the greater the return in a spiritual way. The more it costs you to love others, the more you receive through the Holy Spirit.

The more you pray, the greater the sensitivity you experience to the Holy Spirit.

A simple example. If you sit down and read the scripture every day for more than say an hour. Your understanding of the scripture will grow. Your understanding of God and His nature will grow. You will discover things about life, that are not visible in an ordinary way.
Reading the scripture is good but is a small part of the Christian life. Prayer is critical and the application of loving others is paramount.

Christians are spiritual people and endowed with the power of the Holy Spirit. That power is unlimited and is only restricted by you.

Ultimately, the experience of the Christian life has been seriously eroded, by faulty interpretations.

I can only assume you need to pray for this but in prayer via waiting on the lord in hope, somehow I don't think a quick wish will help.

But really the prophets of the old testament did not have the fruits of the spirit and they where not born again, so yes when the spirit filled them it was like being born again but it was only temporary.

It's different now because the believer has the indwelling of the fruits of the spirit permanently so communication in prayer is easier for a message to come to.

I really believe that all Christians can deliver a direct message from Jesus. Whether it's interceding or a prohhetic word that may prevent some kind of danger.

And I strongly believe in the fact many people report seeing Jesus or an angel just befor they die.

Where I feel strongly the spirit of prophecy is upon them.
Correct, we are literally new creations in Christ.

Everything is possible now for us, we are only limited by our own stubborn resistance. To every thing Jesus has promised that our Christian lives will fully reflect Him. In love, power, joy, and victory. His power has no limitation.

Finding a prophet in a church is near impossible.

On Sunday, I am heading to an independent church I found on the internet. Apparently, they operate in the gifts and ministries of the Holy Spirit. I will know within a few weeks, if what they say is true. Please Lord, let there be a prophet.

Real prophets are as rare as hen's teeth.

I thought this was a different region to the one the holy spirit prevented Paul going to in verse 6.

There is no real reason given for why Paul was prevented from going to preach in the region of verse 6.
God repeatedly prevent Paul from going north. you ask why.
the text then says God gave Paul a vision to go to macedonia.

you still ask why God refused to let Paul go north.
and ask of this still justifies personal prophecies.

paul was an apostle.
his mission was to reveal the gospel to the gentiles.
God at times told him where he would be most effective.
the time of miracles has been fulfilled 1Cor13:8-13
the scriptures make a man of God complete 2Tim3:16-17
if the scriptures make complete, what would lead us to look elsewhere?

IF this were completely true and the NT makes a man of God complete, then why are so many of the preachers, teachers, pastors of many solid bible preaching churches both Protestant and Catholic. Denominational or non-denominational so easily falling into sin , temptations and controversy? what makes all those catholic priests commit such atrocities to young boys and hide their perversion from a church body?- men who religiously study the Bible. Could it be they are preaching in the flesh and not by the annointing of Holy Spirit? Could it as this scripture says?

“He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Yes we need doctrine but we need Holy Spirit just as much today as the apostles did then. Proper doctrine and correct theology are not enough.

The HS revealed the one faith, the NT. Jn16:13
This makes a man of God complete 2Tim3:16-17

why are there so many diff churches? Because people keep looking beyond what the HS gave. mt15:9

they create names for churches that honor organizations, doctrines, men… instead of Christ Rom16:16
they create church organizations beyond what we read in the NT Acts14:23
they create worship that appeals to crowds, rather than worship that pleases God Jn 4:24; Eph5:19; Acts 2:42
they create ways of being “saved” different from what Jesus taught Mark 16;16

this isnt new though.
Ezekiel 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Paul was addressing the ministry of apostles
the Spirit revealed the Gospel through them

it didnt originate with them v5
2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

many today look down on doctrine.

yet…

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

continued stedfastly in…. Doctrine the apostles gave…

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

doctrine that is inspired, from God, makes complete

1 Timothy 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
1 Timothy 1:11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

sound doctrine = glorious gospel that Paul taught

I don’t disagree, scripture is core scripture is primary. Nothing coming from Holy Spirit today will trump what is written. But it would appear there is more available.

““My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬-‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Clearly Jesus wants the believers even of today to understand that the goal is spiritual unity with Father, Son in this age via spiritual maturity knowing we have Holy Spirit in us.

My understanding is that we accomplish this maturity
by abiding in Christ and seeking to move beyond the elementary teaching of the faith. Which the elementary teaching is.

“ Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Just how would we distinguish Good from evil? It has to be revealed by Holy Spirit. Walking in a dynamic conversational intimacy with God to my understanding.

“Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭5‬, ‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

scripture as meaning the written word of God.The 3rd member of the trinity Holy Spirit within the believer(Christ in us) will NOT contradict what is written. He only speaks what He hears from the Son. If something we hear spiritually contradicts written word then it isn’t Holy Spirit and we are to engage in spiritual warfare at that point against the foul spirits.

How do you know if something contradicts scripture? What is the measuring stick you use to test the spirits?

“This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬-‭3‬, ‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is a good safety check initially . Checking for the presence of the fruit of the Spirit compared to what the Spirit is prompting is another good cross check. There are several other ways as in Applying Jesus teachings to our modern day situations as well in dealing with spirits . Fact is What Jesus told His followers2,000 years ago is still applicable today. It’s not perfection but we will learn just as the 12 and even the 72 did. If the 72 were able- they weren’t even the closest followers of Jesus it can still be possible with us today. It’s only a matter of how surrendered our lives are to Christ and what the Holy Spirit will enable as we become more surrendered to Christ.
