Think of the law like a consuming fire
It may help to recognize the unity between God and His Law. This is not Sci-Fi so keep your thoughts on the matter of fact nature of this. If God is a consuming fire. Deut 4:24; 9:3, then so is His Law. This earth is His creation. While we see that corruption or lawlessness is being allowed, you must also recognize that His Order will resume upon His creation. Each and every one of us has been offered an opportunity to exit the chaos/disorder/lawlessness before the consuming fire destroys everything that is out of order/lawless. When we receive the call or conviction regarding our lawlessness and recognize the redemptive work of Jesus and if our sorrow is for our sins against Him rather than for the wrath that awaits the unrepentant then we are granted the option of repentance. The time and opportunity and charitable nature of this is called Grace! During this Grace period we can receive the guidance of His Holy Spirit which will, if we accept, a new heart/nature which we can walk in. This new heart is one which loves His laws. This heart is under no threat of the Law/consuming fire because the Law consumes the unrepentant/unrighteous/lawless man. Avoid visualizing the special effects Hollywood would cast this in. What His consuming fire does to the unrepentant is not for us to fret over or concern ourselves with except to warn them. Only know this, Choose Life! Deut 30:19
Joh 10:10-11 KJV The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have
it more abundantly. (11) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Regarding the post:
The law was purifying the Outward man, the flesh but there Is no law for those that are members of the body of CHRIST,GOD IS a SPIRIT.
Just know that
seed_time_harvest was probably not trying to say the Law is not important to study. It is important to know that where the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth, He takes us to the Law and prophets for guidance as well as the NT! The scripture being referred to in the early church epistles and accounts below are the OT! The two things missing from the New Testament Church were the New Testament (had not been written yet), and Churches!
Act 17:10-11 KJV And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming
thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. (11) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
2Ti 2:15 KJV Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 3:16-17 KJV All scripture
is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Rom 2:12-15 KJV For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (13) (For not the hearers of the law
are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. (14) For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: (15) Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and
their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another
