Okay, here's a drive by answer...meaning I'm between two chores, but this is important. I won't criticize anyone for studying the law, otherwise I would sit in judgement on Joshua, David and essentially all the saints.

Joshua 1:8 he recommends meditating on the Law day and night, David is enamored with the Law. How can you Love God with all your mind? How do you love God with all your mind when essentially everything He has ever said to man was His laws or how man was or was not keeping His laws?
Ok

The “torah” is the word for scripture or the OT. The law and prophets speak of the whole of the OT

You do understand that saying meditate on the law is not the same as saying meditate on the 600 and some odd commands given to moses do you not?

By the way. That was a command. What good will it do you to meditate on that command?

Is that what it says?
Deuteronomy 23:2 (NKJV): 2 “One of illegitimate birth shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord.

It could mean out of wedlock
It could mean mixed marriage
It c ould mean foreigner

Again, are they not allowed in church?

This one will take some research to understand fully. This is up to you to know if you want.

I do remember asking myself the question one time why, if Jacob prophesied:

Gen 49:9-10 KJV Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? (10) The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
And if the Kings of Israel were to come from the tribe of Judah then why was Saul, an Benjaminite anointed King first?

Then I thought of this verse and looked into the geneology of Judah. His wife was a Canaanite, but his only israelite children, the line of david was through an illicit encounter with Tamar, his daughter in law. Guess how many generations from that encounter David was....Does this explain the hiccup in Jacobs propehcy? David or any of Jesse's sons would have been the first generation whom God could choose from according to His own law, which he would not break! Is this possibly the answer? Don't know for sure yet, but it is an interesting question/study!

Hi this seems a little confusing. Are you claiming an 8 day creation week when there is only 7 days in a week and mankind being created on the 8th day? I can only find in the scriptures that mankind was created on the 6th day before God rested on the 7th (Genesis 1:26-31, Genesis 2:1-3) and nothing more said of an eigth day.

Thanks for your clarification. Maybe I am reading you wrong.
The Bible doesn't really call it "the 8th day." And yeah? It can be, or become confusing, when people refer to it as "the 8th day." But, to be sure? The creation of "eth-Ha Adam" (THE Adam), was done the day AFTER God rested.
This "eth-Ha Adam", is oft times referred to as "The Holy Priesthood!" May even refer to it as "the Order of Melchizadek." And, one would be correct.

Deuteronomy 31

16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.
20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.
21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.
24 And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,
26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.
27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death?
28 Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.
29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. (Can you say "mark of the beast?" In one's hand, and/or in one's mind?)

If the law is put in the heart and mind. His Word being in the heart and mouth how say you the law is for the Jews?
It's because believer's have not reached the "point of maturity, or perfection" Spiritually, whereas it would cause one in wondering, and then pursuing that, or those "sin/s" that "Love" does not cover!

It does not take long at all really.

The law is a tutor. It shows a spiritual truth.

Unless your a TRUE child. You can not enter the house of God. That us how far away we are from God. That is how desperate our situation is, Because we can not chose our birth parents. Nor can we chose our spiritual birth. Only God can do this. (Also remember, only certain people were allowed to enter the sanctuary. One requirment is you had to be jewish by blood. No half breed as they called them or gentile was allowed to enter. They could ONLY come into the courtyard.

Remember, according to the law David was a sinner because he ate the bread given or set aside to Gd but was he really a sinner?

All aspects of mosaic law are for that purpose have you ever studied the sacrificial system

I am familiar with what you are saying, maybe not quite as deeply, but yes it is reassuring to see how our Creator is absolutly consistent! And, loves us enough to share His intent.
