So many have tried to spiritualize that passage and refuse to read it as straight forward as it is, i have done things like that as well so I know.

Yet there is so much we do not know. What about dark matter? What about anti-matter? And that is just the physical realm. We have not even touched on the spiritual realm. We are told we cannot understand that realm fully with our finite minds. That is why it takes faith.
