I Hope you Understand the Spiritual precedence of the Life giving Power of the Holy One to deliver a person from illness.

i have had the unfortunate experience of witnessing loved ones who had their Faith weakened in unbelief to which doctors could only treat the exterior symptoms of something that what deeply rooted and denied by the family member.

i have also seen how the enemy attempts to attack healthy believers by trying to convince them that their lifestyle of moderate drinking is alcoholism.
Which is a lie that disgusted me nearly beyond the point of forgiveness. Especially after having witnessed what alcoholism is truly like.
A young lady who i held very dear in my life was an alcoholic.
She Drank 24hrs a day and could not function without it. Nearly Her entire life revolved around alcohol. Sadly i lost touch with her for some time. Till by happen chance i ran back into her. I was nearly heart broken to find out she had involved herself with a company of peers that introduced her to smoking crack cocaine.

I was never angry or ashamed of her.
Matter of fact, i saw how beautiful her soul was.
I new her pain, but could do little at the time to help her get out of that environment.
Not knowing what help was available i shamefully walked away and left her alone.

Till this day i wonder if she is ok.
And there have been many nights that my heart reached out in prayer.

She is probably not OK and is dying by degrees each day. Yes, continue to reach your heart out in prayer as that's probably the only chance that a poor wretched soul as herself has.

Funny, I did not say anything about the blind helping the blind. However, now that you mention it, I am fairly certain there are many people who do not believe in God who help others in many ways, whether by profession or simply by sharing their experience, strength, and hope. Perhaps like many you are unaware that the 12 step program is centered on God: both developing and maintaining a PERSONAL relationship with Him. For many, it does not happen overnight, and those seeking help from the snares of addiction need a lot of support and encouragement, some of which comes from being inspired by listening to those who have been where they have been, and come out the other side with lives that exceed their greatest expectations for themselves.

unlike you she never wanted to bring others down. She had no pride, a humble and contrite person of astounding moral character.
Her flaw was not even her own.

it was a long line of abusive relationships, Starting with her very own parents.

If ever you dare speak about someone whom i Love again. I suggest you bridle that tongue before you loose it.

I was explaining the reality of serious drug addiction and had no intention of making light of her condition. My purpose on earth that was revealed to me by the Holy Spirit many years ago was to alleviate pain and suffering to those that God sends my way. I really don't see how my post exhibited a prideful attitude or that I was indifferent to the agony that you feel towards this friend that you love and pray for. I will say a prayer for her too for God to deliver her from these addictions and that will allow true healing to begin. I will pray for you as well.

You underestimate the power of a heartfelt prayer. Outside of God what chance does anyone have? How would you describe a person who in your own words lived for alcohol 24/7 and now smokes crack cocaine? In my eyes that's a poor wretched soul in need of the healing power of the love of God.

Have you ever known anyone who smoked crack cocaine or known anyone addicted to a controlling substance like heroin?

Yes, to both. Also alcoholism. I'm still not sure why you objected to me encouraging you to keep praying for your friend or the prayer that I said for her but that's alright. I'm moving forward now and God bless you for the concern for your friend.

Typically what drug users in denial do is try to compare alcohol, nicotine, and caffiene to their addictions.

The details are not of your concern. I'm not a doctor so I am not qualified to give a full medical diagnosis of anything but only know that the prognosis of an addict is bleak unless God intervenes. Jesus is the Great Physician and is supremely qualified to answer your medical inquiries. I seriously doubt that 'everyone' is waiting to hear about my experience. As I have said, I am moving forward.

Addiction is a cunning enemy of life. Addicts are people in the grip of a continuing and progressive condition whose ends are often the same: jails, institutions and death. We know who the enemy of life is, and also Who the author and giver of life is. Addiction manifests in many different ways, meaning, not just through the use of mind and mood altering substances. Broken down to its basic component Biblically, it could be likened to idolatry. Those who are snared by the enemy need the power of God to overcome in their lives.

I didn't dispute any of those things and I didn't call her wretched, but rather a poor wretched soul. The word wretched means a person in a very unhappy or unfortunate state and is not demeaning to your friend in any way but was an apt description of her current condition.
