Sorry, no.

Acts 19:2 Context

1And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Couldn't say it better.
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

that no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:3-8‬ ‭

argue osnt for unbelieving gentiles it’s for this group of. Slow gong former gentiles and Jews Paul was preaching to

“This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

But ye have not so learned Christ; if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

(?paul teaching the church how to accomplish this and make that change )

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:17-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

sanctification is an ongoing process the promise to be saved by hearing and believing the gospel is an initial promise that will be fulfilled by rhe process of faith

sanctification is the process of being changed from a person who believes sin isnt deadly to them over to indersrsnd if I don’t repent I will perish if I repent and believe God I will live forever once we are convicted of this sanctification will be the eventual result

When a person is born again (saved), he or she is (at that point) sanctified.
Exactly, the old man is "Crucified with Christ" and a "NEW LIFE BEGINS" - so "Sanctification" (Being set apart) is immediate.

God begins the process of conforming the believer to the image of His Son ... which is a continuous and ongoing process until the day of redemption
Exactly, so "Sanctification" is ALSO progressive.

"Sanctification" is another one of those religious "Buzz words" that changes its meaning according to the denominational paradigm teaching it.[/quote]

yes ... the issue we have is in rendering the "old man" as "Crucified with Christ" ... dead to sin ... putting off the old man

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts

When we put off the old man and put on the new man ... that is where God works. The old man cannot be fixed ... so God creates that "NEW LIFE" within and begins His work within the born again one. I think of it more as a maturation process. we are to grow up in Christ ...

Ephesians 4:11-15 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ
