Just to clarify your statement here ----
Many obeyed God's laws, not perfectly, but they were blameless in God's eyes -----

This word blameless means

Strong's Concordance
amómétos: blameless
Definition: blameless
Usage: without blame or fault, unblemished.

I say
No man could keep the laws and just because they may have kept one law but failed to keep another law ---

Scripture clearly says that if you fail in one law you fail in them all ---

The Bible verse James 2:10 states, "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it".

They were not seen as blameless in God's eyes --
-they remained under the curse of the Law ---the law brought death --

The sacrifices they did to cover their sin was temporary and it was done so God Himself could have access to His Chosen Nation ----Sin repels God from ones's presents ------God cannot look upon sinful people -----His face is turned from them ----so He needed a way to have access to His people to be able to converse with them --

There is only one person who can make us blameless in God's eyes and that is Jesus Christ who one has to receive as their Lord and Saviour and have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit ------
Romans 4 : 2

For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

"I began to wonder why our archangel did not accused the devil when I believe he had all it takes to do such. Is it because he never desire to pick an unneeded fight with an expert in the accuser of the brethren?"

"its because he never..." that's just speculation. In Gods word even we are not to be doing that. We don't know.. and God is not telling anyone. Not about any chat He has had.. nor all the things Satan says about us 24/7. GOD will not talk about the power or what ever of any angel. We don't need to know here. I do know.. we are to watch how we talk to them. We can't even tell the difference between a man of GOD and some silly wrong doctrine. What 99% of us never seen demons or any fallen angels..that 1/3 .. we don't know how many that is. I don't care.

We live what 70+ years if were blessed. We know nothing at all about what's out there. I don' care. He won't tell me.. and 1/3 and Satan and what ever else.. yeah.. Go for it Father.. its all yours! I have all the power all the authority here on this earth.. not in the 2nd or 3rd heaven.

The score card is amazing indeed, Satan has fought so many battles and lost every single one and even already it is called before it happens that he'll lose all the way to the very last one. Praise Jesus!
If Satan lost every battles as you said then no one should go to hell Every battle is targeted against the human soul and we still have millions of souls going to hell. How can we boost of the devil losing battles when we can't fulfill our purpose on earth

You give far too much credit to Satan and not enough to God, Who is sovereign and who knows the end from the beginning. Satan is a tool in God's hands; that's it, that's all. He is more powerful than us mere humans, but his power is nothing when compared to the power of Jesus Christ.
No sir. I beg your pardon, I didn't but I can't stop acknowledging his works. Even God did when He asked Satan what he felt about Job's faithfulness. Satan is doing his job and he is doing it well we should not just decide ourselves. God hasn't fail, no. He came as a man and did what we human could not do, obeying the laws and defeating all Satan's temptation even as a man with blood running through His veins . We humans have failed even when Jesus came to strip him of his powers, we re-enthrone him.

Romans 3 : 10

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Of themselves. No person has indwelling righteousness of themselves, ie their flesh. But they are able to put the flesh to death and act righteously by walking in the spirit

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he [Christ] is righteous. 1 John 3:7

The score card of the devil over his activities on earth is mind blowing. Satan made sure no one could hit the pass mark of obeying God's laws throughout the old testament.

Not Moses who related with God on one on one basis or our most reverend father Abraham through whom we all are called into God's family.

it baffled me when people talk down on Satan as if he is an entity that has no important in our world. I'm not trying to magnify Satan activities but I am seriously concerned about the tremendous successes he had recorded by making sure their is no righteous man found on earth in Revelation 5.

This is a school for thought and I believe it's another strategy of the devil to find a dark hole to hide his activities to we humans.

Jude 1 : 9

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
I began to wonder why our archangel did not accused the devil when I believe he had all it takes to do such. Is it because he never desire to pick an unneeded fight with an expert in the accuser of the brethren?

Revealation 12 : 12

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Kjv bible.

Wow, Heaven was relieved and rejoiced that Satan was cast out of their midst. That means something but to many Christian, it's nothing to think about. I believe it contributed to the successes Satan is enjoying still date. The more we are less concerned about his activities, the more we are ignorant of his activities in our lives.
interesting
seeing myself devil defeated at the resurrection of Christ the Son for us the people to be given new life in his risen life to lead us new and not be bothered with evil anymore, yet are while here in this world bothered with evil still. How So? Satan defeated!
God won through Son for us all to be able to be saved by God through the done work of Son for us, it is done by Son (John 19:30)

Authorized (King James) Version

Hebrews 1

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: they shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; and as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

What is Left? "Flesh" to turn from self and other flesh leading them also to God to trust God in God's love and mercy for them through Son to them to see new, and will once anyone believes God will begin new and learn new if does not quit belief as Job would not deny God going through all those adversities too, Jesus even deeper than ever for us to be saved, once one chooses to believe God does love them too, even though troubles happen to us all
Will we be willing as Jesus was, is in that garden when he asked Father is there any other way?
then said "nevertheless, your will not mine be done" Will we be willing. this is a choice, not a have to or else flesh attitude, thank you

Thread Title
How successfully is Satan activities on earth?

Satan's job is to keep people away from God and His word ---and he is doing a good job of it -----the main activity of Satan is to make people believe that he is not real and doesn't exist -----

For the true Christian Satan's job is to go after your Faith in God and destroy it by infiltrating the mind with Doubt ---fear and anxiety that God won't do what He promises ------

The Carnal Christian is very vulnerable to fall into Satan's trap od stealing their Faith as their Faith is not Grounded and rooted in God ----they still live straddling the fence of living as the world thinks and try to live the way God wants us to live and so they are double minded and are unstable in their ways of thinking and living and Satan has a hay day with Double Minded people -----

You win or loose your Battle with Satan in your mind ----Satan wants your soul and God wants your soul ---so you are in a Spiritual war of who will win your soul in the end -----

If you don't know how your enemy works your victory over keeping him away from your thought life is very --very small -----Satan is very clever and right now in this World his soul winning is great and he does it skillfully -----Laughing all the way to his Soul Bank

Let's just take a look at you since you're so focused on Satan and his "successful" work. How do you feel or think that Satan's work is successful IN YOU?

Of course they were. Sacrifices for sin, which were part of the law, removed any blame. Same with Paul
NO That is Wrong ------

The people in the Old Testament were blameless in God's Eyes by Faith in Him ----animal Sacrifices did not make people Blameless -----Their Faith in God did ---Salvation is by and through Faith in God it was in the Old Testament and the New Testament --

-Covering Sin in the Old Testament was so God could deal with His Chosen Nation ----Sin separates us From God --it has nothing to do with God seeing us Blameless -----Faith in God makes us blameless and upright and in good standing with God ----

Isaiah 59
AMPC
But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.

Sin hides God's face from seeing us ---He cannot be in Sins presents -----so the covering of the Sin was so God could deal directly with His people -----He could come into their presents -----

Hebrews 11
4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous,
when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”[a] For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.

8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. 11 And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she[b] considered him faithful who had made the promise. 12 And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

13 All these people were still living by faith when they died.

Yes they were blameless because of faith, but if they sinned what was the required action to restore fellowship with God? It's obvious God cut David slack when he was forced to live in the wilderness and didn't have access to the temple to offer sacrifice, but I'm sure once that was resolved he obeyed the law.

btw I think the whole matter revolves around a blameless conscience. David had great faith and was able to see beyond the old covenant. Others who did not have his faith would have had to conform to the measure of their faith to keep a clean conscience before God.

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. Psalms 40:6-8
Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Romans 14:22-23

I'm not exaggerating either, read the Bible closely, Satan always be losing every single battle. Think about it. He try to kill Adam and Eve in order to try, and fail, to attack God but they gonna get resurrected at God's Word, so he lost there. You think Satan is a winner because death entered the world? That means he gotta die too and that's a double L for Satan to lose since he's guaranteed no chance ever of salvation like Adam and Eve. He tried to get Job to curse God and be destroyed, but instead Job hold firm to faith in God and God restores him manyfold over, so Satan lost there. Satan tried to tempt Lord Jesus in the wilderness and literally ended up fleeing in fear, so he lost there. Everything Satan does he loses at. Even the example of Satan contesting with Michael over the body of Moses, what do you think Satan won against the strongest of all the archangels and got to take Moses' body? Nope guess again Michael is incalculably stronger than Satan, Satan lose again, and again, and again, he never wins. It's actually kind of mindblowing how much Satan loses and how he never wins any single battle but yet he only gets more foolish and more wicked and gets himself cursed further. Wait until we get to the final battle too where he literally dies, cause he sure ain't immortal he was born right here on Earth and will die right here too it's already called before it began, he is gonna lose that one too. We'll see who the winner is when the breath of life is blasted out of Satan's lungs and he is thrown away forever. We will be singing the victory chorus to the winner, praise Jesus.

I believe it contributed to the successes Satan is enjoying still date. The more we are less concerned about his activities, the more we are ignorant of his activities in our lives.

I've read the text you wrote, and I must say it presents some intriguing perspectives on the role of Satan in biblical history and Christian theology. I find several points worth addressing.

It reflects a particular interpretation of Scripture and Satan's influence. While it's true that sin and human fallibility are central themes in the Old Testament, we must be cautious about attributing too much power or "success" to Satan. Our faith teaches us that God's love and mercy are ultimately triumphant.

The fascination with Satan's perceived achievements is psychologically interesting. It may stem from a desire to understand the persistence of evil in the world or to find an explanation for human shortcomings. But this perspective risks overshadowing the central message of salvation and redemption in Christian theology.

Regarding the reference to Michael the Archangel in Jude 1:9, it's essential to understand this in the context of angelic hierarchy and divine authority. Michael's response demonstrates humility and deference to God's judgment, rather than a fear of confronting Satan.

I'm intrigued by the suggestion that downplaying Satan's role might be a strategy of the devil himself. This reveals a complex interplay between faith, fear, and the human need to understand the source of evil.

While it's important to be aware of the temptations and challenges we face in our spiritual lives, we must be careful not to give Satan more attention or credit than is due. Our focus should remain on God's love, Christ's sacrifice, and our own journey of faith and good works.

What are your thoughts on this, my friend? I'd be interested to hear how this text resonates with your own understanding and experiences.

How successful has Satan been...

Rev 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

@Blade ,

The fact God has shielded our eyes from the devil is probably a mercy for we can't be beguiled like eve to sin or this can be an abilities that the angels and demons have to be seen or to be invisible at will. But in the story of Balaam and the donkey we are shown that the animals see things as they are.
Then, in Rev 21:17, we are told the angels are 144 cubits high, but when on earth, they are not noticeably tall. So they can also change their height at will.

In screwtape letters. cs Lewis had this idea that the devil was drinking the essence of souls. Now, this is a theory of mine, but I think he's using condemned souls to get more power to fight against God for the final battle.

Satan only has influence over you when you allow him to do so. When you don't acknowledge his actions, he has no authority over you. When you choose to walk in step with God and His Kingdom, you are immune to satan's ploys.

Correct! I don't know why anyone should focus on Satan's successes when doing so is so discouraging to our own growth in the Lord. We should be focused on the Lord's successes instead!

I had a very bad habitual sin that I struggled with for years and Satan would tell me that I'd never overcome it, that I'd always be a slave to it. And because I focused on Satan's success in that area of my life, I believed this and like he said, I couldn't overcome it!

But God kept telling me to focus on Him! To believe Him when He said that I will overcome this habitual sin that had me enslaved. And you know what? I started truly believing Him and submitting to Him. I found myself tempted less and less by this habitual sin and abiding in the Lord more continually and growing stronger in the Lord!

I must testify, that the longer I submitted to the Lord and not resist the Holy Spirit's work in me, the more I loved God, the easier it was to choose God's ways and obey Him. I also got so used to his pure and purifying presence that even a temptation loses its appeal - it actually feels dirty, unclean and defiled in my spirit that it makes me want to get away from it! The Holy Spirit's presence makes you want to easily choose to say "no" to that temptation the closer you are to the Lord.

So yeah, totally agree with you! Satan will stop having success in your life if you walk in step with God and His kingdom!

it amazes me when Christians can't understand common knowledge of the things of God. Did Jesus acknowledge Satan abilities before he came to tempt Him in the wilderness.

After days of fasting and prayers, the lest thing you will expect is the devil coming to tempt Christ but he did. Acknowledging or not acknowledging the devil activities is not a prerequisite for defeating Satan.

Proper knowledge is all that is needed to overcome.

Satan came and instructed Jesus to command stone into bread when He was patiently obeying the commandments of God's spirit who led Him into the wilderness.

Jesus was obeying God's s Spirit that never stopped Satan from coming to tempt Him but Jesus could overcome him due to adequate knowledge He had.

Many have been acting on the devil's instructions thinking it was God that is instructing them because they can't identify the voice of God from that of the devil.
