Actually it doesn't matter whether Jesus' crucified dead body was restored to
life prior to sunrise, at sunrise, or after sunrise just so long as it was
restored after sundown the previous day seeing as how the Jews' holy days
begin and end with sundown. In other words: any time after sundown
Saturday would count as Sunday, i.e. the first day of the week.

I tend to think that maybe Jesus exited the tomb in time to watch the sun
come up on a fine Spring morning in Palestine.

It doesn't matter because it was cleared stated in the gospels -"EARLY on the first DAY of the week, while it was still dark." (John 20:1) In other three gospels the same timing was specifically stated - "very early in the morning" (Luke 24:1, Mark 16:2) or "began to dawn" (Matt. 28:1). So it's pointless to try to spin something else out of it.

Are you saying three full days and three full nights. Or are you saying a time duration that is less than three full days and nights.

Can we sort this out please?

Well, in (Matthew 12:38) Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

So yes three days and three nights

were on their way rather than when they arrived.

You are right on the money I would sure like to here more from you. Not many "Christians" today would believe you. If we were to kill the Passover lamb today which we do not have to do it would be on Sunday Apriel the 3rd.Take a look at you callander and find easter it falls on the 17th. Not even close. Try and tell that to most "Christians" today and they would tell you, you are crazy. I don't thank a lot of them even take the time to find out what the says.

Praise the Lord in Jesus name, I'm glad you see what's going on ....because when we look at the following verses to show that Jesus died on the Passover. It states in Mark (15:42-45) that on the evening of the preparation day, which is the day before the Sabbath, Joseph a counseller asked for the body of Jesus. Once Pilate determined Jesus was dead, he gave him the body.

Mark (15:42) And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
(43) Joseph of Aarimathaea, an honourable counseller, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

The above scriptures are where the problem lied with the early church trying to interpret the events of the bible. One should take note, that what the majority of modern day Christians practice or follow come directly from the Roman Catholic Church. You had non spiritual people trying to decipher events that were spiritual. Since the scriptures stated, that the preparation day, was the day before the Sabbath, they automatically assumed this event took place on a Friday, because they knew the Lord's Sabbath was from Friday evening to Saturday evening. That is how they came up with the concept that Jesus died on Friday and He rose early Sunday morning. What they failed to take into account were the Lord's Holy Days or as they are also called High Sabbaths. There are seven yearly Sabbaths, and they, with the exception of Pentecost, can fall on any day of the week.

In Leviticus (23:4) that the Passover which is the 14th of the month, is the day before the feast of Unleavened Bread, which is a Holy Day or A High Sabbath. The Passover is sometimes referred as the preparation day because they used this day to prepare for the feast. The Feast of Unleavened Bread is the Sabbath which was being refereed to in Mark 15:42) when it was stated that Joseph craved the body of Jesus. Jesus had been crucified on the Passover and the next day was the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Jesus foretold when His death would occur. Also by Jesus being the Passover himself, Jesus had to come off the cross because, Sundown bring in the feast of unleavened Bread. Let’s take a look and see in John 19: 31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

(Matthew 26:1) And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, (2) Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

Now remember God's days start at evening and end the next evening. Keep that in mind as you view the next set of scriptures. Jesus had been betrayed by Judas the evening of the Passover. John 13 tells how Jesus and His disciples, that evening, were sharing the Passover meal. John (18:3) shows that same evening; Jesus was betrayed and taken away. It was still nighttime when they took Jesus, because the men that came and took and bound Him had lanterns and torches.

Jesus was crucified the next day but it was still the Passover. Remember God's days run from sundown to sundown. Jesus had been taken into custody the night of the Passover and the next morning which is the day of the Passover, He was condemned and crucified.

The following verses deomonstrate how Pilate was willing to release Jesus the morning after he had been taken in to custody. It was still the Passover. We all know the Jews refused and Jesus was crucified.

The diagram does not show a Sunday rising.

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to
the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.
John 20:1

It does get confusing sometimes going back and forth between the two different ways of accounting for days.

That's right...Another way to see 3 Days And 3 Nights SU M T W TH F S

Days 1 1 1
Nights 1 1 1

In looking at the previous scriptures you just post, one should now have a better understanding, as to what took place. Jesus didn't rise Sunday night nor Sunday morning. Remember Mary did not come to the Grave site until the first day of the week which is Sunday, when it was yet. (John 20:1) "The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulcher", And it was early in the morning and it was still dark. But Jesus had already risen. That's because Jesus went into His grave right before the end of the Passover or Wed. evening. The passing of the Passover brought in the Feast of the Unleavened Bread.

So Jesus would Have been in the Grave Wednesday night, Thursday daytime and Thursday night, Friday daytime, Friday night, Saturday daytime and Jesus rose right before the sun went down on Saturday. Hence one has the 3 days and 3 nights which Jesus prophesied.

His death Wednesday night is consistent with the comment of the prophet Daniel, stating the Messiah would be cut off (killed) in the midst of the week.

Now in Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week (Wednesday is the middle of the week) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, (Remember, Jesus is the sacrificial Passover Lamb). Now from the prophet Daniel we see Jesus died in the midst (Middle) of the week, so the night came first, then follow by the daytime.

Both Passover and Easter are predicated on the lunar cycle. Passover, on the 15th
day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, is always a full moon. On the other hand, Easter
is set on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox.

When three hours of darkness fell over the land as Jesus was dying on the cross, nobody can
say it was due to a solar eclipse, since that is a cosmological impossibility during a full moon.

Because Jesus prophesied He will rise on the third day, and it was the third day. They couldn't go check out the tomb in the previous two days because they were a "high sabbath" and a regular sabbath.

Matt 12:40 . . As Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a
huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart
of the earth. (cf. Jonah 1:17)

A handy fact to know about Christ's resurrection is that a preponderance of
textual evidence indicates that his crucified dead body was restored to life
during the third day rather than after the third day was completely over and
done with.

Matt 16:21 . . From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples
that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the
elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and
on the third day be raised to life.

Matt 20:17-19 . . Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the
twelve disciples aside and said to them: We are going up to Jerusalem, and
the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the
law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles
to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to
life.

Matt 17:22-23 . . And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus
said to them: The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of
men; and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.

Mark 9:31 . . For he taught his disciples, and said unto them: The Son of
man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after
that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

Luke 9:22 . . And he said: The Son of Man must suffer many things and be
rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be
killed and on the third day be roused.

Luke 18:31-33 . . Jesus took the twelve aside and told them: We are going
up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the
Son of Man will be fulfilled. He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will
mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him. On the third day he
will rise again.

Luke 24:1-8 . . On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the
women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found
the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not
find the body of the Lord Jesus.

. . .While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that
gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed
down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them: Why do you
look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember
how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: "The Son of Man must
be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day
be raised again." Then they remembered his words.

Luke 24:12-21 . . Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending
over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away,
wondering to himself what had happened. Now that same day two of them
were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.
They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As
they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came
up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.

. . . He asked them: What are you discussing together as you walk along?
They stood still, their faces downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, asked
him: Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that
have happened there in these days? What things? he asked.

. . . About Jesus of Nazareth; they replied. He was a prophet, powerful in
word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our
rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him;
but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And
what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.

Luke 24:41-46 . . And while they still could not believe it for joy and were
marveling, he said to them : Have you anything here to eat? And they gave
him a piece of a broiled fish; and he took it and ate it before them. Now he
said to them : These are my words which I spoke to you while I was still
with you, that all things which are written about me in the Law of Moses and
the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. Then he opened their minds
to understand the Scriptures, and he said to them : Thus it is written, that
the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day

Acts 10:39-41 . . And we are witnesses of all the things He did both in the
land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. And they also put him to death by
hanging him on a cross. God raised him up on the third day

1Cor 15:4 . . He rose again the third day
_
Well, you sure answered that question.

Obviously, it was not after the third day and third night, it was during the third day.

So why do these folk try to proclaim a fourth day resurrection?

I'm not sure what you're referencing in relation to "laborious work".

Perhaps you're using a different Bible translation or maybe I missed it when I just reread Leviticus chapter 23?
Here are two verses from Leviticus 23 (KJV).

3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Verse three has 'ye shall do NO WORK'

Verse seven has 'NO SERVILE WORK'

There is a difference in the type of work that is restricted from the sabbath day to the first day of unleavened bread.

Can someone elaborate?

Does that matter? The pharisees at that time had totally butchered it. They got to define "work" that was off limit on Sabbath, and they used that to derail Jesus's authority during His ministry.

Someone is confused.

Leviticus 23
5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's Passover.
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of Unleavened bread...
7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

The text does not state that the first day of Unleavened bread is a sabbath or even a high sabbath.

The text does state that NO SERVILE WORK is to be performed.

So what Bible version are you using?

You bet it matters, because there are two distinct types of work being referred to.

One is the sabbath rest day , no work whatsoever, not even lighting a fire.

Verse 7 states no servile work is to be performed but no mention of a rest day.

They are different.

You cannot develop doctrine (truth statements) on the basis of one verse!

I did an image search and found it online. I do not remember the site, but because it was a large file, I saved it to my hard drive to resize, and I also sharpened it a little. If you right click on the image, a list of options will open from which you can make selections. So you can either find the original online that way, or use the new url I created after I uploaded it to my image host. And I just learned something new, too! One option shows the text from the image in a list. I never knew that could be done. Any ways, if you would just like to use the url I created, it is https://i.postimg.cc/Bb5ZXZtQ/Passover-Week.png :)

It has been taught that Jesus died on Good Friday and rose early Sunday morning. As a result of this teaching, man instituted the holiday called Easter. On Easter Sunday you have Christians, world wide paying tribute to a day, in which they believe Jesus, was resurrected. In researching the scriptures one will find that the whole concept of Jesus dying on a Friday and being resurrected on Sunday is contrary to the bible itself. In other words, this tradition directly contradicts the word of God.

And if Jesus was to be in the grave for three days and three nights, according to the Bible, then Jesus couldn't of died on Good Friday and rose early Easter Sunday morning. So why link Jesus to Easter if it's contrary to the Bible?
