I highlighted the ellipses up above, where you conveniently SNIPPED OUT the context of Calvin which said this:

"And this order ought to be carefully observed; for such is the wicked ambition which belongs to our nature, that when the question relates to the origin of our salvation, we quickly form diabolical imaginations about our own merits. Accordingly, we imagine that God is reconciled to us, because he has reckoned us worthy that he should look upon us. But Scripture everywhere extols his pure and unmingled mercy, which sets aside all merits."

Yes, you've stacked the deck. You purposely left out this portion to make it appear his conclusions were something other. Now, why would any honest person leave off portions of statements, literally make certain they snip them out, that don't support their conclusions as you've done?

Lol!!! He is writing his commentary to the elect, the saved, refers to them throughout.

Just as you fail to use proper context in Scripture you do the same here. The portion you claim as error does not contradict his commentary in its context.

Why is it you fail time and again to pinpoint audience and context only to arrive at error over and again???

When he claims God doesn't want the human race to perish he means its entirety. You're missing his meaning.

Not willing that ANY should perish is plain enough....and No pal....You are the one that EMBELLISHES the meaning of almost everything to fit your "ism" box of peddled error.

Amazing to me....how the words of Calvin, an ex-Catholic, are peddled on this thread over the bible.....Calvinism is as bad as HyperGrace in my view and as false as any other "ism".....

God is not willing that ANY should perish...

Maybe some of the “weaker” children...haven’t been led astray.....certainly not by Calvin......maybe they have stopped supporting someone......who shows no fruit of the Spirit...just insult after insult.....that is very worrying and concerning.

Since God REFUTES Calvin in the Bible (which even Calvin could see), why do you continue to hold to a PERVERTED GOSPEL? That shows that Calvin is your leader.

Did you notice all my quotations from Calvin's commentaries? He could not but help state the truth (which contradicts Calvinism) during his exposition, but turned right around and blatantly rejected the truth in favor of his theology. In effect he called God a liar.

Where have I said I hold to a perverted Gospel?

The Bible is God’s word..not Calvin.....so we look to scripture,if it ain’t there..then it don’t stand.

I believe irresistible grace....no question about that “ for me”...not talking for others.
He also chose me...I have eternal life...he knew me before I was born...I will never deny that....I never had a choice.when God Saved me...he has called me for his purpose ..repeat his purpose..to Glorify Him!

I don’t think you read my posts properly....you are in such a rush..to tell many they are wrong and skewed in their knowledge.

It’s quite sad...because you don’t discuss..you just insult and tell quite a few that they are wrong....it’s either your way or the highway.

I have never ever doubted my Faith........God has increased my Faith beyond my wildest dreams.....I just really don’t understand how dc thinks some member can lead me astray.

I can’t comprehend him to be honest.

Anyone can be led astray....the epistles make that very clear.

I am sure Paul was often beside himself with sadness and anger at how false teachers who had entered the assembly.

You also give a member emoji..on every post they post.....that is extremely worrying..you also support a certain behaviour also extremely worrying.

God is in control of me....I have no concern whatsoever of being led astray......you may have been led astray in the past.

I can assure you I never have..my Faith is in God.....my head has been In turmoil........but my Faith is “ROCK SOLID”........I walk in faith and put my trust in God.

Like he woke me up to my disgraceful behaviour.....I have been chastised by God and it darn well hurt....I don’t want that again.

So every day I say.....Lord I’m listening...not my will Lord your will....
