2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
Thank you for this, VCO :) It looks like potential panel material :D

I hope this 2 Timothy 1:9 panel is purple enough for you, VCO :)

Thanks again! :D

Perhaps that is what Jacob's Ladder is all about, to show us how the Rapture will be.

And thank you for getting inspired by one of my Favorite Verses. Yes I Saved it, as your artwork with one of the TRUTHS thath inspired you, that is so precious to me, it deserves a special place on my computer. I do not know HOW this verse does not convince everyone, that OSAS, by GRACE ALONE is absolutely TRUE, when you believe it in your Heart (Human Spirit).

We hear that anyone who believes in Christ is saved, yet the demons believe in Christ and they are not saved. Do we have to do more to be saved? What more is required?
I would also add the following of what the collect group of demons called 'Legion' said to the Lord:

"What do You want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have You come here to torture us before the appointed time?”

From this scripture, it would appear that the fallen angels/demons know that there is a time for them to be tortured because of their rebellion. If salvation was offered to demons, I'm sure that not be one of them would reject it.

Another issue is that, it was necessary for Jesus to become a human being so that He could represent us, so that He could pay the penalty for our sins by the shedding of His blood. For the scripture says, "unless there is a shedding of blood there is no forgiveness for sins." Therefore, how could Jesus atone for sins of fallen spiritual beings?

And as previously stated, faith is the things hoped for, but not yet seen. How can these fallen angels have faithful hope, when they were already in the presence of God and in His kingdom before mankind was created?

How serendipitously coincidental, also, that one of the elements that make up that panel, is incredibly VERY similar to the picture you have posted! It is almost eerie :giggle: Although it is somewhat hidden in the layered backgrounds, it does add color around and behind the angel figure, and to the upper left hand corner :D After posting it I do see it needs a little more work here and there  I will let you know when I fix it up some more so you can save the better copy :)

Hello Blik!

First of all, I don't believe that salvation is offered for fallen angels. And that because they were already in God's presence and therefore there is no need for them to have faith. As Jesus said to Thomas "Thomas, you believe because you have seen. Blessed are those who believe but have not seen. Scripture also states that "faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Fallen angels, also called unclean spirits and demons, were already in God's presence for who knows how long before they rebelled with Satan. But the fact remains that at one time there were holy angels and in God's presence. The Lake of fire was created for Satan and his angels.

"Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Exactly. They were given the revelation of God in the fullness they can receive yet rejected God nevertheless. What more can God do?

That verse you have not understood it correctly, NOTHING WE DO EARNS FORGIVENESS.

That VERSE means, that those who have there sins FORGIVEN before time began, have the new BORN AGAIN NATURE, that will want to CONFESS SIN, each time it occurs, because Obedience is an act of AGAPE LOVE.

1 John 5:1-3 (HCSB)
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him.
2 This is how we know that we love God’s children when we love God and obey His commands.
3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden,

It is NOT A BURDEN, when AGAPE LOVE is the Motive for doing them.

I REPEAT: OBEDIENCE has nothing to do with earning Salvation,

it is AN ACT OF AGAPE LOVE, NO matter what commandment YOU WANT TO OBEY, including 1 John 1:9.

IF the motive for your Obedience is Trying to EARN FORGIVENESS,

it nothing more then WOOD, HAY, and STUBBLE at Best,

OR it is nothing more than FILTHY RAGS at WORST.

I am sorry ladies, but I need to translate that FILTHY RAGS Literally. It is not any old soiled rag, our English Translators did not have the intestinal fortitude, to translate that term LITERALLY. It means a PILE of Used Menstrual Rags.

Isaiah 64:6 (NIV)
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Now you have a clear picture of what GOD thinks of our trying to EARN forgiveness.

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Titus 3:5-7 (HCSB)
5 He saved usnot by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NJB)
8 Because it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith; not by anything of your own, but by a gift from God;
9 not by anything that you have done, so that nobody can claim the credit.

Romans 11:6 (NASB)
6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (HCSB)
3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
5 You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
Is deciding to allow Christ to forgive us really counted as work to be done for salvation? I think it is apart from our saying to the Lord to look at me, I am perfect so save me on my own merits. To confess our sins and ask forgiveness for them is not work for salvation, it is faith in the Lord.

I just posted this on "Not By Works" thread.

Then came over here to check this thread, WOW, it fits your question too.

So read this post, and Tell me, DID THIS ANSWER YOUR QUESTION ? ? ?

IT BEGINS WITH:

1 Corinthians 12:3 (HCSB)
3 Therefore I am informing you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

It seems illogical to Credit yourself for Good Works.

HE EMPOWERS US.

Isaiah 59:21 (NCV)
21 The LORD says, “This is my agreement with these people: My Spirit and my words that I give you will never leave you or your children or your grandchildren, now and forever.“

Hebrews 13:5 (NRSV)
5 Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, "I will never leave you or forsake you."

John 14:15-17 (YLT)
15 `If ye love me, my commands keep,
16 and I will ask the Father, and another Comforter He will give to you, that he may remain with you--to the age;
17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it doth not behold him, nor know him, and ye know him, because he doth remain with you, and shall be in you.

Philippians 2:13 (HCSB)
13 For it is God who is working in you, ⌊enabling you⌋ both to desire and to work out His good purpose.

1 Corinthians 15:10 (HCSB)
10 But by God’s grace I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not ineffective. However, I worked more than any of them, yet not I, but God’s grace that was with me.

2 Corinthians 3:5 (HCSB)
5 ⌊It is⌋ not that we are competent in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God.

So How come so many want to Pat themselves on the Back for doing GOOD WORKS ? ? ?

Galatians 2:20-21 (HCSB)
20 and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.

I found that on a Free Christian clipart site, with other writing on it so I covered up the the other writings with the add on clouds (really just thought process icons) with other features with a program called Faststone Image Viewer and added the RAPTURE Message with their Draw Board.

I have always that the JACOBS Ladder had more than just a way for angels to get from heaven to hear. Most likely to show us how we can get to Earth and still live in Heaven in the New City Jerusalem. And possibly the Rapture too.

I have read posts saying that if you believe in working for the Lord it is for self, not through Jesus. I have read them being accusied of braggint that they do good works if they mentions that God wants them to accept him and his works, but I have never read a post that says they are patting themselves on the back for personally doing work. You say many say this. Please post where it has been said.

I am wondering if this isn't a post aimed at talking peole into not accepting the Lord as the Lord, through the holy spirit, has us work for Him. The scripture you quote speaks agaist that idea if that is your aim.

When the Lord spoke of angels using a ladder the Lord was telling us in ways a human can envision that angels are constantly going between heaven and earth, communicating the heavens with the earth.

The old testament, before God improved communications with us with the new covenant, often used earthly things to illustrate the spiritual. There is much symbolism in the old testament as a result.

Which means I may make further changes to it ;)

I Consider anybody that thinks it adds to there Salvation, or I HAVE do this or that to before I am accepted by the LORD, or It is MY PART of Salvation, or anything other MOTIVE for OBEDIANCE than WE AGAPE LOVE the LORD simply because we WANT TO, to be patting oneself on the back.

OBEDIENCE IS NOT PART OF OUR SALVATION OF OUR HUMAN SPIRIT, however IT CERTAINLY IS PART OF THE AGAPE LOVE THAT HE HAD THE HOLY SPIRIT POUR INTO OUR HEARTS, as like a Seed, that AGAPE LOVE will produce the SAME KIND OF LOVE for HIM and the Brethren, and SANCTIFICATION. You do know that SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION are two separate things the Holy Spirit Does in our Hearts ? ? ?

SALVATION = Happens in an instant to the Human Spirit when you genuinely Receive HIM as LORD, meaning MASTER, out of LOVE for HIM. You receive that SALVATION the LORD CREDITED TO YOU, when HE wrote our NAMES in the BOOK OF LIFE, and can NEVER BE LOST.

SANCTIFICATION = The ongoing Process of disciplining our Bodies and maturing our Human Spirit to WALK LIKE HE WALKED, and it will not be completed until the Resurrection.

Yes we believe this VERSE LITERALLY:

1 John 2:19 (HCSB)
19 They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us.
However, they went out so that it might be made clear that none of them belongs to us.

Why in the world would people be put up for ridicule for loving the Lord so they want to obey Him? You say yourself it is a good thing, yet give it many other motives, like "adding to salvation". I have read many posts against law as they call wanting to obey, but I have yet to read a post saying our works are for our salvation. Only people slamming and accusing others for speaking of any listening to law.

There are a multitude believing that on this THREAD. And I have be RIDICULED for my Narrow minded BELIEFS, but I follow the most narrow mind man who ever lived on this earth, JESUS CHRIST the Second Person of the HOLY TRINITY. JESUS CHRIST Bought and Paid for our Salvation all by HIMSELF.

Acts 4:12 (HCSB)
12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.”

ESPECIALLY NOT SELF!

Romans 3:10 (NASB)
10 as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;

We have had several that think they no longer SIN.

The ONLY PURE motive of any value to GOD, is because you LOVE HIM like this:

Matthew 22:37 (HCSB)
37 He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

That is only POSSIBLE, when it is done with the SAME TYPE OF GOD's LOVE that HE SOWED INTO OUR HEARTS, during the Born Again experience.

Other MOTIVES are a FALSE GOSPEL.

We are to build each other up, not tear them down. If I was not upholding your devotion and praise of the Lord, I would be tearing you down. I didn't mean to do that. But when you accuse people because they want to obey, you are tearing them down not building them.

I did not mean for my defending the people you criticize to tear you down for your wonderful knowledge of scripture.

Don't worry, I am used to it. Yes I get perturbed that the vast majority DOES NOT want to HEAR what OSAS Actually teaches and BELIEVES. They MAJORITY wants to continue to believe it MEANS what they have been taught from the pulpit and elsewhere, that we Believe we can sin all we want when we get SAVED. Because even every evangelical that I knows that is a false teaching.

What bewilders me is that they say they don't teach that it is OK to sin, and post after post warns against anyone who strives to obey, telling of the dangers of obedience. Some even say if you try to obey you are not obeying the law of love. One said it is putting the cart before the horse, as if it is possible to obey God without love, love is the base of law.

If you counted the posts warning that works won't save, as if we believed our works saved us, they would amount to the hundreds. If you post anything to do with God creating the Sabbath they chant "Sabbath keepers", and they feel that is a saying like calling a negro nigger. Yet they also post that if you know of God creating the Sabbath, on Saturday, then you must go to church on Saturday, I guess to an empty building as most churches don't convene on Saturday.
