Most adults who believe incorrect doctrine do know better that they are wrong; they have chosen to serve the devil instead of God.
i often wonder about unity, whether people can be truly unified or whether unification is only something we can experience for a brief moment or two,

The thing is no matter how much you try to be someone else you can never truly be that person, then I observe how every human being is unique in appearance, it always does make me feel how our creator wanted to give each individual the freedom to be themselves and to feel that they could be there own person but at the same time He doesn't want that person to be alone so he gave us the freedom to share things in common.

I've never understood those that oppose free will or see God's love as conditional when I look at things this way.

Given that there is probably no doctrine which everyone agrees is correct, by someone’s estimation we all believe in incorrect doctrine. That said, some doctrines are actually correct, and many aren’t.

Those who hold to doctrines that are actually incorrect would not know they are incorrect, or perhaps better said they have not been convinced that the doctrines are incorrect.

So no, they have not “chosen to serve the devil instead of God.” They are merely ignorant of the truth on the matter.

These people admitted to me they do know better.

I am referring to any incorrect doctrines they are choosing to believe
I understand that is what You mean. Can You provide a specific Doctrine that is ungodly, but passed in the church as Godly, that these people are following? Is it more than just denying that Jesus is God? Is it a Doctrine everyone would be familiar about?

Incorrect doctrine is not the idol.

Incorrect doctrine has an idol. And that idol is ALWAYS ,100% of the time ...................SELF.

Incorrect doctrine is always about the creature.

Correct doctrine is always about the Creator.
