No one can say with positive affirmation the exact date of Jeses' birth. However putting together occurences, references and Jewish practices in the bible it can be estimated. And that estimation is sometime in September. By celebrating christmas, aka Yule, in any way, you are in essence celebrating the birth of the sun god.
The exact date is unnecessary. It's not the exact day again anyway.

Christmas makes no sense when you look at scripture...its a tradition started by men to distract from the gospel.

Acts‬ ‭17:11‬ ‭
Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.
‭‭
Acts passage is out of context and doesn't say everything about devotion has to be in the bible anyway.

How is the passage in acts out of context? The bereans made sure that everything they heard corresponded with the Bible. The Bible being God’s inspired word and the plumb line for truth.

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

It don't have anything to do with celebrating any holiday.

That was about accepting Paul's teaching not whether or not every devotion done must be explcit in the bible first.

did ...... you just contradict yourself ?
I don't think so. I was alluding to the fact that a day on a particular cycle of days isn't the day it happened anyway. It would be nice if it were the exact day in the cycle but that's not an exact science is it?

No. I think Paul received revelation from the risen Christ Jesus and passed it on faithfully.

But you also said it was to make Paul’s teaching acceptable...

Because why not, pick a day and dedicate it to the birth of Christ? And the fulfillment of the prophecy of old. Why not make it a commemorative celebration?

I didn't. The passage is about the Bereans having already accepted the word hearing it spoken from Paul. They formerly accepted it from their Rabbi's and we're searching the scriptures because they were making sure they could abandon the Rabbi's teaching.

pick a day ?
Yeah right, you do that.
Which day would you like?
That would explain why He didn't give us the date to begin with, cos it's not relevant.
