But to love does not get our sins forgiven.
Scripture says otherwise.
1 Peter 4:8 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

Do I take this as yourself being perfect? You never ever stumble in the tiniest manner?
My speaking of scripture should not give you the right to ridicule me with the taunt of "you think you are perfect".

The Lord lets us free to disagree, the Lord does not let us free to slam, fight, and judge each other.

1 Peter 4:8 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
If loving each other takes the place of confessing our sins, this scripture points out the extreme importance of love but it does not say that we do not need to confess sin if we have love.

How are you able to speak of love, when love of the Lord would guide us to confessing our sin and accepting all Christ is for us?

The Scripture I provided proved you wrong. Your argument is with Scripture, not me.

I was not slamming you, I am asking do I take your teaching to be this. There are plenty of people in Hebrew Roots who believe they never sin anymore, not in the slightest thing and that they are effectively perfect in THAT sense. So then, that's not what you're teaching? That was a fair actual question.

It is as if posters wants to shoot any messenger who reminds them God wants us to obey Him. Scripture even tells us to be perfect! Could we be perfect if we tell Christ we do not repent of our sin, we want to keep it?

John 15: 10 I have obeyed my Father’s commands, and I remain in his love. In the same way, if you obey my commands, you will remain in my love.

Matt. 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
It's not the problem with obedience. It's about what is the heart of the teaching. People take issue with you constantly putting law front and center. A lot of us believe that love alone earned that place. You even belittled the Gospel in one of the earlier posts, suggesting it's not enough to follow the plain Gospel, or something to that effect. Well guess what, Gospel is plain and humble because Jesus came plain and humble. Don't underestimate it though.

I agree, everything of the Lord has its basis in love.

But to love does not get our sins forgiven.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins..
Love covers a multitude of sins. Also, confessing sin is not asking
forgiveness. It is agreeing with God on our condition before Him.

Do you obey God BECAUSE you love Him, or do you love God because you were commanded to do so?
You see what I mean? But the way you put things, law, law, law, it's all about commandments and love is out of the picture. Without love there is no obedience, with love obedience is natural and doesn't need to be forced. Does a loving wife need warnings and urgings not to backstab her husband? This is why people oppose some of your views. Or at least the way you put things sounds wrong.

We hear that anyone who believes in Christ is saved, yet the demons believe in Christ and they are not saved. Do we have to do more to be saved? What more is required?
Hello Blik!

First of all, I don't believe that salvation is offered for fallen angels. And that because they were already in God's presence and therefore there is no need for them to have faith. As Jesus said to Thomas "Thomas, you believe because you have seen. Blessed are those who believe but have not seen. Scripture also states that "faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Fallen angels, also called unclean spirits and demons, were already in God's presence for who knows how long before they rebelled with Satan. But the fact remains that at one time there were holy angels and in God's presence. The Lake of fire was created for Satan and his angels.

"Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

There is post after post accusing me of speaking of law, yet it is impossible to separate the two. 1 Corinthians 13 is a whole chapter telling us this. The law without love is nothing. If we refuse God's commands we do not love Him. Christ said if you love me you will obey me, yet posters get absolutely up in arms over the law that Christ is speaking of.

I don't think your post saying that speaking of law means love is out of the picture. It seems to me that if you refuse to hear the law, then love is out of the picture.

I agree, and this post has proven you right.

Now we need to move on to whether it is necessary to repent, or confess sins, or ask for forgiveness. Some say love is enough, we need not confess or repent. We don't need to ask for forgiveness, it comes automatically.

I agree, everything of the Lord has its basis in love.

But to love does not get our sins forgiven.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins..

That verse you have not understood it correctly, NOTHING WE DO EARNS FORGIVENESS.

That VERSE means, that those who have there sins FORGIVEN before time began, have the new BORN AGAIN NATURE, that will want to CONFESS SIN, each time it occurs, because Obedience is an act of AGAPE LOVE.

1 John 5:1-3 (HCSB)
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him.
2 This is how we know that we love God’s children when we love God and obey His commands.
3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden,

It is NOT A BURDEN, when AGAPE LOVE is the Motive for doing them.

I REPEAT: OBEDIENCE has nothing to do with earning Salvation,

it is AN ACT OF AGAPE LOVE, NO matter what commandment YOU WANT TO OBEY, including 1 John 1:9.

IF the motive for your Obedience is Trying to EARN FORGIVENESS,

it nothing more then WOOD, HAY, and STUBBLE at Best,

OR it is nothing more than FILTHY RAGS at WORST.

I am sorry ladies, but I need to translate that FILTHY RAGS Literally. It is not any old soiled rag, our English Translators did not have the intestinal fortitude, to translate that term LITERALLY. It means a PILE of Used Menstrual Rags.

Isaiah 64:6 (NIV)
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Now you have a clear picture of what GOD thinks of our trying to EARN forgiveness.

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Titus 3:5-7 (HCSB)
5 He saved usnot by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NJB)
8 Because it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith; not by anything of your own, but by a gift from God;
9 not by anything that you have done, so that nobody can claim the credit.

Romans 11:6 (NASB)
6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (HCSB)
3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
5 You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Well, I would say that since the word of God says that we should do these things, we should then do them. Albeit, for the true believer I believe that to confess and repent, will be natural responses. Baptism for example, is a public decree of ones admission of sin and their need for Christ as Savior. Regarding repentance, Jesus said unless we repent, we would also perish. Repentance is a change of mind, metánoia – literally, "a change of mind" ("after-thought"). It's a turning with God.

"if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

I guess the same people who claim they can live like a devil and be saved, or people who found license to sin. There are a lot of mythical beings like there out there in the woods who are reported to say these strange things on forums, but we never catch them, nobody has ever actually seen them and catch them as they're saying it, I just heard legends that these people exist...

Repent and be baptised for the remission of sins. Demons dont like water as evidenced by all those pigs who were possessed with demons ran into the water to shut them up.
Waht do yu dislike about the truth layman?
