They don't understand. It sounds like I'm talking crazy nonsense to them, and I don't blame them because they don't understand.
1 Cor: 2:14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
I know for a fact this has been said before to you, but it's worth repeating. You need to be careful with saying the Holy Spirit told me this and that because if you are wrong then that could be considered blasphemy. It would be best just to say this is my understanding or how I feel about it.

Now the Spirit of God and the Word of God match up. We can't just come up with any silly notion that doesn't match the Word by pulling one verse out of context and say the Spirit told me so because believe me that is not how the Spirit works. The Spirit matches the Word and it will edify and build up the body of Christ. It does not seek to pull it down and seclude it or hide the candle under a bushel.

Now if you don't want to go to Church then don't go. But please do not get on here and say that it is good not to fellowship and attend Church or people are not even saved if they attend Church. That is not biblical and the Holy Spirit isn't telling you that, that's the enemy.

You are talking crazy nonsense. What you don't accept is that I actually do understand quite well; I just disagree with you. You think you have the Spirit of God, and that those who don't share your views don't have the Spirit of God. That is the very essence of arrogance, and is indefensible from Scripture. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as saviour and Lord (as I have), you have the Spirit of God. Disagreement on secondary matters doesn't make either one of us a non-Christian.

Jas 1v22 But be ye DOERS of the Word and not hearers only deceiving your own selves.
Traditional teachers in sunday churches very much encourage the congregation TO REST in christ and NOT do anything themselves which is seen as 'filthy rags.
Really? Quote one. Just one. Prove your assertion with evidence.

Where does it say "because" Paul was leaving the next day...it references Paul leaving the next day but it doesn't say they met because he was leaving the next day. my NKJV says. " On the First day of the week, WHEN the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day...
and in 1 Corinthians 16: 1-2 wouldn't it make sense to take collections when they met together on the 1st day of the week? Why would he specify on the first day of the week here?
Not trying to be smart or argumentative just asking sincere questions. Please don't be offended that is not my purpose
I will get back to you after3p

Apparently pj is a her, according to the personal profile page. Here are the relevant prior posts...

So yes, she is saying that only a few people from within the Church will be saved. She doesn't believe that the Church as a whole will be saved. Not that in my post, "Church" is capitalized. She disagrees and says it will only be a few "enlightened ones" (for lack of a better term) who will be saved.

I'd like to thank you first off, Dino, in your "enlightening me":))), as to the gender of "pjharrison." I generally, don't read people's profiles. Disregarding Honest Abe Lincoln's advice to "believe" everything, you read on the internet! :D:D Yet, "believing" Benjamin Franklin's advice concerning "those who give up liberties for security?" "Deserve NEITHER Liberty, NOR Security!" As regarding my "avatar?" I am neither a Catholic, nor a Nun! But, I DO own guns! ;) If I could have found one more pertinent to my gender, and Constitutional Rights to own and bare arms? And, to own in such a fashion indicative to the "spirit" of the 2nd amendment? "A Yank with a tank!", or, "A Pal, with a fifty Cal!" or, "Seymour, with a Claymore!" May have more befittingly described me, as a flesh warrior, as well, as spiritual warrior!
But, seeings how "arms" of these types, have already been deemed as "unlawful for mere citizens", to own, by "forces of darkness", so they may continue to run, however noticed, yet with no means of "holding them ACCOUNTABLE", let alone, "in check", in their "subversive, with malice aforethought" intentional underminings of the U.S. Constitution, to which has slowly, yet "steadily and successfully", even SEPARATED Jesus of Nazareth, as well as the God of Israel, from the "spirit" which our founding fathers, of this GREAT, and ONCE GODLY nation, was founded upon, and even FROM the PROTECTION "BY GOD!" This Nation, at one time, was indeed so Grateful AND so Richly Blessed, BECAUSE of God, In Christ! Amen!

To which "Government", was initially "ascribed" in the protection and safety of its "citizenry", from "enemies!" "Foreign AND DOMESTIC", "HAS", in every sense of the word, REMOVED, or given cause FOR God, in the "Removing" His protections and blessings, not only to this country, but, to His Churches, within this country! With some false "rapture doctrine" "La La land" Just believe, and I'll fly you away, mindset! Leaving "the churches" to "fend for themselves!" In the "double standarding" of Ungodly, and moral less and lawless principles that "workers of iniquity" are so wont, to do! "BALLOTS!....NOT BULLETS!" Is the "cry" from "the churches!" And, I'll be the FIRST one to mention, that I "believe" "Tis a MIRICLE!" Trump is in the White House!

(Can you hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches?)

In Trump's efforts of "draining the swamp" in our "Government?" Christians should also "take to task" concerning "draining the swamp" in their "respective" "Churches of stone."

I've said it once, and I'll say it once again. And probably more times, as time goes on. "A person's ego, even, a believer's ego, will cause them to do, and say "strange" things!"

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Jesus didn't come to change the law! He came to fulfill the law! What law? Where? The Law, that is in the "Government", on His shoulders! Jesus is The WAY! Jesus, is NOT the Cross! Jesus is the TRUTH! The Cross, is NOT the truth! Jesus is the LIFE! The Cross, does NOT give life! "NO ONE comes TO the Father!" "But?" "BY ME!" (NOT "Me!" For I am NOTHING! Jesus, silly! :)) The Father "set up" the "Government!" The "Government" is NOT the Father! But, the Father is IN the "Government!" The ONLY way to be "confessed" TO the Father, IN His "government", is FOR Christ TO CONFESS one TO the Father, as one CONFESSES Christ TO men! One, is also DENIED to the Father, as one denies Christ TO men!

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Understanding IS (for lack of a better term?) "enlightening."

Hosea 4:6

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

"Few", is a non-discript number! But, then again? So is "many!" As Jesus is quoted in Matthew 7:22-23.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In conclusion? She says a "few will?" Jesus says "many will NOT?" Six of one, half a dozen of another?

Jesus cannot be talking about "anything" else, but, "the church, as a whole." As, most certainly, "the world" would not invoke Jesus' name, for healing, or casting out devils, or doing many wonderful works.

(can you hear what the Spirit is saying to the Churches?)

The end is near, the time is right, for violent Tribulations.

I know they don't understand... nor do they want to ...or they COULD ! It is a person's own choice to accept and believe the Word of God.
In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the 'glorious gospel of Christ ; who is 'the image of God should shine unto them. 2Cor 4v4.
We either believe what this world has to offer or we believe GOD...making the wrong choice blocks the Gospel !

This is such corruption It clearly says "them which believe not"... meaning unbelievers, non-Christians, the unsaved.

Applying these verses to Christians is consistent with the accuser of the brethren. For whom exactly are you working?

No disrespect intended to you, Tourist, but I wonder why a woman with bad ideas should get different treatment than a man with bad ideas. I don't think it is respectful to protect a woman from the consequences of her actions. I think that such preferential treatment is actually disrespectful, because it is condescending and patronizing. It is treating her as though she is not mature enough to take responsibility.

However, these are thoughts for another thread. Maybe you were just acknowledging that you were too harsh, regardless of the gender of the person whose posts you were addressing. :)

There is no command to do it, but we take it from example and necessary inference from the Scripture.
We should strive to follow the Scripture Examples of the early Church.
Examples of the 1st century Church Meeting, taking the Lord's Supper, and Giving on Sunday are shown in the scripture.
Acts 20:7..." Now on the 1st day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread" tells us what was unique about the 1st day of the week. Unlike other days of the week, this was the day the disciples came together to partake of the Lord's Supper. We know its not referring to common meals because we don't eat once a week, and we already know the disciples often came together daily for common meals from Acts 2:46.
By stating " the First Day of the week" we are told the frequency in which this happened. It wasn't the 1st Sunday of each month or on Passover. It was a weekly gathering that occurred on the 1st day of the week. This is also confirmed in another aspect of worship, the collection. Collection is commanded on the 1st day of the week in 1Corinthians 16:1-2.
When the Church meets we should all be there, not forsaking the Assembly but exhorting one another Hebrews 10:25
Seems you have some more studying to do....what you quote from Acts 20 is INcorrect. They were not partaking of the Lord's Supper but having a MEAL.....when Paul had 'broken Bread AND EATEN v 11.
Also 1Cor 16 is telling them to 'gather and lay by in store produce from fields, gardens and orchards ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK...a normal working day....for Paul to collect for shipment to Jerusalem with the help of other men. Read scripture more carefully and you will not spread UNtruths !

I can't tell if your are for or against the post, but when you enter Gods rest (Sabbath), you cease from all your work just as God did, because all is done. Ceasing from your work means, no need to observe the Sabbath, because you are in it. Every day is holy. You have entered his rest. No more traditions.
Have you never read EX 20 where GOD gives the Commandments regarding the Sabbath ??? how can that then be a tradition of men ??? MEN have turned it to fit their own traditions which were out of line with God and Jesus was exposing !!! HOLINESS is from GOD and can never be invented by men...NOR can man abolish it !

Would you say that NONchristians read the Bible and concern themselves with the Word of God ? I doubt it ! 2Cor 4v4 obviously refers to people who DO read it but just don't believe what it says....or maybe find some excuse why they should not believe.?

This is the verse. Acts 20:7 7On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.
On that first day of the week. No where does it say every first day of the week.

That's right. The bible was written to help us in our race. It wasn't meant for us to make a forever teaching school. You have to grow up and get on your own. And walk with God on your own. That's like never leaving grade school.

If a person does not have the gift of the Holy Spirit, which is what you are inferring, he is not saved.
All along I have been saying babies. Some are saved, but they are still babies. They have got to stop depending on the school master. You have got to stand on your own two feet before God, by yourself. It's hard and scaring, because it is like you are free falling. You have got to depend on faith and faith alone. Then he can meet with you.
