Do believers die during the first resurrection?

So, what is your take on this, were Adam and Eve created to die? Why was it so imperative that they were cast out of the garden so they could not eat of the tree of life. Before the fall they were sinless.

Adam Eve were created to glorify God by having offspring to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord. But they weren't created with eternal life. When they sinned, the image of God was corrupted in them, and, consequently, their offspring. If God still desired to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord employing humans, He would need a means to restore the image of God in man. This is what salvation is all about.

What's your point?

Man could not die without sinning. That doesn't mean he possessed eternal life. And one could reasonably conclude that at some point, had man not sinned, God would have conferred eternal life upon him. But that didn't happen. So it's a moot point.

My personal opinion is that Adam was under a works covenant. He was tasked with keeping the garden, being fruitful and multiplying, and forbidden from eating from a particular tree. He failed, died and began dying, and became part of a covenant of grace.

Adam and Eve had eternal life until they sinned.

The Adam's started off with immortality, which is very different than eternal
life.

Immortality pertains to a body that's immune to death.

Eternal Life pertains to a soul that's immune to death.

That difference makes it possible for Jesus' followers to have mortality and
eternal life simultaneously.

For example; Jesus had eternal life when he was here (John 5:26) however, Jesus
didn't obtain immortality till his resurrection. (Rom 6:9) In like manner, according
to John 3:35-36, John 6:47, John 5:24, and 1John 5:13 I have a soul that's immune to
death, but I won't obtain immortality till my resurrection. (Rom 8:23-25 & 1Cor 15:51-54)

The wages of sin is the second death not the first death. Adam was created mortal and would die eventually, sin or not.
