Deuteronomy 27:26
Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law by observing them.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’ ”
Is this still in effect today?

I must be careful to clarify that it is not what "I say" But what He says:

Please have a look at the context from which Jesus cited that passage;

Deu 8:1-11 NASB "All the commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to give to your forefathers. (2) "You shall remember all the way which the LORD your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. (3) "He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD. (4) "Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. (5) "Thus you are to know in your heart that the LORD your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. (6) "Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. (7) "For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; (8) a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; (9) a land where you will eat food without scarcity, in which you will not lack anything; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. (10) "When you have eaten and are satisfied, you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you. (11) "Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments and His ordinances and His statutes which I am commanding you today;
OK, but those commandments were given to the Hebrews, they are not for Christians.

Good question, let's look.....
Ok lets do

Rom 11:
For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and [d]fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said.Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, [e]goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

1. Who is the root
2. Who are the natural branches
3. WHo are the unnatural branches?

I'm asking, not telling, does that "grafting in" establish any connection? Something to consider. To what end, to what degree...
In my church they say that through that grafting we became people of Israel too.

But are we not people of Christ?

Israel had its own separate covenant. We are not promised even today they things they were promised.

Pleasant Greetings,

In reference to the Original post question; Would you say the following verse relates at all?:

Mat 4:4 NASB But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'"

SG
That's a pretty neat play on words coming from the Lord, don't you think?

Seeing that the Lord is simultaneously the bread from Heaven and The Word of God.

Shows that the Lord is light years ahead of His Adversary every step of the Way.

Its kind of difficult to post scripture, thinking in your head that it answers all the questions, when in fact legalists view the scripture COMPLETELY different than non-legalists.

THIS is the Scripture that actually answers the Original Post question;

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

This shows that the Lord Jesus gives us rest from our work at the law.

But the way the Original Post is worded is kind of showing a lack of actual understanding of what Christianity is and what it (He) accomplishes.

Of course it is VERY difficult to explain this to someone who only wants to work at the law and doesn't want to come to Christ to receive rest from this sad state.

The Grace guys and non-sabbath guys and Bible Truth guys seem to understand WAY better than the legalists and judaizers. Its like they understand the mockery of Christ that happens with people who think their righteousness comes from their obedience to the law.

But then the legalists think that people who don't try to obey the law in their own understanding and strength are a mockery to God.

So both sides have a zeal for God, but only one side has that zeal according to knowledge.

John 5:39-47
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 I receive not honour from men.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

These words from the Lord should help a person who leans toward the legalistic/judaistic side. But then the legalist would have to understand scripture and if they understood scripture they wouldn't be legalists to begin with. See Matthew 11:28...

Deuteronomy 27:26
Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law by observing them.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’ ”
Is this still in effect today?
It is still in effect today. Until a person comes to Christ and receives Rest.

Galatians 3:23-26
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:1-2
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The curse is Condemnation and Death. There is only One Way out from this curse. It is by coming to Christ and being made free from the law of sin and death.

Its not by searching the scriptures and attempting to do everything your imagination thinks it should do.

Before we can live the unmixed life, and belong no longer to the carnal but to the spiritual Christians, we must be willing to know the extent of the mixedness in our own character, for what the eye does not see the heart will not grieve over. Before we invite God to search us, let us pause and ask whether we are willing that He should make a thorough work of this self-discovery, however painful and humbling it may be. If not, we had better not begin; for it is better to be without the light than to possess it and be disobedient.
Beautiful poem thanks for sharing. Also, I especially appreciate this part I quoted, it gets right down to the heart of the matter!

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
Psalm 111

7 The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.
8 They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever- holy and awesome is his name.
Psalm 111

4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.
Psalm 119

27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders.
28 My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
29 Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law.
Psalm 119

God law, His precepts, are the foundation of righteousness and His ways.
Loving God with everything we are, and loving our neighbour as ourselves is everything, and
is also the law.

For any believer to wonder at how this could be true, testifies to where their heart is and what
is not written on their heart and mind.

And what is also interesting, anyone who claims a believer is saying the law is just being told
to be written on their heart and mind, and needs explaining do not have this reality in their
own lives, so obviously doubt this is true. You cannot undermine a reality by declaring you
do not experience it yourself, unfortunately that is just declaring ones own lack or possibly
self awareness.

God bless you.
I've asked before, (to Grandpa actually) since he always quoted about the law being a schoolmaster, what do you teach your grandchildren if the law is not to be taught? He swiftly told me it was none of my business! So many common sense rational thoughts would necessarily always bring us back to Torah. In turn, Torah sends us to Messiah, who teaches the commandments. It's some seriously heavy duty blindness involved to keep up the argument against God's Torah, at least as strong as the blindness in part to Israel 2000 years ago toward Yeshua. Probably even more blind and deaf, because we have the history to study.

Again, anyone who is against the 10 commandments, how do you teach your children right from wrong? What standard do you use?

Just a note added. We are no longer "under the law." God no longer holds the guilt of our transgressions against us, in other words, we are truly under grace.

The law was given to demonstrate we are all sinners. Now we are sinners under grace, not guilt held against us, as long as we recognize our Father's will. This means we donot "sin more so grace may abound," no we do our best to be just like Jesus, Yeshua...…….only we need His grace by His wondrous and holy sacrifice just for you and for me. Praise God, amen.
