If it were medically possible to live forever, would that contradict God's will?

Adam and Eve would have lived forever in the physical human form. There is a way, in theory, that people can literally have immortality. Consider this:

Genesis 3:22
22And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

So there is a tree of life which enables immortality. It is in the paradise of God.

Revelation 2:7
7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Self explanatory.
If you live after the flesh you will die, if by the spirit, you'll live - Romans 8:13

He that keeps my sayings shall NEVER SEE DEATH - John 8:51.

Maybe study the Bible if you want your answer.

Sin = death
Life is from God
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When we sin we are worthy of eternal death.

Separation from God = death.

Job 12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Life can only come by being connected to God. Eternal life is possible because God has provided a way to pay for the past sins and restore a new heart within us.

We are here to decide what we want to do.

Confess our sins and be born again = eternal life with God

Or hold onto our sins and keep an unconverted heart = eternal death

look at the ten commandments in exodus.
A person can't murder another, and expect to go to heaven for it.
True. One will go to Heaven if they accept Jesus as their lord and saviour, regardless of how many people they have murdered.

Actually anyone can go to Heaven because we have free will.

It is God's desire for all men to repent. Do they? He has given man a choice.

Romans 8:28 :)
So things DO occur outside of God's will. Whomever said otherwise is wrong.

Here's the thing, though:

Adam and Eve were not CREATED immortal. They didn't BECOME mortal after having disobeyed God by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

If they hadn't eaten from that tree, Adam & Eve still could have eaten from the tree of life. However, they would've had to keep eating from that tree in order to sustain their lives. It wouldn't have been a one-time thing.

That helps us to better understand what God meant when He said what He said about them taking from the tree of life and living forever (after they had fallen). To be deprived of the tree of life meant certain death (God had said that in the day that they ate from the tree of knowledge they would die).

The similarity with Christ is that He is the ultimate "Tree of Life". Once we become His, we receive our eternal life from Him.

Not outside God's permissive will. He could exert His sovereign will and force people to choose Him, but He does not.
Actually anyone can go to Heaven because we have free will.
Man's will is constrained by many factors. "Free will" is a misnomer.

So we don't have free will?

You will not find this bizarre idea in Scripture. Only those who obey the Gospel and are in Christ go to Heaven.

In Genesis, God explains to Adam and Eve when He kicks them out of the Garden of Eden that they will one day return to dust. However, Christ can grant us eternal life after our flesh does so, so we WILL have eternal life as long as we earn a place in His Kingdom!

We do live forever through Christ. So what is the purpose of this life?
I see nobody answered this question.

Man's search for meaning and purpose is ages old. Only God can truly satisfy this quest.

Our purpose is to glorify God.
