Does I Corinthians 13 teach certain gifts ceased with the closing of the canon?

Then you need to try to find another prooftext to hang your hat on. I Corinthians 13 does talk about knowing fully verses knowing in part. It does not mention scripture or canon.
It's there you just don't see it. 1 Cor 13:11-12

We Know God is alive through his mighty hand.

The gospel was NEVER ordained to be preached WITHOUT sighn and wonders following.
NEVER.

GOD HAS ALWAYS MOVED THROUGH POWER.

It is not a mental God nor is his book a mental book.

Red flags galore to those bringing that mental dynamic to earth and its inhabitants.

God is alive with ALL POWER.

JESUS SAID "do not even think of ANY MINISTRY untill you wait in the upper room for the power"

Ahhhh,but modern apathy refutes that
What does this mean?

Col 1:
20and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.

21Once you were alienated from God and were hostile in your minds because of your evil deeds. 22But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence— 23if indeed you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creaturee under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Hi Noose what is you opinion about rev 11:3

I know you believe no more gift of prophecy after bible bring canon

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

Heb 2:This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

1. Was confirmed by those who heard and God testified to it by gifts.
The testifying part of it was when it was being confirmed (being preached) by those who heard it.
This statement applies even today. The gospel is being confirmed(preached) to us by those who heard Him through the scripture and we also see how God testified to it through the scripture.
If it applies today, why would you be against signs, wonders, and gifts today.

There are also gifts of teaching, leading, and serving. It must be a dreary view to think that Christians must now do these things without God's grace working in them.
What the text does not say is; the gospel will be confirmed by those who did not hear Him, and testified by God through the gifts....
There are other books of the Bible. You should read I Corinthians. It is very unlikely that all of the Corinthian believers Paul wrote to had seen Jesus.
As much as the gifts operated in the church, it was still to confirm this salvation to members of the church for their edification. If one member of the church had a gift, it was to edify others; what this means, the gifts enabled the gospel to be preached and the gospel is preached, the gifts cease.
This is just a made-up theory of yours, not the teaching of scripture, the part about gifts ceasing once the gospel is preached. The people who Paul wrote to in I Corinthians 14 had already believed the preaching of the Gospel. Paul wrote about gifts being used to edify the church.

The apostles and the 1st century church are one and the same, their job was to establish the church and the gifts were foundational- for it is said the temple of God is made of Christ as the chief corner stone, the foundation of apostles and now the church itself.
And you develop a whole theory that the scripture does not teach, something contrary to the teaching and experience of the church in the centuries that followed the 12 apostles, also.
Others scriptures say were are all priests in this kingdom meaning that we only have one chief priest in Christ and everyone else being equal.
Jesus said 'and all ye are brethren' with his apostles standing right there, probably. Why would some members doing miracles, some prophesying, some teaching, some serving make them not 'equal.'? Read I Corinthians 12.
Jer 31:
33“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.

34No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,

because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”

This is the new covenant which basically means church era. God doesn't appoint other people over others but all are equal. Hence, what the apostles wanted to achieve was unity in love- so love was the perfect that was to come.
We are still in transition now. But if you think no one teaches another, then why are posting on this topic in the forum? Don't you hope to teach other posters what is right?

A teacher is someone appointed and with authority over others who he teaches. Jesus said to us there's one teacher our Lord Jesus. He taught and taught through the ones he appointed.

I believe those are the apostles under the leadership of Peter and Paul. There life testifies; as they were still ministering, nothing would touch them, but as soon as they completed ministering, each one faced a brutal death. You need to continue reading the same passage, it says they would testify for a time after which they would be killed.

Lol

When the 2 witnesses do miracles in the gt,
some cessationists will correct them.

"That all ceased"

2 witnesses ;"yes you sure did"
Lol
LOL....Need more living words than he has given us? Is there a law missing by which we could know him more intimately or a principle for rightly dividing missing? The last chapter is still Revelation.

The two witness are the law and prophets recorded as all thing written in the law and prophets. Moses signified to represent the law, and Elias the prophets.

When we beginning attributing the unseen work of God's faith as a labor of His love to the corruptible hands of sinful men in place of the unseen work of the gospel .Then unbelievers make the apostles as "gods in the likeness of men". (a legion)

Paul and Barnabas tore their clothes to show blasphemy was in process .Men having multiple gods before our living God .Therefore violating the 1st. commandment which must be obeyed before the second can give sense. God is not a man as us He has no form in any way or shape. no images of anything .

Its the good new (gospel) that heals and saves.

And there they preached the gospel. And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:The same heard Paul speak:(The words God put on his lips) who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The "gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, Acts 14:7-14

You're adding to Scripture. Neither of those verses even hints at "Scripture" being the subject.

That which decayeth and waxeth old is still ready to vanish away. There are still those seeking to be justified by the law today. There are still unbelievers who need to be taught to know God.

In so much that new prophecies has ceased? Why would you hold to the idea it has not?
You continually imply that others are trying to add to Scripture. You are incorrect. Get your facts straight.

What some people seek today and what some people need today doesn't matter, we are in the new covenant, that's why i said you should understand the times we are in.

The perfect came long time ago so the gifts ceased. It was not a secret, it is the misunderstanding that blinds many.

1 Cor 13 talks of love, so the perfect that was to come is nothing more than perfect love in unity so that the church can kick start. 1 John 4 expounds on this perfect love. You can read the entire chapter but i'll pick some for you.

1 John 4:
7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. ......
12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

The essence of the new covenant is that God dwells in His people and that is made complete when we love one another.

Yes, they came back to life (resurrection)

2 Cor 4:
12So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

13It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” b Since we have that same spirit of c faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

Q. How does Paul's death benefit his listeners?

2 Pet 1:12Therefore, I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have. 13I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of my body,b 14since I know that it will soon be laid aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 15And I will make every effort to ensure that after my departure, you will be able to recall these things at all times.

There's a difference between:

1. I will make every effort to ensure that after my departure, you will be able to recall these things at all times.
and
2. I will make every effort to ensure that you will be able to recall these things at all times after my departure .

The essence of the new covenant is that God dwells in His people and that is made complete when we love one another.
And we express love to one another by ministering to one another in a variety of ways as empowered by the Spirit. Gifts of the Spirit are a means by which we are empowered to minister to one another.

Than they Will propchecy for 1200 day,

So after back to life. They prophecy

My question is

When they back to life? In the future or allready happen?

Before. It is part of the canon.
So you believe the 2 witness in verse 3 already come to earth,

When? In what year?

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
